Best

I really didn't want to write a review of Justa Pasta b/c it's the place where I go to for great pasta and just to relax with my family...don't like it when it's too crowded, but ...

Worst

With its cafeteria-style italian food, and overpriced wine, Justa Pasta needs to rethink, the formula. You tend to expect a little more neighborhood friendliness at a place like t...

You have got to be kidding people..... 7/3/2004

I can't believe people really think this place has the best Italian food and for a great value. The service is horrible, and the prices are way too high for what you get. It blows me away to see it in the Cheap eats part of City search. You get small portions, and basically everything tastes like garlic and olive oil. Please people, really try to extend you palates to find out what real Italian food tastes like, with proper Italian service. I've had better from and Italian street vendor. Cons: , poor value, blah food more

What a great place! 10/24/2003

I went there tonight for the first time and had a fabulous meal of boiled (not fried) calamari, a succulent sausage lasagna (in real Italian style, much tastier than American lasagna) and a piece of apple cake with ice cream. One of the best Italian meals I've ever had and a great value. The only downside was that it was so busy that service was a bit off, but everything else was great Pros: Fresh ingridents, Specials to die for, Cheap Cons: Waits can be long more

we eat here 2-5 times a wk 9/18/2003

Excellent professional service and consistent quality. Reasonable mark-up on wine. Best Italian food in the neighborhood. We work consitently get take-out here 3-5 times a wk if we're too busy to cook. It's good stuff. The salads are particularly good and consistent. The specials are regularly tempting and the menu, which rolls over every month or two, is consistently strong. Pros: great value, great take-out more

Love the food but...... 7/31/2003

This bistro has all the makings to make it big. The food is great, with new choices all the time. The biggest problem facing them is service. I bought a sandwhich to go from Justa Pasta and had to wait 25 minutes. It was lunch time, but many people than came in after me were served and still I waited. When I got my food there was no ""Sorry for the wait"" or even ""We are busy today, Thanks for waiting."" I didn't make a fuss with a lobby full of people , it didn't seem like the time. When I called later (4:00 P.M.) The manager didn't even want to talk to me.or ask why I was calling. Some attention to customer service is in order. If you are going to do take out from this place, call ahead. The food is great, if you can stand the wait. more

Masta Pasta 1/1/2003

This place made pasta simple, but not dull. Definitely one of the best pasta dishes I've had anywhere, and at a reasonable prices. Actually I don't mind the counter and self-serve style, although the place is crowded. Freshness reigns and service is a top-notch. Pros: value, good food Cons: crowd more

Amazing! 11/11/2002

Some of the best - and certainly most reasonably priced - Italian food in town. more

Yummmm! 11/5/2002

Great lunch! Quick service, fresh food, what more could you ask for? One of my favorite lunch stops. Pros: Average pricing Cons: Crowded more

excellent 10/26/2002

This is the best Italian food I have ever had!!! more

Mmm Mmm Good! 10/6/2002

I work in the NW district and I love being able to call this place for a pick up order, and have it be ready for me when I get there! Price is wonderful also! This is an absolutly wonderful place to get a good tasting meal before going out somewhere. I am always recommending this place to my guests! A+ Pros: Inexpensive, Great food! Cons: Parking more

yummy and cheap 8/3/2002

Great pasta, really fresh, cheap good wine, good service (even though you order at the counter), friendly atmosphere. Great place to grab a quick bite and a yummy bottle of wine. more

Just right! 6/27/2002

I love the idea of a place where you can go and have a fantastic meal and not feel overwhelmed with having to get all dauled up or deal with a pretentiouss wait staff. You know what you are getting when you come here. Granted it is little fast foodish in that you have to order your food at the bar and grab a number,, but the service from that point on is really good and friendly and the food is always superb. Their homemade pastas really are some of the best I have had and the best part is that you can grab some to take home... more

Best Kept Secret 6/18/2002

One of Portland's best kept secrets. Lots dont know that this little place supplies the pasta for most of Portland's finest restaurants. So it makes sense that you couldn't go wrong here - pay a fraction of the price, sit outside, and feel good about fresh, clean food. The pesto was delicious and the ceaser was delicious too. We went here before the Jerry Seinfeld show and it was perfect! One of those places where you get terrific food and can actually hear the conversation at your table. more

Great little place 5/13/2002

I finally went here for lunch, and what a pleasant surprise! Had a goat-cheese ravioli with pesto that was super, and my mom had lasagne with lamb sausage. I would have never ordered that, but it was fantastic. They make a really nice, fresh, garlicky Caesar, too. I'll definitely be back, especially for takeout and frozen pastas to cook at home. Drawback for dining in is that you have to order before grabbing a table, and it gets crowded. Pros: great takeout, inexpensive, homemade pasta Cons: counter service, busy at lunch more
