Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center

I am at kindred...and I so thought I could not do this here.... I cried, felt depressed but the nurses, dr. And everybody has been so wonderful to me .. Gave me confidence and the strength to do this. And I have almost got this thing done.. I want to especially mention the therapists, rick... He has been wonderful, nurses... Erica and Nancy... The DVD lady.. She kept me so entertained, and also the doctors!!, thank you all for giving me what I needed because I just could not have done this without them. My stay in this hospital has been great so far. The nurses are all so nice and helpful. Soosama has been extremely helpful and very caring. I wish I could take her home with me when I leave. Jo with the wound care nurses is so knowledgable and always compassionate. She always has such a sweet demeanor. It makes my day go smoother. My doctor is also wonderful. I am so thankful for the care I am receiving here. These people are very good at what they do. I enjoy my pt. They are helping me regain my strength. In my time here at Kindred, I will say they have taken very good care of me. The nurses are iso nice and they are inteligent. They have taken time to explian medications and treatments to me. The wound care team and doctoer are the best. Some of the nurses and nurses aids that have went above and beyond are Emma, Claudette, Jessica, and Leesha. I have really enjoyed having them around, they have brightened my days. Jabari and Lindsey in physical therapy are great! They have helped me so much and they have made me laugh along the way. Even the housekeepers are sweet. They do an axcelent job but they are personable when they come into my room. And I dont want to leave out the people in the kitchen. They have worked with me anytime I have called, they will go out of their way to make sure I'm happy. J. Pempek more

Everybody here has been really nice to me. When I use my call light they respond right away. They are all so friendly to me. The nurses and doctors have been great with my pain control. My physical therapist has been very encouraging. When I don't feel like doing my therapy they are understanding but always encouraging to get me to do it anyway. I am glad they push me, I'm getting stronger. The wound care nurses are very good too. They know what they are doing and they are very caring. Also, the food here is great. Anita Perez more

My father has received great care from this hospital. The doctors have been so nice and generous with their time and knowledge. They been very educational for our family. When I come to visit all of the people here are so friendly and helpful. The wound care team here is amazing! They have helped my Dad so much. They are all so nice and they know what they are doing. The therapy staff is also amazing. My father has gained back a lot of his strength and confidence. I think he even looks forward to his physical therapy now. I also want to say that the cafeteria here has great food at a great price. And the free parking was also a big help. If we are ever in need of this type of hospital again, I will not hesitate to choose Kindred again. E. Russell more

I have spent 11 months in Kindred. I was sent here primarily for wound care and I couldn't have asked for a better place to be. The wound care team here is great. I had originally been told that the wound I had couldn't be healed but I have had great results with the dedicated work of the would care team here at Kindred. Dr. Roff is great. She is very smart and caring. I owe a big thank you to her. I also appreciate the hard work of the wound care nurses Carmel, Jo, Sheena, and Joann. They were very diligent in my care. I also benefitted from their visits, because they could always brighten my day by greeting with smiles and just bringing cheer to my room. I had many great nurses and physical therapist here. The ladies on the out of bed team were also great. I hope I don't ever need this kind of place again but if I ever do, I would not think twice about coming back here. When I came here I was concerned over how the care would be. It has been excellent. The doctors have been so attentive and they make sure to order me anything I need. They have taken their time to listen to me and to explain whats going on. My PT/OT has also been great. They always take their time with me. I also had some really great nurses. They would help me with anything I needed. They didn't wait around for someone else to help me, if they saw something or I asked for something they just did it. metricia theorpist- information given by her ia very helpful. maxine, does a very good job. vivian does a good job. claudia, michelle is very caring. vet she explan what all the medince is for. rick and kim is very patient with me, we talk doing the theorpy and it goes by calmly. all the theorpist that i have work does a wonderful job. nurses, nurse asst, respiritory dr. v. nguyen very good doctor. dietary team was good, respiritory team good, house keeping done a good job in keeping the room clean, charisse case manager is good, guy from adm. is helpful he check on me often to see what i need he does a good job. more

I've been here close to a month and I've received only professional help and they've aided us on everything we've ever brought to them and usually pretty quickly. The nursing staff on the 5th floor have been beyond just nurses, they really care for their patients. Michelle, Vanessa, Rose, and Lilly were all so attentive. I would definitely recommend this hospital to my friends. The kitchen staff were also very helpful, they were very accommodating. The free parking has been nice. George Mouser more

All of the nurses and CNAs took very good care of me. They were all so nice and helpful. They were here when I needed them. Respiratory therapy also took very good care of me. I would like to thank all of the people at Kindred for all the help I have gotten here. My physical therapist Kim and Jeremy were very hard working and helpful to me. I've been here for about a month and I don't think that there is much that they could improve on. They have worked hard to coordinate my care and they have done a great job. When I'm finished with one therapy, the next one is there waiting for me. They have been very encouraging and have helped me to not only regain my strength and heath but also my confidence. My overall stay has been great. Romero is a 5 star nurse. Maria is also a fantastic nurse. Bridgette and Maxine are very sweet CNAs, they were always willing to help with anything. Margarita from the house keeping dept was so very sweet. She always would greet me so kindly and she would just check to see how I was doing. Gary, my physical therapist is the most polite man, he was very encouraging and I'm glad he was my therapist. He was very respectful to me. Jasmine the nurse was so sweet to me. My Husband was very very sick when we got to Kindred, I couldnt be happier with the progress he has made at this hospital. All of the employees have been Wonderful! Very caring people in every department! After meeting the CEO Mr Stein I can see why. He so visible in the hospital every day, You will see him all over the hospital and even eating lunch with the staff in the cafeteria. Great food at a very inexpensive price and free parking really help with expenses. Extra thanks to: Nancy, Chi, Maria G.,Eunice,Joni,Kekilomo,Tabitha,Joseph,Nils,Robert,Suong,Jessica M,Konstantine,Lindsay,Jabari, Gwen and many more. I have had great care here at Kindred. I wish I could thank all of the people who helped me while I was here. The nurses are so sweet. They always stop in just to see if I'm doing alright, even when I'm not their patient. The wound care nurses were especially good to me. They take their time and they are gentle, and always offer kind words to me. The people here are very knowledgable and they take the time to let me know exactly what they are doing and why. I have been at Kindred for over two months now waiting for lungs, and I want to really thank the staff for being caring and considerate and going the extra mile for their patients. Thus far I have been to a cultural diversity party with foods and clothing from around the world, a re-newal of vows for a transplant patient and his wife (Latecia and Matrice went all out with decorating, cake, punch, presents, and this was pulled together in hours with a whole lot of staff, Bob the CEO who is one of the best CEO's I have ever seen, and a preacher. WOW! Then last Friday was my husband and I's 44th wedding anniversary and again Matrice and Latecia decorated my room, brought a delicious cake and a card signed by a whole lot of the staff. Oh, Latecia is my nurse-practioner who has been my advocate from the first time when I got here, and I can tell you she takes care of me and is a great go-to for the doctors, Metrice is my lung rehab and strength building pre-surgery lady who absolutely understands how hard breathing issues are and how necessary building chest muscles and my lungs are even when I give her a hard time. And then there is Romeo,the most compassionate and kind nurse I have ever had. There are a whole lot of workers here that are great, but Romeo is just special. He loves what he does and it shows in everything he does. Thank you all! more

After multiple hospitalizations and various hospitals, This place is far and above all the others I've been to. The staff here is always willing to help with anything. Lauren and Robin on the nursing team are just exceptional. My physical therapy team are always so upbeat and inspiribg, it really helps to motivate me. With all of the nice people around here, I don't mind being in the hospital at all. The kitchen staff is also very accomodating. I honestly don't see anyway that they could improve on this place. I had to recieve a new IV thoday and Yousef brought in an ultrasound sound to start my IV and it made it so easy, one stick and no pain. He is great at what he does.Elizabeth Nelms more

My care was great, it was hard work and tailored for me specifically. Metrice and Rosemarie from Pulmonary Rehab pushed without being overbearing, which helped improve me tremedously. Maria and Thomas came to my room twice everyday to make sure i got to walking and recover strength in my legs. I loved the fact that they had me doing laps around the hallway. Felix was the first nurse i had when I got here, he would explain everything; he is a very good nurse. Latisha, the Nurse Practitioner, is a very hard worker. She would check on me in the morning to see what I needed and did what was necessary to address my imsonia, and she was my mouth piece to the doctors. Overall, the room was very clean and folks seems to care about their job. If you need a hospital, come to this. Plus it is conveniently close to Methodist. Harold Woodson Sr. more

My experience here has been a positve one, and I'll be leaving here much better than when I arrived. I'm doing better physically and mentally. The staff here have been so understanding and encouraging.The respiratory team and nurses have taught me so much and have worked with me. They have been so understanding along the way. I'm thankful that this place was here for me. I used to go to a breathing center to help me with my breathing three times a week. When I came here and had one session with pulmonary rehab, I learned more in that one seesion than I did at the breathing center over a few months. These people here have been wonderful to me. My experience has been great. All the help has been wonderful, and the people have been great. The rehab staff were great, especially Rick and Kim. I felt like they care.They made me feel really good and we were able to laugh and cut up most of the time. Dr. Greg and the rest of the physicians were very helpful and always kept us up to date on my medicines and everything that needed to be done. more
