Best

my family has been going to Ken's for years. I try to go there 3 or 4 times a month. I have ordered almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I would recomme...

Worst

I went thinking I was going to a top rate steak house. It was more like going to a normal every day place. Nothing exciteing about it and for what you get the price is on the high...

We love it 5/11/2012

Since first trying out Ken's a few months ago (well except when I was a kid 35 years ago) we have been making it a point to go back once a week. We love the atmosphere - the food has been great and its affordable. The bar area has plenty of TVs so we can watch our sports while we have a drink and dine on seafood stuffed mushrooms. We had my parents accompany us recently and everything was great....no complaints about the prime rib or tenderloin, or the seafood casserole. In all very pleasant and relaxing. more

Disappointed 2/1/2012

After hearing about this place on the radio for months, we decided to drive the half hour and check it out. We went on a Wednesday night around 7:30 - a bonus for me as they have a prime rib special on Wednesday's. We were seated and promptly greeted and given drinks. We were then ignored for 10 minutes before placing our order. I ordered the prime rib, medium, he the Delmonico steak medium rare. Our app was ok, hard to screw up potato skins. Our salads came- the house salad was a bowl of oversized iceberg lettuce strips , two small onion rings and about a third of a tomato that I cut into 6 pieces. Other tables were offered fresh cracked pepper, ours, not so much. We finally broke down and asked for bread which our server neglected to offer. The meals arrived... Mine was more medium rate, but all in all, ok. The steak on the other hand was medium on its way to med well. More concerning, not a drop of juice dropped out of the steak. 10 minutes later, our server checked back, the steak was sent back. 5 minutes later a new steak arrived. It looked great from the outside but one cut and it was clearly char-rare. We sent it back again and declined any further attempts at feeding him. In all, my biggest issues were: poor ambiance. There were bright lights shining down on the table from the ornamental lights... The lights should have been dimmed for a white table cloth place. The service was slow and inconsistent from table to table. The veg choices were carrots or butternut squash... That's a lot of orange. The steaks were just off. Something I'd expect from Denny's, not a ""steak house"". I'm not sure how you get meat that DRY. My only thought is that they were fired off ahead of time and reheated to order. The best thing we had was the cornbread, and that's just not enough to justify ever returning. more

never disappointed 12/16/2008

my family has been going to Ken's for years. I try to go there 3 or 4 times a month. I have ordered almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. yes, the salad is simple, that's what makes it so nice. and when you go, get the house dressing, it's better than the one they sell in the bottle. the clam chowder is great, so is the french onion soup. speaking of onion, order the onion rings, they are hand made. the steaks, the lamb chops, and the prime rib are all good. the baked stuffed shrimp is delicious. also, the baked scrod has always been good. make sure you leave room for dessert....try the apple pie with ice-cream, or there famous cheese cake. Pros: free parking, large dinning room and nice cocktail lounge. Cons: they dropped some items off the menu that I liked, clam casino's, fruit cup, frozen pudding ice-cream. more

Always been one of my favorite places 10/30/2008

Ken's has always been one of my favorite places to eat. I went there a month ago with my mother and sister and had a terrific meal. They both had steak, and I had the schrod. Terrific! Our family has been going there for years. My mom and dad went there many, many years ago for an Anniversary back in the Pros: Parking, location, music on the weekends more

Avoid going, want steak or great food go to the OUTBACK they are very promising! 10/23/2008

My husband and I had come to Ken's steakhouse restaurant last night 10-22-08 after 7:30pm. I was very impressed with your establishment and the employees but that really all I have good to say about our visit. Pros: The employees and the cleanness Cons: The food was very plain and over priced, Be prepared to leave hungry! more

Getting Sick and Ken's Steak House Not Caring 8/20/2008

A friend and I went one day to Ken's Steak House. My friend had not eaten anything else that day but after eating fillet mignon and a salad she came down sick that night. She spent the whole night throwing up and going to the bathroom. more

Steak and service is fantastic...very nice staff and live music 9/15/2007

I was so impressed with Ken's I heard it was for old people I'm not old the food was great a really nice atmosphere and live music, the lounge is so great with the High D T.Vs Pros: parking service live music and nice people Cons: a little bit of a wait on a saturday night more

Expensive and Not Worth It 7/18/2007

Kens Steak House is extremely expensive and I for one think that it's not worth it. The Atmosphere is nice but the food is way over price paying $5 for soup and $28 for a 14 ounce steak. I would probably rather go to Bugaboo Creek Steak House instead. The atmosphere isn't quite as nice but the food is just as good if not better than Kens for half the price. more

Not worth the $100 Tab for 2 3/24/2007

I went to Ken's tonight for dinner and I was not impressed. When I spend $100 for a meal for two people, I expect more then I can make at home. We were seated in the first 20 minutes we were in the restaurant, which was nice, not too long of a wait. When we were seated, I don't think our waitress was that attentive to our needs, all though it was a busy night there, she could have come around more often. Second, the table we sat in was in a high traffic area, and when people walked by you could feel the floor moving and it rattled the table, that was a little annoying. The food: the bread basket was a nice start, the salad was boring but the dressing was good, it was Ken's, the Steak was ordinary...my grill does the same, the mashed potatoes tasted boxed and the butternut squash was not bad. My husband?s food was the same as mine. We got dessert to go, and again nothing special. I had never been to Ken's and wanted to try it. Well now the thrill is gone. I would not go back to this place again. It was not bad, but I think my expectation was that it was going to be great and it wasn't. Pros: Old School, hard working staff, great bar for pre meal drinks Cons: Not a great value, not exceptional food for the price, more

The Epitome of Mediocrity 5/3/2006

The planked trnderloin was cooked medium rare as ordered but had far too much gristle. The sirloin was cooked rare as ordered. The baked potatoed were also rare. All in all an average meal at an above average price. more

I thought it was great!!! 4/6/2006

I was out to dinner with my fiance last Saturday. I had an awesome steak cooked perfectly. My fiance is a vegetarian and she had the eggplant, she loved it! The service was outstanding and the piano player made it a romantic evening. I highly recommend Ken's. Pros: Quality food, Good Service, Romantic Cons: Crowded more

Pee-yew 10/25/2005

Decent food, good service. Smelly old carpet from the Eisenhower era. more

The place was great 10/4/2005

I grew up in this area and remember Ken's Steak house from years back. I recently went there again and found it even better than before. The steak was great, everything overall was terrific. I recommend this restaurant, and will go back again. more

Worth the visit 10/4/2005

Ken's is a one of a kind place definitley worth the trip. The food and value are good. The salad does leave a little to be desired but the steak with mashed potatoes makes up for it. Pros: Great food, atmosphere, value Cons: salads more

Fair 7/11/2005

I went thinking I was going to a top rate steak house. It was more like going to a normal every day place. Nothing exciteing about it and for what you get the price is on the high side and the service on the low side. Cons: High Price, Poor Service more

Not Worth the Trip 6/6/2005

Salad dressing was terrible-steak was tasteless. I love steak...but to be called a steakhouse...sorry...ill never go back. more

I don't agree 5/25/2005

I've been at Ken's twice and both of my meals were great, yes it is a little expensive, but I thought it was worth it. I really have no complains! The staff was nice, and made the experience a good one! Sorry if you had a bad experience but overall I think it is a good restaurant! Pros: food, staff, ambience more
