Terrible service 10/4/2010

I was excited to try this place - I had been given a coupon for buy one get one free from a friend and had heard decent things about their food. However, I will never return to Kaya while in Columbus due to their terrible customer service. Initially the waitress was willing to accept our coupon, but right before the food came out the manager came out to tell us he would not honor the deal. What kind of restaurant sends out coupons then gives customers a hard time about using them? The food was nothing to write home about, either. I really do not recommend this place - give your business to another restaurant that actually values its customers and treats them with respect. more

Best Sushi and Authentic Asian Cuisine in Columbus! 5/2/2008

I've been to various Asian restaurants in Ohio as well as the US, and Kaya has to be one of the best! I'm a frequent guest and still have nothing to complain about. The service is excellent and welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. You NEVER have to ask for refills. I love the sushi rolls and Korean food the best. The sushi is so fresh and the rolls unique and tasty! I love the little side dishes you receive with your main entree. It's like getting multiple meals for the price of one! One thing to note: these dishes are meant to be shared so be sure to come with a group! I can't wait to visit Kaya again! Pros: Quantity & Quality of Food, Excellent Service Cons: Nothing I can think of more

Served right away 3/18/2008

I liked this place. They have lots of interesting and different Asian foods and ways to serve. The tables are very eclectic and you can sit at one with a mini grill right in front of you or at a hibachi family style. If you order the Korean items, you may get a very large number of smaller and very interesting items. My son was overwhelmed but is up to the challenge for the next time. All in all, I liked it as well as Ahai Hana. Pros: Lots of interesting items Cons: Can't think of a one more

Worst service, enough to counter the slightly above par food. 3/9/2008

Well, I've been into Kaya several times, each time hoping that the horrible service we received the last time was a fluke, however, we've come to appreciate how unwelcome we are at their restaurant. We had to make several attempts to get our servers attention for more sauce and napkins (although, the busboys were very friendly and made sure our waters and tea remained filled at all times). One night after an extremely long conference, I called ahead at 9:30 and asked if the restaurant was still serving dinner (they close at 10:00 pm) as I had several business clients in town and had heard of the food. They seated us, took our food order, and upon serving dinner, asked us to pay and leave as the restaurant closes at 10:00. I was embarassed for my guests but mostly embarassed for the restaurant - this is how they ""take care"" of their guests? I definitely have given them more than fair share of chances to improve upon their version of a nice dining experience and will not be back anytime soon. Pros: Quick seating Cons: The worst service I have ever experienced in town on a consistent basis and not kid-friencly more

Kudos for Korean! 5/1/2006

Went to dinner here with a group of eight co-workers, one of Korean heritage whom graciously guided us through our selections. We sat at the BBQ table, which was a lot of fun and highly recommended. I found the service to be great - our waiter was very attentive and assisted us with our food preparations. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what we ate since someone else ordered for the table, but the hot stone bowls are highly recommended - you can't go wrong to try one! Pros: authentic, fun, great service more

One of my Favorites ! 6/13/2004

I live south of Wheeling, WV and I travel to Columbus about once a month. This is my favorite place to dine in Columbus. The food is excellent, the service is also excellent. I usually order a vegetarian dish. The food is perhaps a bit pricey, but the amount of food presented is overwhelming. I usually dine there with a business contact or my mother. Pros: top quality food, generous amounts, TASTY more

unexpectedly cool 1/27/2003

In what seems to be a rather ordinary area of town, a niftily redesigned fast food building houses what I would call a true treasure. First impressions are important, and this restaurant puts forth a great one. It is clean and fairly quiet, well lit but not overly bright. The service was very good and the food great! I have already recommended this spot to several friends and will continue to do so. Pros: plenty of parking, good food, good service Cons: not easy to find more
