Kavana Healing Arts Spa

First of all the environment is wonderful. The spa is centrally located, yet tucked away. It is located in an older house with wood floors and big comfortable bathrooms. It is intimate and private, and always smells wonderful. The massage I had was life changing. I suffered with migraines for many years and Ady in a few sessions was able to diagnose and treat the problem - muscle tension in my neck and jaws. Within a few sessions I no longer sufferd with headaches. I do not know what I would do without her. Ashley helped my skin immensely! She improved the appearance of fine lines around my eyes. She used microdermabrasion that she applied manually, not with a machine, so that she had complete control and could even work around the eyes, which can't be done otherwise. Simply wonderful. I have had back pain for many years. I have seen chiropractors and massage therapists and used many different tools to relieve my back pain. Ady has been a blessing. She has been the most effective in relieving my back pain. She has exceptional skills at reading my body and adjusting her approach to my needs. Ady is also truly caring about her clients. She takes the time to make me feel comfortable and she has helped me to learn how to take care of myself. She has even given me techniques to use between massage that have really helped. I recommend her to anyone. I have also had a facial by Ashley, it was amazing. She created a soothing environment and she used wonderful products and techniques. Ady, Ashley, and Dana are wonderful caregivers. They are very knowledgeable about skin care and massage therapy and have created a nice place to work for themselves and a haven for their clients. Ady is very kind and giving, Ashley is gentle and calm, and Dana can chase away the demons in your achy body. I highly recommend a regular dose of Kavana to maintain your sanity and balance. I have received years of massages and physical therapy for TMJ and fibromylgia. Ady is indeed an expert at understanding how your body is connected and thus finding the true source of your pain or discomfort and relieving it. To begin, I want to say that I have gotten regular massages for years so have quite a bit of experience with different massage therapists. I have now gotten a number of massages from Ady at Kavana and just wanted to pass on to others the relaxing and healing experience I've had. Ady has a very calm and comfortable presence and is gifted at ""reading"" the body and then working with the body to heal itself. I had had trouble with my feet hurting for some time and did not even think to mention it to Ady prior to my first massage with her. When she began to work on my feet, she exclaimed that one of them must really be hurting me...and indeed, it was! She then explained what she thought was wrong with my foot (which an orthopedist had missed!!) and worked on it for a very long time (I admit, it was slightly painful but well worth it - as I said, she worked toward real healing, not just relaxation). She then suggested a little tool I could use at home to exercise my foot and almost immediately my pain was eliminated!! Since then, I have had several massages with Ady and each time she ""reads"" issues with my body even if I have fogotten to mention them to her. She is also VERY respectful of my tolerance for deeper work, always asking what I prefer. The ""ambiance"" of the rooms is very nice - spacious, quiet and pretty. Although I usually see Ady for my massage, when I heard Maria was running a summer massage special, I decided to give her a try. Glad I did. She is very friendly and has a great touch. I felt very comfortable & relaxed. She knew when you be gental and when to use deeper presure. She worked out all my aches and pains and I will definatly be going back soon. This is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been to. The atmosphere is so nice and the people that work here are very friendly and professional. I have had work done by Ashley and it was by far the best experience ever! Her touch is so soft and she makes you feel so beautiful. She offers tips and ways to keep your skin clear and is very knowledgeable on all skin types. I will continue being one of Ashley's clients. Ashley's facials are a miracle!!! I have spent hundreds of dollars, if not thousands tyring to control adult-onset acne with doctors. My girlfriend had been pointing me towards Ashley for a while but I felt that if a doctor could not help me, I was out of luck. Kavana Spa had been donating beauty sessions to the charity that my friend and I are involved in, and I happened to win a gift certificate to see Ashley. Needless to say, after my very FIRST session with her, my skin did a 180!!! She put me on a regimen of facials and peels and gave me great natural products to use and now I get constant compliments on how my skin is so smooth and how it glows. All I can say is the Elizabeth Arden 's Red Doors have nothing on Ashley's facials. I have been to the most respected and highly noted spas in the world and I thought I had already been touched by the best...until I happened upon Ashley one day. I had been desperate to get a facial and an unmentionable local spa couldn't keep my usual scheduled appointment and a friend from the Houstonian told me to ""go see her girl."" I have gone to her 5 times now and each time I think I'm in heaven. She's very knowledgable, refreshing and her touch...OMG! Being in my late 30's she knows exactly how to handle my skin and more importantly me. The people at Kavana Healing Arts Spa they really do know what they are doing, I have in the past had a few facials here and there, but never have I felt as comfortable as I did when I went to Kavana. Ashley is amazing she made me feel as if I was top priority, and not just another client. After my first facial with her I started to see a difference immediately, thank you Ashley. The all-natural skin care product line that she uses is great. Keeps my face looking clean, clear, and free form breakouts. After meeting Ashley she introduced me to Ady and I booked a massage.
