Johnson Body Shop

My car was hit and the driver of the other vehicle had Nationwide insurance so their insurance was covering the cost. I received a check from Nationwide to have the car repaired. I believe the amount of the check was way more than what it should cost for the repairs.\r \r Johnson’s Body Shop gave me an estimate way below the value of the check but then they asked how much did Nationwide give me? and so after the repairs they asked for the entire check to the penny and I immediately thought they were just going to take the full amount I was given regardless of what the actual total to repair the car was.\r \r I went to pick up the car and noticed instead of replacing parts they polished them to from my reasoning get the most value out of the check I had received. I demanded them to replace the parts and they told me no problem because Nationwide will pay.\r \r The entire thing just did not sit well with me the check from Nationwide was almost $2,000 for like a $1,200 repair and the body shop asked me to sign over the entire check. I asked them that if you ask for the entire check then obviously the repair cost had to go over the amount right? I just received a smirk and a yeah it was more.\r \r I feel as if the repairs cost no where near the amount they asked and oh I forgot to mention all parts replaced were alternative parts! Or another word CHEAP. I really just wanted to get my car back and be done with the whole thing. I understand that a business needs to make a profit but I feel as if they not only made a lot of money from the Nationwide check, but they made even more when they billed Nationwide for the parts I demanded fixed.\r \r Any business obviously will do what it can to save money, but should they be cutting corners when repairing your car? more

JT kept me in the loop. He handled everything with the insurance company. I did not have to do anything. Car was ready on time and looked great. I am glad the Lexus dealership gave me their name. more

Great shop. I have been there 5-6 times over last 4 years. Hope I don't need them again. If I do I will return as a satisfied customer. more

Johnson Body Shop Durham has seen two vehicles of mine. After my first experience with them, where they were so easy to work with and did such a good job and were conveniently located, they were great. They let me drop if off at one location and pick it up at a satellite location which was convenient for me. They are so easy to work with and the quality of work is very good. more

Johnson Body shop has repaired # of my vehicles and has done a fabulous job!!!! It was handled quickly and professionally and the quality of the work performed was fantastic! I will only take my vehicles to Johnson Body for all future work!!! You guys are the best!! more

After hitting a deer, and being scared to death, the nice folks at Johnson Body Shop took all the hassle out of getting my Lexus repaired in a reasonable time. They handled all the insurance and rental car issues. after the repairs, my car looked just as good as it did before the deer hit it. They even cleaned my car. I was amazed with the professionalism in this shop. I was contacted on a regular basis regarding the repairs to my vehicle. Everyone was very nice and personable and talked with me as if they knew exactly what I was experiencing! The repair work was exceptional. The paint match, parts replacement, everything was just unbelievable! Johnson Body Shop has failed to satisfactorily repair damage to my car from a rear-end collision. After the first attempt, I had my car inspected by another body shop. They found several points of inferior workmanship. I returned the car to Johnson's for a second try at repairing the damage. The car still has a bent interior frame that has not been properly repaired. No sense going back to a shop the has had two tries at repairing the damage. I reccommend that everyone with major body repair work completed at Johnson Body Shop go for a post- repair inspection some place else. Johnson does a pretty good cosmetic job, but what's underneth? more
