If you like drinking a smooth, rich pint of Guinness this is the place to go in Miami. Right in the heart of Coral Gables you can enjoy this classic pub atmosphere with some friends. All their tap beers are served in their proper glasses and the food fare can hold its own against the many great restaurants in the Gables. If you're going for the live music I would think twice. more

I will reserve deep comments as I was there on a Tuesday night. The place had a decent crowd, staff was quick and attentive. The draft beer had a somewhat tin taste for all 3 that I ordered. My friend also noted this.\r The food was average Pub fare, at least what I had.\r I didn't walk away thrilled but after all it was a Tuesday. I'll have to try on another more festive night. more

John Martin's ruined my St Patrick's Day 3/22/2011

The pub organized a street fair, selling tickets that you could exchange for drinks and food at some stands (8 tickets= 1 beer). The ticket booth was still selling tickets when beers ran out. We all went back to the ticket booth, but the two employees got escorted by the police with the safe full of our cash. We then proceeded to go to the actual pub, thinking that there they will give us the beers we had already paid for. but they asked us to pay $10 cover charge to get in. Many people stand there, upset and complaining, but the manager of the pub did not even bother to come talk to us. After twenty minutes of wait outside, we were finally told that we could exchange 10 tickets for an entrance to the pub! This place is a complete SCAM and I will never go back there. I hope all the customers who got stolen from this establishment yesterday will do the same. JOHN MARTIN'S SHOULD BE ASHAMED.\r \r more

ok besides the obvious Irish atmosphere being super laid back and welcoming to beer drinkers from all over...This place boasts great selection on beer AND a great menu to match up. No lie, everything I ordered was so good... this place is great!!! the only problem is PARKING... what a pain in the ass, still worth it in the end.... a must go!!!! more

The owner/manager walks around with a sour puss like he hates being there - never smiles or greets patrons. The band is jammed into a corner with barely enough room to move and the acoustics are abominable. Good food and excellent staff. The crowd really seemed to enjoy the band inspite of the owner's constant griping about their volume. more

AMAZING!! 5/14/2009

Excellent restaurant... not cheap but affordable.. great for a night out with your friends, the live music and the buzzing noise of laughter welcomes you. not a fan of loud noise, don't worry, there's an area that allows you to talk to the person across the table without yelling while still enjoying the music! the service is also very good all the waiters are very friendly and helpful.. more

Best Atmosphere! Wholesome food and people 3/11/2008

Well, I love this place! I always go with my friends when I am back in Miami. It has a sort of European feel to it and the atmosphere is cool and relaxed. Last time I was there I had their burger and a side salad that had the best dressing... I am not sure what it was but I think it was the house. we also tried their self brewed wheat beer which was good and really affordable. I like supporting family run place like Johnmartin's and you know the food your getting is homemade. Pros: atmosphere, home made food, Really great wheat beer more

Great Place, Nice People 6/19/2007

I went to John Martins on my birthday, and when no other restaurant in the area would take reservations, they did. They gladly accommodated my party of 22 and brought our food promptly considering the size of the group. \r \r I've had the fish and chips, the New Zealand mussels, and the stuffed tortellini... All have been fantastic. And the chocolate cake they brought me for my birthday was delicious. Thankfully the waiters did no cheesy singing, they left that to my friends. more

Good food & drinks, nice ambience 10/30/2006

We really like this place. My husband loves the spinach salad and we often go with the girls for lunch so he can have it, even if he had it the night before. Friday nights are a lot of fun, with great live music and a rambunctious happy hour crowd. Very casual and relaxed setting. Good food and drinks. Great weekend place and great for kids during the day. Pros: Full bar! Casual & relaxed ambience! Great on Fridays! Cons: Parking more

Good burger 10/18/2006

This place was pretty good. I was very skeptical about an ""Irish Pub"" in Miami of all places, but my burger was good. I think my friend got the Shepard's Pie, and he seemed to like it. Prices were reasonable and service was good. Pros: Food and service were good Cons: I thought the decor was a little weird, but it wouldn't stop me from going back. more

You MUST try this place! 8/28/2002

I have been going to John Martin's for years; it is a fun, festive environment and the best pour in town. The food is always fabulous, whether it's traditional Irish fare you are looking for or great steaks, burgers, and other American cuisine as well. Martin himself is always there, greeting everyone with a smile. St. Patty's day can't be beat; there is no better place to celebrate, hands down. more
