Very subpar work. He left the floor with all the glue smudge and informed me to clean it up and the floor should result in a finished product. The technician left the remaining materials such as glue and wood on the back porch open to air. There are numerous scratches on the floor and several small splinter cracks in the installed flooring. He is very sarcastic and does not appreciate a curious, inquisitive customer who is interested in understanding the expectations and installation process. There was dust in the room where the wood was installed and he tracked dust through my entire living room and kitchen; he omitted wearing booties or cleaning up after himself. A very disappointing end result. I was trying to support a small business owned by a minority, but this is the reason his business is not prosperous. He has no pride in his work. His only motive is to collect money. I will never use his services again. This was a last minute resort as my prior Technician was unavailable. more

I had vistised 5 stores hughes was the third they were the most helpful carpet store i went to I bought carpet, hardwood and ceramic the installation was done by there guys most of the installers are family and the whole company treat you like family is was the most wonderful experenice I have ever had dealing with remodeling my house in which I have done 3 times now. I would never use anybody but Hughes for all my flooring needs.I recommend them to everybody. Thanks for all ya'lls hard work. more

Having Hughes Flooring do the tile work on our new house was the biggest mistake we made.\r \r Their installers are not reliable, their tile installer hit and ran my car. Thankfully another contractor witnessed it and called me to inform me. It turns out he was driving a company van with no liscense. Even after Hughes Flooring discovered this they still let him drive their company van back to our house to do work. Diffent colors of tile were used in the application of our shower becouse he ran out of material.\r \r Then to top it off after livingin our house for less than 8 months, I discovered our shower floor was leaking. I contacted Hughes Flooring by phone and email several times with no return phone calls. \r \r We have since had other tile installers come look at our shower and was informed it was not done correctly. more

I'm a newcomer to buying carpet and these guys were trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge and way overcharge me. On a lark, I stopped in Carefree Carpets, and boy, am I glad I did. Now I understand alot more about carpet and pricing. Needless to say, that's where I bought more

Gorgeous New Hardwood Floor 9/30/2010

Purchased a new hardwood floor from Hughes. When we went in to check prices and selection, our sales rep suggested a wood that we had not even considered. The wood was on sale and priced right. Our sales rep highly recommended that we choose the wood that was on sale because of the look we wanted for our floor. We took his suggestion and we now have a GORGEOUS floor in our home. We would have been happy with what we orginally thought we wanted, but I am thrilled with what we actually purchased. Our sales rep certainly knew what he was talking about!!! The sales reps at Hughes are very knowledgable and we had no issues with the installation. The installers arrived on time, worked with us to ensure we got the look we wanted and kept the mess to a minimum. We will definately go back to Hughes for all our flooring needs. more

good work....need to work on communication. 3/10/2010

I was overall happy with the service and product we received from Hughes. We got the product we asked for in a timely manner and installation was quick (2 days for our particular job). My main critique was for the sales staff. The guy we worked with was very attentive and knowledgeble in the store. When it came to our home visit to measure the space and bring a product sample he was over an hour late (with no phone call and I was on lunch break! My husband wanted to talk to him too but had to go back to work b/c he couldn't wait any longer) and I had to track him down. No apology which I thought was tacky just a comment on how far away from the store we live. When the installer crew came they too showed up late the first day on the job but arrived on time the second day and worked hard the entire time they were in my home. more

These guys don't keep their word 1/19/2009

To get these folks to finish their work is a task unto itself. After 3 months of followup and the slow installation crew, the floor is still not finished. It is ridiculous in today's economic market to deliver such shabby work and expect to survive. more

Hughes Flooring is a family owned business. The staff is very experienced and knowledgeable on their products. Selection of flooring is extensive. Prices are reasonable and well within their competition. more
