Editorial review from Citysearch 11/18/2013

Possibly the worst customer service record in Austin. The son acts as he is really irrirtated to look up a part. They rebuilt a pwc for me and put two pistons in backwards. After they fixed it again, they told me not bring any warranty work unless I purchased it from them. How can they stay in business with such a bad attitude? more

Seriously RUDE Dealer 12/6/2011

I bought my 2007 VStar at this dealer and after the ""meh"" experience of the purchase I've never been back. Now, after receiving a safety recall notice I tried to schedule a repair with them and was treated very poorly and talked to as if I was some punk kid instead of a valuable customer. I've never been talked to like that from a business that should be hoping for more of my patronage. Seriously, I expect to be treated with respect when contacting a business, not talked to like your teenage child. more

been using them for years and always great 9/2/2010

I have had many bikes mostly Yamaha but a few other brands they have worked an them all always done what they said they would. There good no nonsense people I work in retail and we all know how people can be. As long as there hear I'll take my bikes there. Thanks you Kasson Family more

Terrible Place to Get Work Done!! RIPOFF!!! 8/16/2010

These guys suck!!!!!!!! I had rear tire put on my dirt bike and the tire was a cycle gear for $65 but they had it for $80 so I decided to have it put on there so I didnt have to drive all the way up north. Ended up being $195.00 after they finished!! WTF?!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! more

Don't take your bike here to get worked on!!!!! 5/8/2009

This place has the worst mechanics I have EVER come across! Pros: location Cons: Mechanics are the worst!!!!!! more

Son is a graet person, but the owner hates life and takes it out on you. 1/31/2009

Ok, I understand that our economy isn't doing too hot, and you need to make ends meet. Pros: Will Kasson (son of owner), staff Cons: Bill Kasson (owner) more

d_ckheads 9/5/2008

I really try to bend over backwards to use local businesses, but it appears to give these guys pain to help you (and take your money). I asked if they wanted to mount an airhorn on my bike once: they said they didn't feel like it ! (crazy stuff). It's like you're putting them out by asking to buy something from them - their reason for having a shop. The prices are high, the service is low. Why go here? (except there aren't many shops in S. Austin). People who are saying their service is good 1) haven't been to the shop or 2) are their buddies or both. Pros: knowledgeable Cons: d-heads more

Horribly rude service / people 7/15/2008

Father and Son seem to share the same arrogant and condescending attitude. more

Local, Family owned. 5/24/2008

I love these guys. I bought a little scooter here and they were great. They also continue to be pleasant and helpful when I call. Pros: very knowledgable Cons: expect you to be respectful to all...is that really a con? lol more

Honest, Straight up, and knowledgable, No salesman. Just great experience and price. 11/9/2007

Went in to get a price on inspecting a Roadie I was considering buying. Ended up buying a new 06 Roadie that was on the showroom floor. Father and Son operation was very knowledgable, polite and proffesional. Pros: Established and Knowledgable Cons: Far from where I live, but will never go anywhere else more

Best motorcycle shop in town! 6/12/2007

I bought my 04 Yamaha Road Star from Kasson's for three reasons. First they had superior knowledge about the bikes. Second they had a good price and third because they didn't try too hard to sale me a bike. They gave me the information I needed and didn't push. Since then I have been very satisfied with their service. I live far North so it would be much easier for me to use a north Austin shop for service but I trust the Kasson's and go way out of my way to use them. I had some repairs done and they went out of their way to get Yamaha involved and had them cover most of the cost even though I was past the warranty. They stand behind their products and get the manufactures to do the same. To use a popular term, they are ""old school"". They're not going to chat your ear off and make you feel warm and fuzzy, but they will treat you fairly, honestly and they know what they're doing. Pros: Good honest knowledgeable people Cons: Too far from my house more

Great customer service and right in the neighborhood 3/10/2007

Had to add a review to counter the bad customer service reviews. My buddy had recommended Kasson?s as a nice place. So last year I went to get my Harley-Davidson Sportster inspected. I was expecting to get the cold shoulder not having a Japanese bike, but Bill Kasson himself waited on me, inspected the bike and went out of his way to fit an inspection plate on my bike. He was very careful to make sure it didn't rub against the fender. I also bought a pair of black rubber handgrips. I?m going back in a couple of days for this year?s inspection. I like keeping my business in the neighborhood. more

Bad Customer Service 8/21/2006

I wont go back! Trust me! Rude Man. funny how he can stay in business being rude to paying customers. I didnt like Woods Fun Center either Pros: Leaving the shop was the best part of being there more

Good Experience 5/20/2006

I was very pleasantly surprised to find a shop that did not have high-pressure salesmen. I wanted to look around and was able to do as I pleased for over an hour. Although I did not buy at this time, I will consider buying from this dealer in the future. Mr. Kasson was very knowledgeable about his product and made me feel at home. There were no stupid questions asked. He answered every question I had and still handled a store full of people. I find it hard to believe parts of the negative verbatim he received. For the record, it has been my experience that most dealers no matter how large usually end up ordering parts from time to time. No dealer can afford to stock every part made. Especially after market parts that may or may not sell. Nice shop, nice people, good experience. Pros: Inventory, People, Size more

Worst customer service experience in Austin 5/4/2006

I bought almost $500 worth of merchandise at this store. I came back the following Monday to see about getting some better clamps for my new exhaust and Bill told me he would need to order them. VERY POLITELY, I told him I could just order them myself and he rudely told me to go measure the pipes myself then. After I spent all that money there I asked him about Amsoil. I didn't mention buying it anywhere else but he put 2 and 2 together and figured I had. When I admitted buying the oil at Carquest he didn't like that either. I wasn't even going to tell him. Lastly, I asked him about a possible defect in the product I purchased. He took the time to berate me for complaining to an acquaintance of mine and he told me not to call him or visit his store again. Pros: None, None, None Cons: Hates competition, limited selection, parking more
