This was a terrific place to eat. We went there knowing nothing of sushi and never have eaten it before. The chef's there are masters. You tell them if you have any allergies and ...

Korean's have been fooling the public for years with their ""imitation"" Japanese. They even wear a Japanese headband, and speak the few Japanese words as you enter and exit.\r D...

Best Sushi on the Strip 9/5/2006

Really blown-away by how fresh the sashimi and sushi was... For appetizers, I tried the Tuna Sashimi with Ponzu Sauce as well as the White Fish Sashimi - both of which melted in my mouth. Nibbled on the Scallop Dynamite which was solid and not as heavy/creamy as other places. But it's the rolls that make this place awesome and unique -- try the Scallop Volcano, Salmon Skin, Korean BBQ, Fire Cracker, and Shrimp Killer Rolls. Or do what I did and just ask them to bring out what they recommend. You really can't go wrong.. And the ambience (especially) late at night is fun. On weekends, around 3 or 4am, you get a rush of locals and partygoers who energize the atmosphere. Gets rowdy but it's probably the best ""after-hours"" place in Vegas for post-drink eating and people-watching... Pros: Food, Ambience, Service Cons: Can get crowded late at night more

Hidden Gem 9/4/2006

If you're in Vegas and craving sushi and I mean real sushi (not the junk they churn out at the casino buffets) then Kaizen is it. I was very impressed with this place. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The ambiance is great for both dates and large party gatherings (plus it's open ridiculously late so it really hits the spot for that late night craving). Most importantly, the sushi was excellent. I saw an earlier review and interestingly I thought the exact same thing while dining there. ""How do they get such fresh sushi out in the desert?"" The presentation and creativity of the rolls were also outstanding. I can actually say that it's one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to and I'm from L.A.! Pros: Great food, Excellent service Cons: Unless I had a great time there just because of the company, NONE more

Innovative Mix of Traditional Sushi with Korean Flare 9/4/2006

About a 5 minute drive off the Vegas' Strip lies Kaizen, a discreet little Japanese fusion sushi restaurant that's open until 6 AM. Despite the fact that its ordinary ""shopping plaza"" exterior is no match for the glitz and glamour of the bright lights of the Strip's mega-hotels, the sleek and cool interior decor makes you feel as though you've entered a joint more classier and exclusive than any club on the Strip could offer. But, don't worry ... no need to grease the doorman here (although reservations are strongly suggested). \r \r Equally as impressive (if not, more) is the beautiful presentation of fusion rolls and dishes that blend the traditionally simple, yet subtle, tastes of fresh Japanese sushi with the bursting spices and sweetness typical of Korean cuisine. This 1-2 combo of complex flavors and textures dance around your mouth, leaving your tastebuds longing for more. From the bitesize filets of yellowtail garnished with pickled jalepenos (giving the right amount of kick) to the galbi (sweet Korean ribs) rolls, this place offers a mouthwatering experience not to be missed.\r \r In addition, Kaizen has a wide variety of sake and other alcoholic beverages. Always service with a smile, its wait staff is ready to offer some of the world's best sakes, as well as your typical domestic and Japanese beers, that compliment and clear your palette for the next dish. \r \r Whether you're a tourist or a Las Vegan (not sure if this is the correct term for a local), on a first date or with a large group, Kaizen is well worth the cab ride for dinner or an after-party meal in the wee hours. You will not be disappointed. Pros: Ambience, ample parking, close to the Strip more

Bacheor party place! 9/3/2006

We just threw a dinner for our bachelor party this weekend there and it was a great venue for us. We had about 15 guys and the long table near the front was an excellent place for us to drink up and get a little rowdy. The sake was the bomb! \r \r Great ambience, service was prompt and friendly, the food delicious and it was across the street from the Hard Rock so we walked over to hang out and gamble.\r \r Thanks to the owners for making it a great experience and working with us to set a prefixed menu. It would have been harder with so many guys but we had no problems getting a great mix of food and drinks! We didn't have to spend an arm and leg either.\r \r Pros: great for groups, food unique, ambience cool and service was great! Cons: the taxi guys don't know exactly where it is more

The ONLY place in vegas for sushi 8/31/2006

Kaizen's mix of traditional sushi and contemporary rolls is unparalled in Las Vegas. The mixing of the two evokes tastes that you do not want to miss! Try everything on the menu (especially the white fish). The atmosphere is lively and fun. Decor is simple, but with amazing attention to details. Service is excellent. \r The only equivalent would be its sister location in Henderson. more

Great Sushi! 8/30/2006

The sushi is fresh and innovative. I don't know how they get such fresh sushi in the desert, but I'm not complaining. The term ""Kaizen"" means change through continuous improvements, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else can be improved in this ""little jewel in the desert"". The waitstaff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially when ordering from their wide selection of fresh sushi. Will I go back? You better believe that this place is now a regular stopping ground for me. Also, this place will cater to large parties, and won't charge an arm and a leg like most Vegas places. Late night dining is also a great time for people watching here. 2 thumbs up, big time! more

The best place of Fusion roll & Sushi!!!! 8/29/2006

Compared to the other sushi restaurant, Kaizen were really cool. Good decoration, Shushi and fusion roll was almost art. The customer service was really good. Especially, eventhough it was pretty late time when I went there, they make me so energetic! I loved that place! \r I recommand that place for people who want to have a great party with the best food, best service, best music, and best drinks~!!! \r Thanks for the best service~!!!! \r Pros: service, food, music more
