Very Slow!!! And not worth the money, even with coupon 12/31/2010

Last night I took my family to this restaurant for a nice year-end meal. What we received was probably the worst restaurant experience in a ""fine dining"" establishment in many years. We were in the restaurant for over 2 1/2 hours. We were seated at a hibachi table by ourselves with 5 open seats. The ordering process took over 40 minutes. Now there was not a mad rush of people coming in, so we assumed when we ordered, our chef would come sometime soon. He did... 45 minutes later and after our table filled up with a family of 4 and they ordered (about an hour and half after our arrival).\r \r That by itself was not so bad, but the table next to us came in with a family of seven 45 minutes after we arrived and finished eating 40 minutes before. You do the math!\r \r We ordered an appetizer and two sushi orders plus our main meals. After 2 trips chasing the server down, appetizer came timely, but sushi came in shifts... 20 minutes apart. After 2 more trips chasing our server down and our chef came, he got one of our main orders wrong... forgot to bring a lighter to do the “onion volcano” and served vegetables last, after everybody had eaten their main meat order. \r \r Check served immediately upon receiving dessert. Go figure!! It will be my last dollar spent at Kegun Japanese Steakhouse. \r \r more

Kegun Japanese Douglasville 5/29/2010

Food-wise Kegun is very, very good. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is as good as the local Tokyo. The staff has been nothing less than steller.... other than a semi-goofy guy (young guy with glasses) that they have attempting to cook for them. I think a good and thorough cleaning would draw more patrons. Pros: Great food Cons: Could use a good cleaning more

Real Traditional Japanese FOOD! 7/9/2009

I enjoyed ice cold Japanese beverage and fresh sushi! This place really loves their customers, you feel the energy as soon as you walk in. They sit you down promptly and they have cool areas to sit down with big crowds or just hang at the sushi bar like I did! They make sushi fresh on the spot and keep your glass full!!! I highly recommend this place people in the Douglasville are or surrounding areas. It is fun and the food is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Atmosphere and Quality of Food Cons: NOTHING more

Freshest Sushi and Affordable! 10/2/2006

The sushi is ALWAYS fresh at this restaurant! The staff is very friendly and has always been very accomodating. It has several areas for larger crowds or small tables if you are with a smaller crowd. I actually prefer this sushi over any of the well known places in the city!\r \r Drawback: Parking... Their parking lot is very small - maybe 5-6 cars max so you have to find alternate parking. Not a big deal to me as I am not afraid to walk but may be something to note for others. more

Yes, there is good sushi in Douglasville 5/20/2002

I live in Atlanta; much of my family lives in Carrollton. When we want to eat out together, we often meet in the middle and have dinner at Kegon. The 'dinner and a show' is pretty standard fare -- if you've seen it once, you've seen it as many times as you need to see it. The real surprise here is the sushi. Fresh fish is well-prepared by chefs who actually know what they're doing. Often times, Kegon's sushi bar fares better than many places I frequent in Atlanta. Very impressive! Pros: Good sushi more
