HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! \r \r For 25 years I've been using Johnson's Garage and I won't go anywhere else. Got a blind recommendation from a guy at Meineke Mufflers in 1989. Best recommendation I ever got. Johnson's always does great work, they always give a quote, as well as options to keep the price of repairs affordable. From minor repairs to full engine replacements, Kent and his team have done wonderful work for my family's many cars. I highly recommend them. more

BEWARE!! BEWARE!!! I thought I could trust this guy because I had used him before. I had engine trouble so I towed my car to Johnson for repair. That day he called me and said that the ignition coil was bad and it would be $170.00 to repair. I gave him the OK. He charged me $95.00 labor and $71.50 for the coil + tax $171.33. Turns out the coil only cost him $16.00. Is this gouging? When I picked the car up and paid I had only gone a couple blocks when the car lost almost all power. So I returned and they said that I had a bad catalytic convertor.New problem? The owner said that the convert would be $175.00 so I left the car another day.The next day I got the call that the car was done so I asked what the total was. I was told $359.90. What choice did I have but to go pay the bill. As I pulled out of Johnsons lot I only made it a few blocks and the CHECK ENGINE light came on. Did they even test drive the car? I think NOT. Later I called his auto parts store and found out that he paid $181.00 and had charged me $247.00 + $61.00 labor ( could have had this done for $195.00 at a muffler shop). On top of all this he changed my oil $38.00 and said that I had called him and tell him to do so. I had just changed my own oil 1000 miles ago. When I confronted him with all this price gouging he told me to ""Go somewhere else"" I feel that I was over charged about $200.00 on a $531.00 bill. more

First Class Professional 2/15/2011

I have found that Johnson Garage is absolutely professional and if they tell you your vehicle needs some part or service, you can be sure that to the best of their ability they have told the truth. I found it interesting that they had a negative comment because someone could not bring in their own parts. Try doing that at any NORMAL, PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS!! It just want work, and it shouldn't. How in the world do you think businesses make money to pay employees, insurance, operation, and etc. more

We have taken our cars to Johnson's Garage for many years now. We had a couple very bad experiences elsewhere at first and Johnson's found the problems and fixed them for us when other guys could not. For that reason alone, we returned. Just from our experiences, you get what you pay for. Mr. Johnson has been around a while (40 yrs. or more) and knows what he is doing and we have found him to be one of the better mechanics around. He has refused (a couple times) to use the parts we have purchased before but we have found that to be the case with most master mechanics. Johnson's has always completed the jobs with our cars to perfection and in a timely manner. He gets straight to the point about our cars, what needs to be done and in the rare case that he has been unable to fit us in or do the work as quick as we need, he tells us up front. His shop is in a good location, well kept and clean, and the parking is easy. His prices are reasonable and his work on all our cars through the yea more

Over-priced and unprofessional 6/30/2010

My 95 S-10 had a leaking gas tank, leaking rear pinion seal, and leaking transfer case gaskets. I normally would do the work myself and had, in fact, purchased the parts already, but things suddenly got too busy. So I took it to Johnson's Garage. Just in parts, Mr. Johnson wanted to charge me $196.85 for a new fuel tank and $30.40 for a pinion seal. I explained to him that I got the parts from Advanced Auto already for $126 for fuel tank and $11 for pinion seal, and asked him to use those parts, he got frustrated and told me that he doesn't put on others parts. This is a normal policy for shops, but the way in which he said it was very unprofessional. When I started to ask him another question, he cut me off and said he would take it off the lift and it would be waiting for me, and then hung up. One good thing is that he didn't charge me for the estimate. However, their parts are way over-priced, almost unethically so, and their attitude is completely unprofessional. more

Shady to say the least... 8/24/2009

I recently had my car repaired at Johnson's Garage and was immediately put off by the rudeness and down-right unprofessionalism of who I assume to be the owner/manager. Not only did I hear & see him talking down to one his employees loudly, he also acted with arrogance while I was trying to explain the issue I was having with my car (rolling his eyes, cutting me off, talking down). After my bad first impression, I should have went with my instinct and left. Unfortunately I decided to leave my car there. After 6 hours I received a call to let me know that my car was finished, although I never received a phone call to let me know what the problem was, the cost of repair, etc. Although they said this was something that they usually do, I am skeptical as to whether this is true or not. I would advise anyone to do their homework and ask friends/family for suggestions for a good, local shop. I wish I would have taken my own advice! Pros: None Cons: Rude & Unprofessional Owner, No update calls more

An okay auto repair shop 7/13/2005

I rate Johnson's Garage with 3 stars as a satisfactory auto repair shop. The shop was very clean and pleasant when I entered and the person I spoke with with fairly helpful and courteous. My main concern was when I went to pick my car up, the price I was given was different from what I was originally told, it wasn't a whole lot more but was more expensive. When I pointed this out, they said they had to do mroe work than expected. They did show me what they had done and explained it all but I was concerned (and told them so) that no one bothered to call and get my okay before they did the extra work. They said they normally do but someone had forgotten in my case. I would probably go back there but would definitely make sure they knew to call me before any extra work was done on my car. more
