Wonderful Experience! 12/28/2010

Last weekend my family and I came to the Kasbah for dinner. I have to say it was absolutely wonderful and a great experience. My family was glad we chose to try something new! The waiter was friendly and the food was delicious. We are definitely going to come in very soon again. more

Amazing! 12/26/2010

My Family and I decided to go out to eat on Christmas at the Kasbah, it definitely was a great idea. We enjoyed our time there. The food was amazing and the service was great. The waiter was welcoming and friendly. And seeing all the families enjoying their time was spreading the Christmas spirit. It was a great choice to go to the Kasbah at this time of year and we will definitely go another time. more

Disappointed 12/25/2010

I really really wanted to enjoy this restaurant based on all the reviews I read. I chose this as a unique place to take the family on Christmas Eve. Poor choice. First, $30 per person for the ""feast"" IS NOT worth it. The food was decent but that's it. If you go -- just order off the Ala Carte menu. Seriously! The decor was nice and it was certainly different, but nothing to write home about. The waiter had ZERO personality. At the beginning -- when we washed our hands -- he poured rose water over our hands from a vase. We rubbed it in. That's it. No towels, etc. There was no belly dancing even though it was a Friday. I just felt that they were filling in the gaps because it was a slow night. Of all the expenditures I made this holiday season -- this was the worst. I really feel ripped off. So much so that I felt compelled to spend my time even writing this review. Oh, and the ""dessert"" was one pear (I think that's what it was) between the four of us, with chocolate sauce drizzled over it. Geez. more

An amazing restaurant and wonderful experience 9/17/2010

We visited Kasbah after reading the reviews on CitySearch. Our meal was outstanding. It was a feast for the senses as well with fresh cinnamon, rose water and the mint tea. We loved the belly dancing and the staff made us feel at home. It was the first of many intended visits. more

GOOD FOOD but just be careful paying 7/13/2010

No doubt the FOOD was awesome BUT just be careful when paying cause I got charged twice. Called my bank to dispute the transaction and left a message for Kasbah. They were good in returning my call back. I have to wait for a couple of days to get my charged reversed. It's just a hassle. Pros: Good Food Cons: Payment error due to faulty maching more

A wonderful experience 12/6/2009

I am a very picky eater, much to my husband?s dismay. So when he suggested Kasbah one day I was very apprehensive but the second we walked in I knew I was in for a treat, the atmosphere is lush and exotic with pillowed low benches or big bean bag type pillows for seats, draped fabric on the ceilings and walls and gorgeous carpets all over. The wait staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and informative, telling us exactly what was in every course as they served them. Each meal comes as a 5 course experience, first is a vegetable soup, then an eggplant and pepper spread with wonderful bread, third is some kind of chicken and almond mixture (or couscous for vegetarians upon request) in phyllo dough, the fourth course is the meal you actually order-all options are delicious, the only thing better than your meal?s smell is your meal?s taste-and fifth is dessert with Moroccan tea, lavishly served in a Moroccan teapot and teacups. While not cheap, Kasbah gives you a huge bang for your buck. They also have belly dancers on weekends, incase the 5 course feast isn?t enough entertainment! Pros: Amazing, huge portions, great choices, atmosphere & staff. Cons: Pricey, can be difficult to get to. more

Highly Recommended 5/18/2009

I attended the Kasbah feeling great and warmed up to the enviroment inside. The food smelled and tasted great. The flavor was perfect and just right to get you eating more. The service kept you in your seat. The waiter was welcoming and was checking in on us to see if we were doing great and we were enjoying our time here. I highly recommend the Kasbah, you wont regret coming here, trust me its a journey you soon wont forget, I'm definitly coming back. Pros: Everything is perfect Cons: Nothing more

Truly delicious and authentic food , an experience to remember, two thumbs up! 2/21/2009

What an experience, I could have easily been sitting in Casblanca. Between the exceptionally food, outstanding hospitality, excellent service, exotic spices, stimulating decor of tapestry and testures, along with the taste of jazzman tea, smell of rose water, and the sight and sound of their belly dancer , we felt a thousand miles away from Seattle. What a treat! I went with my friend from Morocco (who is very particular about his food) and rated the food and experience a Top 10, highlighting how authentic and genuine everything was. Kasbah is diffinitely a place to come back too and recommend to others!! Pros: an authentic experience more

Kasbah Leaves me BREATHLESS! 2/13/2009

I attended a function at Kasbah a couple of days ago and my experience left me BREATHLESS! From the perfect decor, sensuous smells, mouth watering food (the lamb just falls off the bone), and stellar staff...I have not had such a stimulating experience at a restaurant in a very long time. To top the evening off, Kasbah also had a Belly Dancing that evening. The Belly Dancer was beautiful, engaging, and an obvious pro! The group did not want our magical night to end. Pros: Food, Price, Decor, Belly Dancer, Service, Parking Cons: Nada! more

Simply Amazing 2/4/2009

When me a my friends entered the Kasbah It was amazing! Me and six of my closest friends dined at the Kasbah for my Sweet Sixteen. We took the five course meal which was the most delicious meal ever. We started out with soups then the salad and the b'stalla. All of it was delicious I ordered the chicken with apricots and my friends ordered either the Lamb or Bruchette I tried all of it. I was so happy that I got to have my sweet sixteen at the Kasbah! I totally recommened it to anybody who wants to try something new! more

My favorite restaurant! 1/31/2009

kasbah is awesome! . I went for a friend's birthday dinner and we had a lovely time. The ambiance of the place is great. The food is absolutely delicious- you must try the lamb . The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It was just a lovely night and the ambiance of the place really made it great. And while not dirt cheap, it's definitely affordable. This is the kind of place that people search for in Seattle . I will definitely be back. Pros: beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food more

What a waste! 1/30/2009

I visited the place with a group of friends, so I got a chance to taste at least 4 different entrees, the food was inedible tasted stale and was not even warmed up, the server was rude and could not be bother to check how we are doing even though the place was quiet empty. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

i love it 11/20/2008

The decor was gorgeous. excellent food Every dish is more exciting than the last and culminates with delicious mint tea but the key is to relax and enjoy the experience. Our waitress was great! She was so nice... They did an excellent job on a very busy evening Great for a large group or party. You're paying for the experience and very reasonable for all the food you get (they are happy to give you a box for all the lef overs). more

Wonderful place 11/19/2008

Went to Kasbah last Saturday the place was full, great food, lovely and unique atmosphere, Pros: food, service Cons: parking more

What a great place! 9/8/2008

My wife and I use City Search quite frequently when we travel to find good dining experiences. This one was a home-run, subsequently being the catalyst for me writing this brief review. The service at Kasbah was fantastic! The food hot and tasty and truly Moroccan. Expect an explosion of flavors that American cuisine does not have. The five course meal is the way to go and will provide ""a seam busting"" amount of food. The ambience is truly middle-eastern with Moroccan music playing in the background. This is a five star - good ambience, service, food, and reasonably priced. Pros: Good service, ambience, food, value. Cons: Parking is limited more

Highly Recommended 7/25/2008

When i came to the Kasbah, i loved it! It had amazing food and the decorations made me feel like i was in morocco. The customer service was 100% great. I also loved watching the Belly Dancer. The entertainment was cherry on top, it felt like I was really at morocco. I highly Recommend the Kasbah. more

Great Experience, So-so food 6/11/2008

We made reservations for 6 on Saturday night for our 5 year anniversary. Seated quickly, great friendly servers. We only saw servers when they're seating others or delivering another course. Pros: Smiling Service, Dancer, the light dessert, tea, great value, saffron rice Cons: No salt/pepper/spices for meat.. couldn't taste lemon in lemon chicken more

Owner Message
  • If you live in the Northwest you have to check out Kasbah, Seattle's best Moroccan restaurant. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Ballard, the place is all done up with the usually fancy mediterranean ponges, drapey fabric and ornate tables but somehow it still feels homey and relaxed. It's the sort of place where you could sit and drink mint tea for hours and their food is fantastically authentic.
Try out the Kasbah D'yaffa Feast, the 5 course dinner. It begins with soup, salad and b'stilla. You have a choice of dinner entree, ending with desert and mint tea. There is a great selection of beer, wine & spirits. Enjoy live mediterranean belly dancing every Friday and Saturday night.
Kasbah Moroccan Restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two or for a larger group of friends.
