They don't have their act together yet. I would avoid ordering from here until they get some kinks worked out. They left out an item, and got two others completely wrong--all delivered over two hours from time of order. Price for three rolls and a teriyaki box was $100. I was bummed. more

Im a sushi fanatic and I've tried just about everywhere in the city of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and still say Kamehachi is one of the best. The quality is a little better at the one down town across from second city compared the the one in Northbrook. Texture has a large part in the Sushi eating experience. Some places do dice cut the cucumber or any of the veggies, they just cut it into squares adding inconsistency. The fish is great, the sauces outstanding, and the appetizers and entrees are fantastic. Kamehachi is always a good eat, although a little expensive. I also recommend Sushi Mike's downtown if your looking for a smaller more personal sushi experience more

Decent sushi, but waaaay not worth the price. I received a small scoop of crab salad (crab martini), a six piece sushi roll and a mini shooter that was OK all for $32. What we thought was going to be lunch for 2 turned out to be a snack. more

Where's the fish 4/8/2008

My wife and I recently dined at Kamehachi in Northbrook, and we left just shocked and confused. We have been dinning at the restaurant for the last seven years, and besides the pricey sushi we were always happy with the environment and food quality. I understand that the economy is soft, but come on?what happened to the fish? We ordered a spider roll, turtle roll, shrimp tempura roll and a dragon roll. Half the pieces had a little tiny piece of fish/shrimp and some didn?t have anything besides fried batter in the middle. The sake was good however, but the food was absolutely awful, we spent $100 for five rice rolls. I hope that management makes some changes, and becomes more generous with the sushi. Pros: Location and dinning environment Cons: Food more

Horrible sushi but great service 6/19/2007

I am a big fan of Chicago sushi places like Bluefin, Coast, and Tsunami and I have seen great reviews for Kamehachi (probably one of the only few places I have not tried yet) and always wanted to stop by. Well, after spending some time shopping at Northbrook Court one afternoon, my best friend and I decided to skip our usual suburban sushi solution, Sushi Kaya in Skokie, and just head to Kamehachi that was just minutes away from the mall. Pros: service and location are great, pretty interior Cons: the maki rolls were terrible more

Wonderful 5/6/2006

For sushi it just don't get better than this. Even better made sushi than most places i've been to in Japan. more

One of the best Sushi places in Northern Burbs 11/4/2005

Excellent service and wonderful sushi. The menu is packed with sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese entrees. Service is friendly and helpful for those not familiar with Japanese cuisine. Pros: Food, Service, Dining Room Cons: Price more
