I have lived in a Key Management apartment for 27 years. They have been excellent. Respectful of privacy and that this was my home. They were preemptive in upkeep. The furnace was serviced annually, heating ducts where cleaned regularly, windows were washed on the outside several times a year, yard work was always done nicely, sidewalks were shoveled by 6-7:00 am after a snow fall, rarely a slippery ice patch, common areas were always clean Repairs were completely promptly. I was proud to say I lived in the building. The office staff was always polite. I would recommend any rental that Key Managment has very highly. I lived at the Sovereign for 1 year and I hated every second of it. The building manager and the management company are completely incompetent and try to screw you over at any opportunity they get. The building is dirty, and definitely NOT safe. A friend living in the building said a drunk homeless man got into the building and was trying to get into her apartment. There is very little security in and around the building - half the time the front door (which is supposed to be locked) is left open. The landlords are not helpful and are sometimes downright rude. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere, not just this particular building, but the management company as well. They are awful. The apartments look very charming since they have the old Milwaukee feel, but once you start living there, you'll realize that they are disgusting and VERY poorly maintained. Also, I don't think they clean or paint the units at all once the previous tenant moves out because the condition of the units upon move in (and not just mine) are a disgrace. Seriously - stay away. more

I would ABSOLUTELY agree with the previous post. Carlos, the apartment manager, is horribly ineffective and a terrible communicater. I moved into my apartment with dirt on the ground, unscrubbed showers, and hair from the previous tenant all over the place. I talked to Carlos about it and he did nothing. I wrote the landlord a letter. He did nothing. As a general rule, if anything in your apartment ever breaks, don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon. I just barely got something fixed that I requested over 6 weeks ago. more
