Kindred Clear Lake is such a great hospital that I don't want to leave. All of the staff were kind and attentive. The rehab therapy team has been a big part of my recovery. more

I think the patient care is great, 5 stars! I really like this hospital, it's one of the better hospitals in this area. I have been to a lot of different facilities and I think Kindred Clear Lake is even better than some of the short term acute care hospitals. The staff are easy to work with, always helpful, professional, and overall do a good job. I would send any of my family here. more

Since I have been here I have received nothing but good care. The nurses and doctors started working on me right away. Every time I needed something they were right there. The wound care team has been great, very prompt, and they did their job very well. I was nervous when needing to come here, but everything has been great. I recommend this facility to anyone needing this type of long term care. They say they will take care of you and they really do. Never have I experienced anything like this type of care. This is my first experience and I am very happy with the staff and everyone. Whenever I made a mistake in my care I apologized and the staff would tell me that I didn't owe them any apologies because that was their job. more

I highly recommend this hospital. It's a great hospital, with excellent doctors, ICU nurses, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, and speech therapist, just to name a few. The staff is very kind and friendly. The house keeping staff is very friendly and clean the room very well everyday. It is nice that family can stay overnight. After being at another hospital for 47 days with a lot of complications, I came here on the ventilator and struggled to wean off the vent because I would become too anxious. The respiratory therapist here have been so supportive, encouraging, and compassionate in helping me wean off of the vent. They didnt rush it, yet because they were so caring and helpful I was able to get off the vent in 2 weeks. The case manager has been very helpful to keep us informed on various things including follow up appointments. If I ever need this level of care again I will chose to come here. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of me and my wife's lives for the past month. more

With the nurses and doctors I have seen a lot of compassion, nurture, knowledge, and enthusiasm. The staff has been very caring and polite when it came to my wife being involved in my care. Everyone seems to enjoy their work, and the doctors seem enthusiastic about their job, its not just a routine. They take the time to explain procedures and tests. The therapy team has been excellent and very knowledgeable. Although they are doing work, they make it fun. They are full of energy, bouncing around, and it is a positive infectious environment to be in. As one of the few to first try the Exo-skeleton suite in therapy I felt very privileged and honored. The Exo suite is a battery operated device that helps correct posture and gate to assist with walking and standing correctly. Dietary staff is very professional and polite. House keeping staff is polite and encouraging. We often visit while they clean because they are also concerned with how we are doing. more

I highly recommend this facility because the staff has handled my wound care with the highest professionalism, best equipment, physicians, nurses, wound care team, and facility. The cleanliness of the facility is exceptional. Everything is done in a timely manner. There was excellent communication from the hospital I transferred from when admitting here. When I go for follow up appointments the communication is excellent and makes the appointments go smoothly. On a constant basis I am asked by doctors and staff of varying specialties how my care is going so we can discuss recovery, questions, and concerns. My physicians speak with me one on one and I find that very valuable. The rehab therapy team has been very thoughtful and considerate of my wound to prevent further pain and trauma to it. When they take me to the rehab gym it is a very lively and optimistic environment. We laugh and crack jokes, it is very enjoyable. Through therapy I feel that I will progress to the next level in recovery and life. The dietary staff is very kind, accommodating, and helpful. When I am not pleased with a meal that they have prepared for me, they are very accommodating to provide something that is more desirable. House keeping is very professional, courteous, and respectful of privacy. The nurses and nurse aids are respectful and considerate, they help provide anything that I may be lacking by not being at home. They make me feel open and welcome to ask for things. The wound care team is extremely professional and work closely with the wound care doctors, myself, and UTMB, the hospital that initially treated my wound. The wound care team has done such a great job of maintaining my wound care that when I returned to UTMB for a follow up appointment, the staff was very impressed with the care and said that they don't usually compliment other facility's wound care. The staff here take the care very personal with great professionalism. Eudell in HBO is very professional, explains the procedure thoroughly, and ensures my comfort. more

I have been to many, many hospitals from Arizona to Texas, and this is the best hospital I have ever been to. Everyone here is so kind and caring. The staff has been very accommodating to provide a comfortable cot for me to sleep on in my husband's room so that I can be here with him at night. Housekeeping does a wonderful job in keeping the facility clean, it is cleaned everyday. more

The facility is very nice. It is kept clean throughout, and our private room and restroom are cleaned daily. It has been wonderful to have a private room. The staff is a beautiful bunch of people. more

I appreciate all the care I have been given at this hospital. Everyone has been attentive to my needs from the doctors all the way to the housekeeping department. Dietary has always tried to fullfill my requests and the food is good. This hospital is definitely a hit!!! more

All of the nurses and staff have taken very good care of my brother and myself. My brother has been here before and we were happy with the care so we chose to come back when this level of care is needed. more

From housekeeping to their physicians, this hospital cares only for the comfort of their patients. It is an immaculately clean facility; the staff are in constant communication with each other to provide the best care for the patient where nobody drops the ball and the patient is left in limbo. The patient is also provided a leadership team where any concerns can be brought up and from a personal standpoint, any problems are communicated and resolved immediately. These concerns can range from housekeeping to physician related issues. Overall during my 3+ weeks stay, I have received the best care than I have ever received at any hospital and due to my health issues I have stayed at many other places. Patient care is second to none.... thumbs up! more

I have had excellent care from the nurses: Tory, Jessica, and Angelica, and CNAs, Doris, Claro, & Kisses. All of the nurses, especially Jessica, were just overly nice, compassionate, and didnt force anything on days when I didnt feel as well. The staff have been real nice to my family too. I'm not really fond of hospitals, but if you have to be in one it might as well be this one because everyone seems to go above and beyond the call of duty. more

I could not ask for better care. I like the room and environment. I really like the dialysis nurses as well. Dr. Armstrong has been very good. The nurse, Tessa, is a sweet little thing and very friendly. We have had some good conversations. The CNA, Sam, is very thoughtful and thorough in his care. I've never had care from a CNA like that before. I can tell he loves his job. The nurse, Tory, he was alright, he was thoughtful and always had my medicine on time. He worked with me when I was experiencing some of my worst pain, and he was careful to help me manage it well. It is now time for me to transfer to a skilled nursing facility, and the staff have been very thoughtful in helping my wife and I chose a good facility close to home. I've been very satisfied here. Sometimes when I'm in the hallway I feel like a celebrity with staff greeting me. If anyone is needing this kind of care, I would recommend Kindred Clear Lake. more

Glessen, Jerome, and Fernando are the top notch in therapy staff. Without their help I wouldn't have this much mobility. Glessen & Fernando swapped stories with me during therapy which created good relationships so I always looked forward to my time with them. If someone needs to go anywhere for physical therapy, they could come here and be well taken care of. JoJo, my speech therapist took time to swap stories with me. She made me feel good simply by sharing. Pam, Chet, Joe, and Amy in respiratory have been very helpful. Many respiratory therapist were helpful in my care, all throughout the day and night. Two nights Pam even stayed late to wash my hair. That made me feel special. Dr. Khan & Dr. Dahdel were very good at exlaining my care. They took time to explain medication, why I needed it, and they did so in a way that I could understand. As far as nursing staff...Kindred has the cream of the crop. They treat me with compassion. more

Overall it been a good experience. I feel like I've made progress working with Amy with pulmonary rehab. She lets me work at my own pace but keeps me motivated. When I had any breathing problems they were quick to respond and would come back to check on me quite a bit. That made me feel like I was being taken care of. I also liked working with the physical and occuational therapist. They also let me work at my own pace and they would keep me motivated. Some of the nurses here think outside of the box. Janie the CNA would give me a fresh wet wash cloth to wipe my face and freshen up. That doesnt sound like much but when you are in the hospital for so long little things like that matter. I have to use assistance to get up and walk so she Janie was making things easier for me. I've noticed that the nursing staff, even if they are not assigned to work with me that day, would stop in to check on me and see how I was doing. That brightened up my day a little. The food has been good. I like how you get a choice in what you want and they offered alternatives if I didnt like the main course. more

I say go! It's a clean hospital and the nurses do whatever they can to keep you comfortable. Overall they are friendly and take good care of patients.that makes a big difference. more
