First of all, the guys were great. JJ, Matt, Jeff, Ramon did a great job. They packed most everything up with care (broke one wine goblet...but that is it). Loaded the truck and did a great job under the circumstances. The circumstances though were a bit stressful. First of all, the bid was $600 higher then anyone else that bid the move. Patti came to the house and did a walk through and I provided an inventory list for her. After receiving the bid, I told Patti that she was significantly higher then anyone else... (grant it, I did not have anyone else do the walk through but did provide the inventory list). Patti assured me that it was a quyote and she most likely over estimated the bid... and then reminded me of the extra insurance and the great service. I decided to go with Keepmoving because of her reassurance. Well, the crew was a bit late during pack out.. No big deal.. they worked hard... we bought them lunch all was good. Then on moving day.. they were extremely late. Was told they would be here at 730-800... but didn't show until 1030. I called at 900ish and Patti informed me that they had a rain delay... I had to call to find this out. Then when they did arrive...Derek was there for about 15 minutes... Guys spent about 3 hours loading and then told me that the would need to make a second trip... Patti then called me and informed me that I would be responsible for a second trip charge... I was a bit surprised... I disagreed with this because she did the walk through. It wasn't my fault that they did not send a big enough truck and trailer... I then talked to Derek... We never quite saw eye to eye.. but I was stuck.. they had half my stuff. We completed the first run, then came back for second run... loaded truck and they headed out at 800pm (2000), but 300 meters from old house, truck broke down (burned out clutch I think)... so had to get another truck, etc. Needless to say, the final box was unloaded and delevered into our home at almost 200am. Long day for all. Derek (commandable because he came up from Austin to help the guys when the truck broke down) stated that we would settle up tomorrow (but I needed to sign a credit card authorization). Next day Patti called and told me that under the circumstances, they were waiving the 2nd trip charge (I would hope so)... we settled and the final bill was still $400+ higher then any other bid. I share all of this with you so you can see another side of a move. This was not my first move either. I am a military spouse and military brat. I have moved my entier life...so I have a little experience in moving. Again, the guys did a great job.... little to no damage to our items or our new (new construction)home (a ding on a door or two and a few scratches on our new floor)... but other then that...nothing major... but the walk through was way off. I shold have been told that I ""may need another truck or that their trailer was only so big. I think this was a bigger job then they expected and they need to do a better job estimating. They missed by a lot... they filled the trailer completely full on the second trip. Oops. Would I use them again? Not sure.... but doubtful.
Pros: actual moving crew was great
Cons: inaccurate quote/truck broke down
