Worst service, unauthentic (Korean) Japanese sushi restaurant 9/27/2007

I had bad experience with this restaurant....The service is the worst I ever experienced. Like Korean dry cleaner. I don't recommend it to anyone. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

GETTING WORSE EVERYTIME 8/22/2007

I've been going to Kabuki for 3yrs at least twice a month. However, lately the food quality has been going down the drain., hence, forcing me to experiment with other places such as Octopus or Zono at Burbank. more

Yummy Sushi Rolls 7/22/2007

Although it might not have the best sushi, their food is quiet good. Instead of getting stuff from their main menu, try getting rolls from their sushi list. My favorites are Lotus Roll, Alaskan Roll, Lobster Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, or if you want a healthier roll, Mountain Roll's good too (wrapped in lettuce). Each rolls are about $7-9 so it's very affordable. For drinks, flavored ice teas are awesome. I always get mango ice tea =) It is usually very packed and busy so it's better to make reservations, especially for dinners. Also, try their desserts. They're really good! Cons: packed, loud more

Decent sushi but gets extremely crowded 11/13/2006

I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're trying to catch a movie on a Friday night and are in any sort of a hurry. The waittimes can grow to over an hour and the service is almost nonexistant depending on where you're seated. I would suggest coming here for lunch during the week or on offtimes instead. Pros: decent sushi Cons: bad service during rushes more

alright sushi 11/13/2006

Although this is a chain, it's food is pretty good. I really like their iced green tea. They serve you edamame for starters. The deep-fried tofu was decent and so was the spicy tuna rolls. It can become crowded on a Friday night, so try to get there early. Pros: free parking Cons: busy on friday more

Best sushi for less than $20!! 9/23/2006

Kabuki is by far one of my favorite sushi restaurants. They have very good quality sushi (very fresh), fast service, and they have a 50% off menu! I can eat my fill of salmon, sea eel, and bean curd for less than $20! I've been to the Burbank location and the Old Town Pasadena location. Both places get pretty busy at night (especially Old Town Pasadena) so it's a good idea to make reservations, especially on the weekend. I like to go to the Burbank location for lunch--i'm seated immediately and get great service when i eat at the bar. Pros: Cheap, fresh sushi Cons: parking can be difficult on the weekends more

I've had better... 8/28/2006

I tried this place twice and at 2 different locations... in Pasadena and Burbank. Both experiences were mediocre at its best. Went to the Burbank location early this year with my boyfriend on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday... we were seated right away considering it was ""date night"" for half the population of Los Angeles. The food was, well, nothing to rave about really. I've definitely had better! I got my usual sushi order of yellowtail and eel... my guy ordered something with ""shrimp"" in it... NOT AT ALL MEMORABLE THAT'S FOR SURE. If you're just looking for something to fill your stomach, I suggest you go to Momotaro on Glenoaks... at least you get your money's worth. If you want to be part of the hustle and bustle of the Burbank nightlife, this could be your spot. BUT DEFINITELY NOT MINE. Pros: Free parking at the huge lot next door, accessibility to other entertainment venues Cons: Food more

KABUKI QUICKIE 6/13/2006

I took a date on a Saturday night around 7:30...no reservation. We were seated within 5 mins. The place was crowded but not packed. Our service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. The food was very good and served quickly. I especially liked the BBQed beef. They have some terrific combinations so you can have some sushi with other dishes such as Gyoza or other cooked food. This is not Nobu. It's a great place for fast, fun sushi. I'm looking firward to trying other Kabuki locations. more

Horrible Service 4/7/2006

The service was horrible! You have to order 3 rolls to get the 50% off at dinner and so I did. The waiter proceeded to tell me that he did not believe that I could eat 3 rolls by myself therefore was not going to issue the 50 % discount. I had to argue with him about that. Once he brought our food, he watched me like a hawk to make sure no one else ate my rolls. I mean come on! He never brought my friends miso soup and ignored us most of the night leaving the bus boy to get our drinks. We sat finished for 30 minutes before we got our bill. It was pretty bad. I will never eat there again but walk across the street to Octopus where the service is much friendlier. Cons: slow service, rude wait staff, small portions more

yummy to my tummy 3/27/2006

the place was very crowded on a saturday night and expected. we were seated promptly only because there were only two of us. the service was ok. i got my water when i wanted and my edamame immediately. our sushi arrived pretty quick. the presentation was ok but the way they cut the rolls were sloppy. they were falling apart and the rice was not wrapped in the nori tightly. they still tasted good and thats all that mattered at that point. i figured it was going in my tummy anyway. every new rest. i try i always have the caterpillar roll (avacado and unagi-eel) to make sure the unagi is fresh. it was yummy! we will be back...maybe at a less crowded time though. Pros: inexpensive, parking, fast Cons: crowded, presentation more

Half Off equals Half Quality, Half Size 2/11/2006

This place is a real gimmick and not a real sushi bar. With cramped tables, impersonal waiting staff, and unimaginitive/very average quality sushi it is easy to see the real motives behind this restaurant chain. We ordered several different rolls and they all looked the same. The spicy tuna was not spicy at all, nor did it have very much tuna either (probably a lot of corn starch filler). The spider roll from the outside looked just like everything else and it was supposed to be a premium roll. You really have to wonder about a restaurant that serves half off sushi all day long, why not just call it your regular price? Pros: barbecue beef Cons: half quality sushi, cramped space, impersonal service more

Kabuki Burbank is afordable and tasty 2/11/2006

We had a great experience at Kabuki Burbank. The wait staff was fsat and efficient and the sushi was tasty and well presented and prepared. Plus, the 1/2 off makes it very affordable to eat there. One thing about Kabuki though is that there is a considerable difference in the service and quality at different locations. Avoid Kabuki Hollywood like the plague!!!! Pros: affordable, good sushi, efficient service more

Disappointment 9/17/2005

Let me start off by saying I'm a big Kabuki fan, having eaten there more than 20 times at both of the Pasadena locations. For my first time at the Burbank establishment, I won't be returning. We were estimated a 30 minute wait, and after 30 minutes, when I checked back in, I was rudely informed by the manager that it would be another 45 minutes. How can you mis-estimate that much? Once we were finally seated, our food arrived quickly, but it was cold, and once delivered, we never saw our waiter again until AFTER we requested our bill from someone else. I guess I'll just stick to Pasadena to get my Kabuki fix. Pros: sushi, price Cons: service, wait time more

Yummy 3/25/2005

Went for dinner the other night with a friend....we both ate and drink a ton and it was only $40 - 1/2 sushi got to love it...and it was very fresh tasting. Pros: freshness, price, location more
