We had a nice salesman, but the manager who came out to give us our trade info. was very rude! He acted like a got mad when i told him when weren't interested in what our payments were going to be. We were interested in the total price for the car. He was a complete jerk!! We got up and went down the road to buy a car. The next dealership offered us 3000 more for our trade. more

HORRIBLE SALESMAN AND TRADE-VALUE 3/3/2011

One star is a generous rating for the way were treated. I found a used car online that I knew I wanted no matter what. I was prepared to put money down and also had a trade-in. Unfortunately I had the worst salesperson ever. PAT "HOLLYWOOD" POSEY. My trade-in value was priced thousands of dollars lower than kbb and nada. It was a joke. When we expressed displeasure with the quote he very rudely told us to have a good night and left . When we were leaving I had to retrieve the keys to the trade-in I had and overheard Pat and the Guy who quotes the trade-in value laughing and talking about us until they noticed me standing behind them. This is the worst representation for a dealership and he is a HORRIBLE RUDE person that I will have absolutely have nothing to do with. I feel sorry for anyone that ends up with him as their salesperson. more

Dishonest Manipulative and Forcefull 10/9/2010

I took my 2006 toyota 4Runner to John Harvy Toyota to see about trading it in for a car. KBB and NADA both said my 4Runner was worth 20-21k on trade. When the sleazy salesman nicknamed "HollyWood" told me it was only worth 16 on trade I asked him why when NADA and KBB had told me 20-21k. He showed me the the KBB sheet they had used to price it. They priced it as being a v6 2wd with no options when mine is a v8 4x4 fully loaded. He told me the extra options such as leather seats towing package and 4x4 didnt matter on trade and it was only worth maybe 17."HollyWood" was very pushy about trying to get me to fill out a credit ap and became rude and even forcefull when I refused, just before we walked out he told me if i didnt buy the corolla that was on there lot I might not be able to find another one LOL because apperantly thiers a shortage of corollas?!! The sales man was a Lier manipulative and very forceful. Even if John harvy toyota had a good deal on their lot I would not buy a car thier more

Rude Car Salesman 10/9/2010

It always amazes me how one person with a bone to pick with a dealer will get on a site like this and enter the same complaint over and over. Why Judy's Book allows this nonsense is beyond me. Harvey Toyota is a family-owned and operated dealership that offers a quality product and great customer service. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Five stars plus! more

Horrible Service Department 1/4/2010

I bought a brand new Lexus from them and at the time their service department was the only place I could go to get an oil change due to the parts weren't available yet at any other lube station. I was charged $310 for an oil change. When I complained about it I was told that they did a bunch of inspections to the car. After only putting 4000 miles on the car I didn't understand why it would need all the inspections, but I didn't ask for them anyway. I was told I had to state at the beginning for them to just do an oil change. I specifically just came in for an oil change. The following time I went to get an oil change I stated I just want an oil change and my bill was $250. I was still mad and they replied your tires had to be rotated. The car has the low profile tires which really means you will be purchasing a lot more tires because they can't hold up to much of anything you drive on. My first flat tire was because of a small pot hole and when I got to the dealership after waiting 5 hours for them to replace the tires, they charged me $350 per tire. I was irrate and I asked if there was any other tire I could get and I was told no. Come to find out 3 tires later I was told by someone at PepBoys that they were lying and there were several other tires I could get starting at $79 and that Lexus knew this and that with the low profile tires because of size issues they do not rotate low profile tires but I was being charged for it. I had my father take my car to get the next oil change because I couldn't deal with the service department anymore and surprise surprise the bill that time was $65, which is still way too high for an oil change, but because he is a man they didn't feel they could screw him over as much. I loved my Lexus, but because of their service department I sold the car and refuse to ever go back. more

Excellent Service and Communication 5/27/2009

I've been to John Harvey Toyota at least 2 dozen times over the course of the last few years and every time I've walked away grateful for my relationship with them. They are good people and my experience has been that they will do whatever it takes to serve their customers. more

Liars & Horrible Service Department 10/24/2008

We bought a brand new 2009 Scion xD there are scratches all over the car after one month. We have gone in 3 times and they are unwilling to fix the problem. There is a defect in the paint, they tried to buff it, and when we got it back...it was worse than when we left it with them. They said they were done with us and told us to leave. Come on, it is brand new and they are unwilling to fix the problem. The paint stratches with a slight rub on the finger pads. They are rude, unscrupulous and liars! more

Horrible Service Department EVER 10/22/2008

Please what ever you do, go somewhere else to buy a car. To buy a car from this company would be money down the toilet. They have the most unscrupulous service department I have ever encountered. We bought a brand new car and brought it back because of defective paint. They have given us nothing but grief and took it and buffed it. NOW it has more scratches than it did when we left it with them. I just feel like crying because my beautiful new car has been ruined. It will never be right! more

We felt duped 12/23/2006

After shopping for a new vehicle online, we found a new Toyota Highlander we liked at John Harvey Toyota in Shreveport, about two hours from our home. We spoke to the saleman on the phone; he quoted us a price, and we agreed to come in for a test drive. When we arrived at the dealership after the long trip, we took the vehicle for a drive. The first thing I noticed about the car was that it had 5,000 miles on it. When I asked the salesman about it, he said it had been driven by the owner's secretary. I responded, "Oh, we thought the car was new." He said, "It is new. It's never been titled to anyone." We felt duped that we had driven two hours to see the vehicle under the pretense that it was new, and to us 5,000 miles does not qualify as "new." To make matters worse, the dealership priced our trade ridiculously less than what it was worth according to Kelley Blue Book and Black Book Online. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. The one good thing I can say about the dealership is the fountain drink bar was nice. more

Excellent service 7/17/2005

We just recently went car shopping for a new vehicle and our final pick was John Harvey Toyota. We had an excellent salesman. He was very thorough and did whatever he had to do to make sure we were completely satisfied. They have great deals at this dealer and excellent customer service. Another major plus is that they offer free beverages to everyone. They have icees, sodas, and water all free of charge and unlimited. This is great when you are car shopping especially on scorching hot days. They also have a nice sitting area with couches and cable tv. Definetly my choice for the best all around car dealership! more
