John Ascuaga's Nugget Csn Rsrt is a MISTAKE! 9/3/2009

Our reservations were misentered by one of their associates causing a 2 hour delay in our getting to our rooms. The manager offered no compensation for the wait until they lost our $100 remote key to our vehicle which we had to track down through their valet service which we paid a mandatory $15 per each room for who still expected tipping. Maitenence was called repeatedly for our air conditioning unit that was NEVER fixed. Did I mention the compesation was only $40 in dinner coupons for four people when only the noodle house and the cafe offered meals under ten dollars a person. Not to mention the coupons, if not used at once could leave a remaining balance for later use; in reality for a light meal for 3 at the cafe we truthfully recieved 31 dollars and change. AWFUL! The list of terrorsgoes on but undescribable. As fair warning I must include that the pool is the only mildly redeming quality that is always overcrowded. BEWARE!!!! Great Place To Stay 12/1/2008

There are great pools in each of the towers, that are never crowded, and provide a great island atmosphere. When I stay at the Nugget I spend most of my time in the pool area before crashing in a standard, casino hotel room. Great for a quick getaway with your signifigant other! This hotel is cheap and good. This is the favorite place of some of my family members because their money wont evaporate just like that. They got clean rooms and good good food - ribs! I would recommend this place! more

Nugget 10/11/2006

Nugget Ascuagas is a large hotel with a separate garden building and the rates are usually cheaper to stay at this wing. The hotel is huge with several restaurants and bars. They have huge bingo parlor and they also have huge gift shop for your shopping pleasure. more

BINGO!! 9/29/2006

I love this hotel & casino. I am not a gambler so I like for my money to last me a long time. This is the only larger casino that has a bingo parlor. For my 40.00 dollars I can sit here for a good 3 hours before I have to get up. AND if I bingo.. then I can sit here for another 3 hours. Fun way to gamble without loosing your butt off. The rooms are geourgeous at this place and they have an indoor/outdoor pool so my kids can swim any time of the year. more

Rosies cafe has great food for good prices 9/6/2005

i have not stayed at the hotel. but i have heard recommendations for it from several people in the area. but i have eaten at rosies cafe more than once and their selections are varied, the food is tasty and has large portions. i have seen at least one show at the nugget and it was excellent. PROS: good size portions and good prices at rosies cafe CONS: more

They've got everything here 7/26/2005

There is a huge parking garage so no worries about parking space. Friendly service all around with every staff member I have run into. They have a few different restraunts to choose from and most of them are reasonably priced with good quality meals. They also have a huge arcade room for the younger ones. The rooms are great and I have always had a wonderful experience with this hotel. more

They have a very nice showroom 7/24/2005

I enjoy going to this showroom to see entertainers primarily because it is a smaller more intimate showroom. Every seat in this room is actually a good seat. They have pretty good entertainers that come for mainly a couple night performance. The casino has a nice variety of restaurants too so they do have packages for dining and show tickets more

The hotel was very nice - excellent rooms which were quiet, and an exceptional indoor pool with workout facilities. The service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. The restuarants were extremely slow, and the servers were unfriendly and rude. When making reservations, I was told to call back later since they were too busy to handle my call. I would say that Mr. Ascuaga needs to have a chat with his employees about providing good service to customers. Pros: Quiet Cons: Poor service, Smoky more

They really try... 5/15/2002

The Nugget is away from downtown, so they have to try harder than the competition. the hotel is constantly being refurbished, expanded and updated. For a ""do it once"" experience, ask for a sleeping room -- a teeny-tiny room with about one foot of clearance around the bed, a small bathroom and that's it. But, hey, it's cheap. Or go full-price and do the tower. Pros: Good rates Cons: Not much else close more
