Kampai was Fantastic 2/4/2006

Our favorite, since it opened, has been Takashi in SLC. However, on 2/4/06, my wife, friends and I ate at Kampai apre skiing at Park City. Everything was terrific. The On Death Roll is hotter that hot but oh so tasty. The Shishito peppers appetizer was great. The tuna was so purple it looked like it just jumped out of the ocean. The service was very good and the wait staff friendly. Although Kampai won't replace Takashi on my favorite list, when in PC, try Kampai. You won't be sorry. Pros: Very Fresh Fish, Great Variety Cons: Parking sucks, Not very roomy more

Super Duper Sushi 5/17/2005

This could possibly be the freshest fish Ive ever tasted, The rolls were superb. Although I found it interesting that no one spoke japanes and that koreans owned this establishment. The prices were descent and the service was very good. Pros: freshness, service, variety Cons: only in Park City, I hate Park City, Why Park City more

Take your appetite somewhere else 1/31/2005

Unfortunately, we went to Kampai for a friend's b-day (after seeing it on this site). Dinner started off badly when the server threatened to charge us $100 because we made a reservation for 10 but a couple of people ended up not joining us. And things then got progressively worse from there. She even had the nerve to tell us that we hadn't spent enough (because we didn't order any alcohol). The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable but the server's behavior made it one of the worse dining experiences I've ever had. Pros: fairly inexpensive, good location Cons: horrible service, unfriendly staff more

Never Again... 1/30/2005

The night was great! I had no complaints...then I walked in the doors of Kampai. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. We were celebrating a special event and were excited to try out Kampai. I regret our restaurant selection. The food was fair and fairly priced, but the value of our dining experience dropped with the service. I have never experienced such rudeness from a server. Had I not been starving, I would have walked out. Don't make the mistake I did. Get your sushi elsewhere. Pros: location Cons: poor service, poor service, poor service more

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE...... 1/29/2005

I am still in shock on how badly the waitress at Kampai treated my friends and me. You think a restaurant would take care of a group of customers spending a couple hundred of dollars, WRONG!!!!!!! The food wasnt that good and I could live with the overly priced small portions, but the service was unbearable. The waitress was upset at out group for not ordering alcohol and only checked on us once during out dinner to see if things were ok. Never before have I been afraid of a waitress..... My advice to you NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!!! Cons: Horrible serivce, Small portions, Not that tasty more

Food was Delicious 10/4/2004

I got the Vegetable Udon and Tempura and I think I might have gotten 6 pieces of vege Tempura, a very full bowl of broth without the proper balance of noodle. The atmosphere was less than friendly and not quite up to par with the prices and quality of food. If you don't mind trading ambiance and adequate portions for food quality, then this is the place for you. Pros: food quality, food preparation Cons: , unfriendly, stingy portions more

better sushi/service elsewhere 7/8/2004

I have tried twice to take advantage of the half price maki rolls for lunch at Kampai. On both occasions, I have had an embarrassing discussion with the server regarding whether or not I was eligible to receive the discount. Note to Kampai: If you advertise a 50% discount in the newspaper, you don't require the customer to apply for a membership upon arrival to enable them to receive the discount on their next visit. So much for second chances. I would rather pay full price for great sushi at the Flying Sumo. Cons: , average food more

LOVE IT!! 10/13/2003

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! KIDS LOVE TO GO SIT AT THE SUSHI BAR AND ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED AND TREATED GREAT. NOT MANY SUSHI BARS HAVE MUCH PATIENCE FOR KIDS. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT. IT IS ALWAYS A PLEASURE. Pros: FOOD, SUSHI CHEFS, VALUE more

Great Sushi-Great Service 7/8/2002

Sushi- so good, i think it is the best in utah, great location too, and the service is superb- you got to try their spicy tuna roll and especially their funky roll Pros: Sushi, Service, Environment Cons: Price more

the smallest rainbow roll in the world 7/7/2002

We went there for lunch and ordered sushi rolls. The rainbow roll is so small, and just have 2 kind of fish. They overcharged on tips even they told us it was 50% off. Also, the service sucks... more
