After hearing about this place on the radio for months, we decided to drive the half hour and check it out. We went on a Wednesday night around 7:30 - a bonus for me as they have a prime rib special on Wednesday's. We were seated and promptly greeted and given drinks. We were then ignored for 10 minutes before placing our order. I ordered the prime rib, medium, he the Delmonico steak medium rare. Our app was ok, hard to screw up potato skins. Our salads came- the house salad was a bowl of oversized iceberg lettuce strips , two small onion rings and about a third of a tomato that I cut into 6 pieces. Other tables were offered fresh cracked pepper, ours, not so much. We finally broke down and asked for bread which our server neglected to offer. The meals arrived... Mine was more medium rate, but all in all, ok. The steak on the other hand was medium on its way to med well. More concerning, not a drop of juice dropped out of the steak. 10 minutes later, our server checked back, the steak was sent back. 5 minutes later a new steak arrived. It looked great from the outside but one cut and it was clearly char-rare. We sent it back again and declined any further attempts at feeding him. In all, my biggest issues were: poor ambiance. There were bright lights shining down on the table from the ornamental lights... The lights should have been dimmed for a white table cloth place. The service was slow and inconsistent from table to table. The veg choices were carrots or butternut squash... That's a lot of orange. The steaks were just off. Something I'd expect from Denny's, not a ""steak house"". I'm not sure how you get meat that DRY. My only thought is that they were fired off ahead of time and reheated to order. The best thing we had was the cornbread, and that's just not enough to justify ever returning.
