I lived at the Sovereign for 1 year and I hated every second of it. The building manager and the management company are completely incompetent and try to screw you over at any opportunity they get. The building is dirty, and definitely NOT safe. A friend living in the building said a drunk homeless man got into the building and was trying to get into her apartment. There is very little security in and around the building - half the time the front door (which is supposed to be locked) is left open. The landlords are not helpful and are sometimes downright rude. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere, not just this particular building, but the management company as well. They are awful. The apartments look very charming since they have the old Milwaukee feel, but once you start living there, you'll realize that they are disgusting and VERY poorly maintained. Also, I don't think they clean or paint the units at all once the previous tenant moves out because the condition of the units upon move in (and not just mine) are a disgrace. Seriously - stay away.
