On my regular rotation of favorite restaurants! 4/2/2011

I've been going to Junz about once per week for a few years now. The sushi is great! Very fresh and well prepared. For friends that don't like sushi, there are many excellent cooked choices like the sea bass, salmon, steak, and pasta dishes. You can't beat Junz for a tasty, fresh and healthy dining experience! The service has always been excellent as well. more

Good food - Pathetic business sense/service 9/12/2009

Last night we were celebrating our daughter's 15th birthday. She wanted to go to Junz because she loves sushi. We let her do the ordering and she put down all the different types of sushi we love. What she didn't realize is that you got two pieces of sushi for each order. So the bottom line is our waitress didn't say a thing about three small people ordering over 70 pieces of sushi, two large rolls and other items. Yes a mistake was made on our part in not realizing the order meant two pieces times whatever we put down on the form. But the fact that they said absolutely nothing about ordering $200 worth of sushi was also a mistake. I spoke to the owner about the mix-up and he basically said they wouldn't take it back. It hadn't been touched. In fact we were told this before the second and third plate of sushi was even made. Not after the fact. We felt Junz was more interested in the money versus doing what was right. There was so much sushi at our table it became a joke yet they kept it coming. At this point I told the owner it would be the last time we spent our money there. He offered to take 20% off the bill. He completely missed the point. He could have easily put a halt to the order that hadn't even been made but he chose not to. So don't EVER make a mistake when you order food at Junz because no matter where in the cycle this order is you can't change your mind. We accept our part of this fiasco. Even the waitress finally admitted she should have said something but just thought we were hungry. Hello. But for them to refuse to stop processing the remainder of the order long before it came to our table is nothing short of greed and total ignorance of how to treat a good customer. I will say their food is good but this experience has turned us off to the point of not going back. Cons: They seriously don't care if you come back more

Freshest Fish in Colorado 4/21/2009

Aside from a few drawbacks, this really is one of the best sushi experiences I've had. The fish is amazingly fresh. The only time I had consistently better fish was in Guam, and it's really not fair to compare to that. When I came in the door, the sushi chefs all greeted me enthusiastically. I felt like they had been waiting just for me. The waitstaff were nice and helpful as well. I hate wasabi and can taste it in the rice and fish if it's put in the same take out container as my order -- even if it never touches any of it. I asked for no wasabi anywhere, and they did just that. Most places will still put it on the side. There are a few reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars: 1) The rice falls apart really easily. 2) I was given two deep fried whole shrimp, with eyes and all, along with my order. I ate one and, while it's not an experience I ever want again, I'm glad I did it. However, the second one had a fuzzball on the side of it. It looks like some fuzzy strands of synthetic material got battered and deep fried along with the shrimp. Thankfully, I was on the fence about eating the second one anyway. 3) They don't have any sushi platters or combos, and ordering everything separately gets really expensive really fast. Also, this didn't affect my rating at all, but they forgot to put napkins in with my take out order, which was mildly inconvenient. All that aside, I will go back. Their spider roll was the best I've ever had, and the freshness of their fish is hard to beat. Pros: fresh fish, good selection, friendly service Cons: rice falls apart, no platters or combos more

Very fresh seafood 1/20/2008

We used to go to this place all the time when we lived in Parker. Always the same great people working and very friendly. The seafood is super fresh, by far the best in Denver. Tons of sushi to choose from. One of the best sushi places anywhere. Pros: Sushi Cons: location...Parker more

Best restaurant in Parker 1/13/2008

After living in Parker for 2 years, coming from the downtown Denver area, we've concluded that Junz is the best restaurant in Parker. There are a few others that attempt to be ""higher end"", none coming close to the great food, nice variety, and cosmopolitan environment of Junz. We are comfortable taking kids there (as long as they're well bahaved) and find it's a great date night restaurant as well. The sushi is very good and fresh, and we love the french and asian inspired choices for the non-sushi eating types. All in all, for the suburbs, this is the place to go. Pros: sushi, menu variety, ambiance Cons: maybe a little pricey on the drinks more

Good food, average customer service 9/5/2007

I love the food here, but will agree with other reviewers that the service is poor. I like sushi as an appetizer, and have asked several times for it to come out first. I have never received it before my meal. My salad also came out with my meal last time, which made no sense. It is also overpriced, in my opinion. I still recommend it because it is so difficult to get decent sushi in this area. Pros: Great sushi, good entrees, nice variety Cons: Prices high, bad service more

poor customer service 8/17/2007

Previous visits served us well...good food AND good service... up until today!. My grandaughter LOVES sushi and LOVES Junz...but today our waiter (server #2) treated us as if we were invisible. He served us our food, argued about the type of sugar given us for our tea and never once returned to ask how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. (My grandughter wanted green tea ice cream.) After waiting 30 minutes for our waiter to return with our check, we finally walked to the front desk to pay our bill (we went to ColdStone for our ice cream). Needless to say his tip would have been much larger had he treated us with as much respect as he treated his regulars...wait a minute!...I thought we WERE regulars!? Pros: good food Cons: poor service more

Junz-A very disappointing experience 8/6/2007

I went to Junz this past week for the first time. I was very dissappointed. Waitress was ok. Menu was kind of all over the place. I was with a party of 6, we ordered edamame and sushi as appetizers. The waitress was very clear that, that was our intent. Pros: Local Cons: Service terrible/food overpriced more

Lousy Service - Waiters argue with you, owner doesn't care if you return 6/30/2007

We read a lot of good but old reviews. It is obvious that they no longer try to provide good customer service - diners are just cattle to them. We made reservations, arrived on time and were told ""our table isn't ready because the prior people hadn't left"". Instead we were given one right in the middle of the room next to a large noisy party. After sitting for over 10 minutes without even getting water, I asked the owner if something could get done. He hassled a waiter and eventually water was brought and they took our drink order. They brought me the wrong drink. They took our order, including California rolls for appetizers and while they did tell us that the sushi chefs were backlogged, what happened next is unforgiveable. The sushi was taking so long that our dinners were coming out first. There was some discussion by the waiter with us as to what to do next -In the end, somehow they held the sushi until after we had finished our dinners. Note that after bringing our dinners, no one stopped by to see how the meal was going - at which time any mix-up could have been corrected. While there may have been some confusion amidst the noise and lanuage difficulties, the crowning disgrace was the waiter first tried to argue with us and blame us, we then complained to the owner, who sort of tried to take the waiters side in the confusion over the order. We then made it known to him that we finished with dinner, didn't want to be argued with, and just wanted the check. The waiter then came back and again tried to argue with us over the situation. They just don't get the concept of Customer Service. Most places will try to ""make things right"" regardless of how things became mixed up. Most places, once a diner indicates service isn't going well, will go out of their way to provide good service. Instead, the owner just chatted with a few favorites and let us suffer a really terrible experience at his establishment. I guess he just doesn't care. more

Good Japanese food, without having to drive to Denver 11/12/2006

After hearing several ppl rave about this restaurant, we decided to check out ""Parker's best restaurant."" We started with the tuna tartar, which was very good, so I was excited about the rest of our meal. We ordered several rolls that were prepared very well and presented quite nicely. The tonkatsu my husband had was also very good. Now, I've only been to 3 restaurants in Parker, and although the food was very good at Junz, I'm surprised it's the best in Parker. The staff was friendly, but the service wasn't any better than any other restaurant we've been to. It was nice to have Jun himself greet us as we entered, and thank us as we left. But other than that, I didn't really see anything spectacular about this place. Maybe all the hype just made my expectations too high. But all in all, Junz is a great place for great Japanese food, and we'll definitely go back. Pros: Great, fresh sushi, friendly service more

What a Gem 9/11/2006

What a great find! We meet Jun at his new shabu shabu place - it's excellent, but focused on only one style of cooking. He told us about his other establishment, Junz. It's the best Asian food we've had in Denver during the past 10 years! Pros: Service, Food, Ambience more

Unquestionably the best restaurant in Parker, 12/31/2005

Absolutely the best restaurant in Parker, great food, comfortable and inviting decor, and the friendliest and most attentive service you could ever want. Do not miss Junz, in the vast wasteland of chain restaurants down here Junz is an incredible breath of fresh air, absolutely wonderful. more

Great Sushi and Value 8/15/2005

This is one of our favorite places to go. The sushi is great and priced very well. Get the ""O Toro"" (Fatty Tuna), it's one of the best and at a fantastic price. Also ask for the ""Fresh"" Wasabi (it's not paste), I dont know any other place around here that has it. The staff are great, they are helpful and on the money regarding recommendations. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Sushi, Great Staff more

Great Staff, Great Food 5/20/2005

Junz is a once a week visit for my family, we all love it, and everything we try is absolutely delicious!!! We have also been there many times as a larger group, like 10-15 people, for birthday's, and the service is still just as good. They stay right on top of everything. When we go just a few of us though, we like to sit at the sushi bar. Jun, the owner is super nice, but there are also Dan, a host, Gumbo, a sushi cook, Jun's father, all of the staff there are super friendly. And you can take your entire family, sushi is not the only thing on the menu. Try their teryaki chicken, it is delicious!! For as good as the food tastes, the price is completly fair and reasonable. You don't know what you're missing if you haven't been to Junz before. Pros: Food, Staff, Price Cons: None, None, None more

SUPER SUSHI 4/11/2005

Everything about Junz is fantastic. The people are wonderful and the food even better! I will not eat sushi anywhere else!! :) more

Parker's BEST 11/12/2004

Junz' Rocks!! 5/22/2004

I've been to Japan several times, and I think Junz' sushi is among the best I've ever tasted. If you don't mind driving to Parker, I'd tell you that you must try their Rock n' Roll. I know what you're saying, that's not sushi...that's an ""americanized roll."" Well, whatever it is, it rocks. Junz offers a fusion of japanese, american tastes with a french technique added. This is our favorite restaurant, and the Rainbow Roll is a must try as well. Pros: Cool Bar, Great Service, Different than Most more
