The short of it: If you want to go to a fun looking place with cool music, visit during happy hour or with a Groupon, when it will be a little cheaper - but go with very low expec...

We had a great time! 8/18/2005

We had our anniversary at Kasbah, it was great experience, everything exceeded our exceptions, food, ambience, service. It was relaxing, romantic, unique and affordable! We will finitely go back! Pros: Romatic, tredy scene more

User review by phedre 7/12/2005

Agreeing with some of the other reviews, going to this restaurant is like traveling to a far away and exotic place - just by stepping through the front door. Everything about this place is simply amazing, the atmosphere - the food - the service. It is a place to spend a long and lingering evening with friends or your loved one(s). In my opinion - allow at least 2 hours for dinner and take advantage of the $25 feast. I had the Chicken w/Apricots as my main course, but also was able to sample the Kasbah Couscous and the Lamb w/Eggplant, which my friends had ordered. The flavors in every dish I tried were wonderful and sometimes new and interesting. My absolute favorite was the appetizer B'stilla! I can't wait to ""travel"" there again. Pros: Ambiance, Food, Affordable more

KASBAH - WORLDS ABOVE THE REST! 6/30/2005

Not sure where the review below this one came from but for the record...Kasbah does not host Hookah. I think you made a mistake on your review! more

Fabulous! 6/24/2005

This restaurant has the best food and the most beautiful design and decor of any Moroccan restaurant I've ever experienced. Even the menu is gorgeous! We've dined there three times, and everything we've tried has been outstanding. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing, the service has been uniformly gracious; and they feature bellydancers on the weekends (Thurs - Sat). Street parking was ample. Even when full and busy, it has never been noisy, and there is a tent room that is perfect for a private party. One caveat: There are screens in one of the rooms that create intimate areas for small groups, but make it difficult to see much of the bellydancing. The other room gives more opportunity to see the dancers. Reservations are a good idea, especially on the weekend. more

WOW - great find! 6/12/2005

I was completely blown away. Stepping in off 85th, I thought I had left Ballard and entered Morocco. We were seated in the Tent room, complete with waiters in authentic dress & beautiful brass tables. Music and belly dancers added to the ambience. We had the ""Feast""(only$25), a full five course meal. Each course only got better. The mint tea is a must - all four of us got soemthing different and we all shared. I can't remember the names of what we had, but nothing was below fantastic. Even the Owner came out to make sure we were happy. As we left, we were already planning our return. Pros: Ambience, Food, Price Cons: Parking on street, park in Safeway lot more

Owner Message
  • If you live in the Northwest you have to check out Kasbah, Seattle's best Moroccan restaurant. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Ballard, the place is all done up with the usually fancy mediterranean ponges, drapey fabric and ornate tables but somehow it still feels homey and relaxed. It's the sort of place where you could sit and drink mint tea for hours and their food is fantastically authentic.
Try out the Kasbah D'yaffa Feast, the 5 course dinner. It begins with soup, salad and b'stilla. You have a choice of dinner entree, ending with desert and mint tea. There is a great selection of beer, wine & spirits. Enjoy live mediterranean belly dancing every Friday and Saturday night.
Kasbah Moroccan Restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two or for a larger group of friends.
