I've been a patient of Dr. Johnson's for more than 10 years and he's guided me through secondary infertility and early menopause issues, two miscarriages, a cervical cancer scare, and treatment for an ovarian cyst. He is great with the routine exams, soft-spoken and very sensitive to a woman's embarassment and discomfort, but more, he cares about the patient as a person. He is well connected within the medical community and willing to pass you on for second opinions or to well-respected specialists in great hospitals. During my various illnesses, he was caring, took an inordinate amount of time to answer ALL my questions and my husband's, putting the answers in simple English, and then laying out ALL the options and their risks/benefits. My husband thinks the world of him as well. And when you are scared or upset, he is there for you. He came to see me just before performing a medical procedure on me and was there very shortly after I woke up. Again, he made sure he spoke with both my husband and myself to reassure us. I trust him with my health, my family life, and when my daughter's future when she's old enough to start her well-women checkups. Pros: He is very sensitive to your discomfort and embarassment. I saw Dr Johnson through my last pregnancy. During this time my husband became ill and passed away. Dr Johnson and his staff were wonderful and supportive. My birth experience was great considering my situation. He is a very nice guy and experienced. He's also delivered many of the babies in my family would get great reviews from everyone. Pros: Everything, great dr great staff, awesome nurse. Cons: Doesn't elaborate much on details but happy to answer questions if I asked. more

I have been a patient for 16 years and a very healthy individual. He delivered all three of my kids without issue, however, when he needed to perform a hysterectomy, his post-op follow up and his answers to questions and solutions to problems were curt at best. I have complained about headaches since the day of the surgery, and he put me on HRT. At four weeks after the surgery, he told me the headaches have nothing to do with the surgery and too many people jump that HRT is the issue - and to find a neurologist. Yet when I excited the exam room, he had changed the HRT brand and it appears the strenght with only an explaination that ""these are essentially the same - just throw out the other ones"". I visited another doctor the next day who was unsure why he apparently changed two variables and that headaches and HRT are a warning sign to be addressed. I really get the sense that he only wants to deal with the obstectrics end of his practice. Cons: Follow up care to Surgery was poor more

Unlike many doctors, this physician actually cares about his patients and it shows. He's very compassionate and doesn't spend a lot of time preaching to you about what you shouldn't do. Dr. Johnson is soft spoken, with a great sense of humor. I have never felt uncomfortable during an exam -- that's exceptional since a visit with the gynecologist is usually an uncomfortable experience. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson for OB-Gyn. more
