If there's one thing I cannot stand are those who bully people into making payments. But, when you send a payment, regardless of the amount, they send it back with a letter stating ""THIS MATTER HAS NOT BEEN CLOSED IN OUR OFFICE."" Now, I know it's not closed, but this office is trying to play me as if I were stupid. I am not stupid. I think this person just wants to show his/hsr client ""PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES"" that they can get their money. ALL I WANT TO DO is make payments, and ALL I can afford at this time is $5.00 a month. That's better than getting NOTHING AT ALL. But, they keewp sending it back. I sent it three (3) times, and three (3) times it came back with a letter. First letter was demanding I pay $50.00 for the initial month/payment with monthly payments of $50.00 til paid in full. At this time, I sent a letter of expanation with the payment and it came back with the letter that said ""matter not closed."" The third one hasn't come back yet. But I'm sure it will. Three strikes, you eat the loss should apply here. more

We received a service for our 91 year old family member from this office in regards to a Chase Bank account. The person, and I say person because I dont know if he is really an attorney, stated to us that in order to validate the service we had to submit in writing a request for proof. When we asked how we were supposed to get the request in writing to them via mail or hand delivery and have an answer filed by the deadline he stated ""if our client is never going to get the money because of the health issues of your family member then why does it matter so much if a judgment is filed?"". I was devistated that someone could be so hurtful and rude. We wanted to get this taken care of and make sure the debt was valid and then to get a response like this?! \r We will be filing an answer and also reporting this to the Utah State Bar and to any news media that we can to bring this to the attention of the public and also their client Chase Bank for going after a fridged old man who does not know yesterday from tomorrow. more

Just received a call from a female who work for this firm and said my ex-wife said to call to get my credit card to pay a 7 month doctor bill on my 17 year old daughter who lives with the ex. I asked for a copy of the original bill and asked who the doctor was. I was told they did not have that information and if I didn't pay my name is being ""added"" to the collection account and demanded my home address for mailing. I said I would pay (after verification of the bill being validated and submitted to insurance), but there's no way they could fax or email this information to me. The threats continued which also were that my credit would be reported negatively and I better pay now or else. What a crock! The bill was never received by me nor and included their fee. I offered to pay 1/2 the original amount but was advised I was the parent and needed to pay the entire bill. I know my rights and I've dealt with my ex running up this bill in the manner for years.
