Need More Focus 6/13/2008

The doctor is Ok, very friendly, but probably because has many many years experiences, so isn't that focus, \r First must remember the job is O.D (Not M.D---Medical Doctor for eye), make the most precise, accurate glass prescription is the No. 1, after this, then can check more others, the doctor is very busy, but still need to focus one by one, doesn't matter there is one or two persons are waiting, or can make each person exam schedule time a little longer, so it won't rush.\r Second, the outside service, I can't say it's bad, but not friendly, impatient to the customer, hope they can improve and get trained more professional way.\r more

Bad customer service 12/18/2007

The receiptionest usually has very bad altitude and very impatient. It happens constantly, not just occassionally. If you can speak English, go to other OD office. The people there are so used to rudeness because they in most time treat their non-English speaking patients that way. Pros: location is convinient to North San Jose and Non-English speaking patients Cons: Rude environment more

Greatest Optometrist 6/13/2007

I've been seeing Dr. Kao since I was in the 6th grade--I am now a junior in college. I think she's a great optometrist. She has so many patients, yet she still has a pretty good memory of her patients' conditions (granted you came in within the last few months for a check-up). It's also a big plus that she is completely fluent (read: no accents!) in both Mandarin and English, so when my parents came in with me as a kid, we all understood what she was saying. She is also very credentialed and experienced. Yes, some of the products are pricey, but it's a very comprehensive and professional office. Even the receptionists are very timely in reminding you of appointments or letting you know when you contacts/glasses are in. There are plenty of ""chain"" optometries and private practices closer to where I live in Cupertino, but even after nearly 10 years, the drive is definitely still worth it. I don't think I could trust any other optometrist as much as I do Dr. Kao. She is one of the reasons why I am studying to get into Optometry School. more

She likes to charge fees!! 1/25/2007

Dr. Kao charges \r 1. Exam fee\r 2. Soft Contact lenses fitting fee ($88)\r 3. Hard Contact Lenses fitting fee ($88)\r \r If you want to save money, then this is not the doctor to go to. My sister wanted both soft contacts and hard contacts and she told her she had to pay 2 * 88 + exam fee!! This is over $200 and she still has to pay for contacts!! more
