Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center

I spent about 6 weeks in this hospital and the overall experience was good. No body wants to be in the hospital but the people who work here are so nice and accommodating that time passed quickly. The nurses were all very compassionate and they always kept me informed of what was in store. PT was hard but it was what I needed and I am grateful for their diligence and patience with me. i’m a post-liver transplant patient at Kindred for several days now. It’s a well organized hospital, and the staff has been very helpful. I particularly appreciate my primary nurses so far, Romeo and Eileen, who have been very responsive to my needs and have often anticipated those needs. Room 524 more

My stay here, watching how Ajsa did her work, it was as if she got a joy out of helping me do whatever it was I needed to do. She always had a smile on her face that would brighten my day no matter how bad I might have felt. When I pressed my call light she was always fast to answer it. She would check on me even when I didnt call. She would always ask me what time should she come back to change my bed or to help me get ready for my day. She always made sure that everything was taken care of before she left my room. She deserves a gold star. During my stay here I met very nice people who helped me to get better. I was at about a month and I found the staff to be very attentive and kind. They had a great concern for customer service. They were very patient caregivers. A lot of the nurses are able to keep their sense of humor and keep things positive. The CNA Tracy was very attentive. Dear Kindred Hospital, I just wanted to take a few moments and give you some feedback on my experiences here at Kindred Hospital concerning your excellent staff of Nurses here at this facility. Not all make the grade but the ones that do are more than enough to keep ones memories pleasant and outlook on life positive. I've ranked these Nurses in an order that's made the biggest impact on my life moving forward. These are the individuals that deal with and take care of you at your LOWEST of LOWS. 1. Nurse Romeo: A true professional. He is the best person at his chosen craft that I've ever seen. Commnication skills are unmatched, medical knowledge of a patient's well being highly underrated, and overall medical & job awareness is at the very top of any chart out there. 2. Nurse Charmaine: More of what the medical profession needs. Excellent people person skills. one that talks to you and not at you. she really isn't a #2 but really (#1A). 3. Aid Natasha: These are people that are the backbone of your establishment. She is very considerate, prompt, and an overall joy to have around. She'll make the most humiliating situations bearable. 4. Aid Vickey: A bright light at a dark hour. Nights can be rough on most of us but she has a certain capability to make those 12 hour shifts pleasant. Thanks for all the joy and cheer. These individuals should get more recognition because of the overall professionalism at their chosen craft. They have gone out of their way and above & beyond the duties required of them each and every day. Consider yourself lucky to have them on your staff. I have been in the hospital since my transplant. The transplant went well but other things started going wrong so I needed extended care. I started out on a ventalator and I had to wean off the machine. There was a lot of anxiety involved, but the respiratory therapist were great. Duana, Rosemarie, and Nabill were patient and encouraging during this process.I cant say enough about these therapist. I also had some nurses who were very warm and caring. Romeo, Maria and Virginia my CNA all were great to me. And I appreciate my physical therapist Maz, she was patient but also very firm and helpful in my rehab process. She has really helped me to where I am going. I am going home soon and I'll be so happy after such a long journey. At the same time I am grateful for such a great group of people. Last but not least, the housekeepers were very nice. When they came to clean my room they would always ask how I was doing and if they could help me with anything. I enjoyed their smiles. J. This was my husbands third time in Kindred. The service has always been excellent. The nurses have been professional and caring.They are always willing to explain his treatments and medications. They have been very compassionate with him. We did have a few who always went above and beyond for us. Romeo RN, Adrian R. Soosama, Tracy Comier, and Danielle Taylor have been exceptional. I'm going home today after a month in the care of Kindred Hospital. I will say don't judge a book by its cover. To drive by the place its not flashy and doesn't stand out. But the people on the inside are warm and comforting. The nurses have all been very professional but also caring and friendly like familly. They would always answer my questions andd explain my medical care to me. They were on time with my medicines. They all stayed in good spirits and that helped me keep my spirit high. A few of the nurses who were execptionally great were Isabel Aham, James, Dennis, Nills, Uche, Kim Smith and Aline. I also enjoyed the company and help I got from Mellissa the unit secretary. The care provided to my husband was exceptional. Most of his caregivers were great. However, I would like to especially thank his RN Romeo. Romeo was a true gift. Through Romeo's compassionate, professional and clinical support my husband and I traveled this path with confidence. Maria was also a blessing. His PT team was wonderful as well. Many thanks to the 5th floor team at Kindred. You all made this part of our journey a little less stressful. more

My husband was at Kindred both pre and post lung transplant. He was on both the 5th floor and ICU 2. The doctors, nurses, and staff were were TOP NOTCH. They treated my husband with kindness and respect while always following his plan for wellness to the letter. I would like to recognize some workers that always went above and beyond and for that we are so grateful. Nurses: Charmaine, Rhea, Michelle, Romeo, Maribel, Ahmad, Ann, Maria, Joel, Sheryl, and Mini. CNA’s: Adrian, George,Petra, Myoshi, Tashonda, and Brenda. Pulmonary/ METRICE, OT/Arinn, PT/Bill, Lateef, JE, and Kerrie, RNA/ Joshua. NP/ Leticia, Nurse Secretaries/ Adrian and Charlotte, Cafeteria workers: Erica and Bianca and the gentleman who picked up our trays with a smile. So I have been at Kindred since February and it is amazing they help me with getting better I love and appreciate them it's a couple of nurses that I do have to say that are awesome and do their job over and Beyond what they have to do their names are Romeo Gigi Dennis Miss Mary Miss Rose that's just a couple of names that I at the moment but the night shift have amazing nurse the day shift have amazing nurse I just love the way they take care of their patients the dialysis nurse are so amazing as well and I appreciate all of them they help me recover very quickly wound care nurses I appreciate how they were gentle kind and understanding about the pain that patients go through I just want to say I for putting them in my life helping me they make me strong everyday with me saying all of this when you send a loved one to Kindred just know that will be well taken care of my name is Brandy Brooks I started out on the second floor to the third floor to the 4th floor now the 5th floor all nurses on all floors our compassion understanding patient they are just so amazing last but not least the doctors here are so amazing doctors dr. Williams and also I would like to knowledge to supervisors here all the charge nurses are so caring so loving to their patients to the cafeteria workers they're great and I love the way that they interact with the patients by checking on us when they don't have to just knowing that you have everyone motivating you to get better and get out of here it's just so amazing so amazing I couldn't have asked for a better Hospital more

If it weren't for Unit Clerk Paula's I could have given 5 stars. Novlet, Emma. Adrienne Geraldine and all PT. RT , OT and Speech were great! Overall everyone was great except two unit clerks day and night. Staff was extremely helpful also. Carmie Carr more

My goal was to list some of the skilled and dedicated Kindred employees who are helping me recover from my leg wounds. I find my task made difficult because of their numbers, my poor memory for names and those times when I was half asleep during our encounters. A dozen nurses and assistants live in my memory due to their tender care, while their names escape me. Every Kindred employee earned my respect and highest professional ratings. None earned lowered. One particular night nurse, Ms. Eileen has such a cheerful smile that troubles and pains readily disappear. A classic angel of mercy. Another nurse, a gentleman nicknamed Romeo- is the ideal nurse to help a man with wound dressings, toilet necessities, cleaning and grooming. He is cheerful, competent, concioutous, respectful and thoughtful to a patients needs and small courtesies that increase my comfort. After a month in Kindred, I will say the overall care here is great. Everyone I've met has been very friendly and very helpful. I have came a lot further than I thought was possible and it is because of all of the encouragement and help the people here have given me. My pulmonary rehab has been so helpful, Metrice is great. She has helped me so much. My physical therapy team Jabari and Lyndsey have given me the encouragement and confidence I needed to get back walking. My wife has spent about a month in this hospital and the overall care was excellent. Dr. Hitt was excellent. He was very informational and straight forward.My wife received dialysis and her nurse Tina was always on top of things, she was always so able to calm my wife down.
