Loved it! Clams were great and they give you so much. Our waitress was so very nice and helpful. We had a great lunch and day at the beach. We can't wait to go back!! more

The best seafood in town 8/27/2012

I recently went to Jimmies.. I haven't gone in years and it was just like I remembered. The service was great my server was very attentive & helpful. The food was tasty and fresh. I will be doing my best to go more often. This restaurant brings me back to my childhood. more

Terrible with a capital T 3/29/2012

Went ther to get food to take home with us. The food was discusting to say the least. We ordered appetizers that were old, not made fresh at all, and I think the used cheese whip on there potatoe skins that had almost no potatoe in them. Everything was frozen and old. Never order food from there again. The only thing Jimmy's is good for is having a cocktail on the patio in the summer. That's if yo want to pay a lot of money for a drink. If I could rate it with minus stars I would. DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!!! Also I just called them just to let them know how bad it was, and the manager was borderline defensive saying some of these reviews are lies. I didn't feel like she cared at all. I've been going to jimmy's for years and now finally I think I will never go again. we ordered whole clams- a few of them appeared on top of a mound of strips that were hard as rocks. tasteless, over breaded, and stale. more

Ran Aground 5/16/2011

Well this is "The Famous Jimmies Of Savin Rock"...... Maybe when Sal G. was around.... The place has changed alot since then. The food isnt good at all, ask to take a tour of the kitchen you will never eat there again. The wait staff is treated horrible, the restaurant is disgusting... My suggestion EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE... Mcdonalds probally would have been better that night. Could have got a McFish more flavor and less money... more

Cheap and Rude 2/16/2011

10 years ago, Jimmies used to be the best seafood place around. I tried Captians Galley, but Jimmies was better.Everytime I've been since, they've gotten cheaper and cheaper. the bathrooms smell like a dilapidated farm! The fried shrimp are no bigger than the baby shrimp they give you in Chinese take out! The tartar sauce "used" to be the best in the East Coast and now its diluted 2x and reused. Yeah re-used. Ever notice how they clear the table and throw away everything except the tartar. they re-use and re-serve it. Gross! Enough is enough. Jimmies is a thing of the past. Just close the place and give another business group a chance. Food sucks and they are rude as hell and it's not even worth it. They remolded but made no effort to cover up the nasty stench and flies. more

Racist and Rude 9/20/2010

I live in CT and my sister and I had company visiting from AR. Our company wanted to eat seafood so I asked a coworker for a recommendation. \r \r First the waiter could not be bothered to do his job because they charge 15% gratuity for parties of 4 or more. Since he did not have to earn his tip he decided that our table was not worth his time and he went to help his other tables who he had to earn a tip from. He would disappear for long periods of time leaving us waiting. The food was good. Since the waiter was horrible we had decided to talk to the manager but we wanted to finish our food first. After we had paid for our meals after almost an hour of waiting for the waiter to come with our check, we asked a bus boy to get the manager. \r \r The manager was rude saying that we should not have waited so long to tell her and that we should have flagged her down early. She looked like everyone else in a t-shirt and black pants. She kept talking over us and would not listen because she assume more

Flies were not outside they were inside EATING WITH US!!!! 8/31/2010

Nasty...when we walked in we were ging to sit outside eat but they said there are flies outside so we opted to eat indoors not nowing indoors there were just as many flies.I have never in all my years been to a restraunt were u EAT WITH FLIES!!!!! I was so grossed out I couldnt continue to eat, it was my husbands birthday and we also had are 3 samll children I was so disappointed and didnt want to start any trouble but this was truely DISGUSTING to say the least. I got home and got sick of the thought of flies all over my food while I was eating!!!! Just GROSSSS.....NEVER AGAIN! And the food...HORRIBLE,NASTY FRIES AND COLE SLAW. My husband ordered half a lobster and shrimp and scallops and it was just terrible and a very small portion. So disappointed the health department should close them down!!!!!!!! more

Disgusting food and bad service 7/6/2010

Food and service were both awful. Will not recommend to anyone. Hostess was a rude and unattractive. When I told her the food "sucked" she told me she was offended that I'd use that language in front of my kid. I told her the food was even more offensive. If your looking for a satisfying and positive customer experience, "Jimmies of Savin Rock" IS NOT the place to spend your money. more

DISGUSTING FOOD 7/1/2010

Don't recommend this place at all. Food was terrible and service was even worse. If your looking for a decent customer experience, stay far from "Jimmies of Savin Rock". I recommend "Stowe Seafood, "Turks" and Captains Galley, if you want to eat in West Haven. From my experience today it is clear they do not value customers. Pros: none Cons: bad food and poor customer service more

Stomach Cramps 6/28/2010

The food there is absolutely awful!! There was enough grease dripping out of the take out bag to lube a car. I'm sitting here writing this review as I await the stabbing stomach cramps that are sure to come..Used to be good but don't know what happened. If you eat there be sure to buy some imodium. more

Manager From Hell 4/12/2010

As a lifelong W.H. resident, I am well aware of the Jimmies reputation, but after my recent experience there, let's just say that this is not your parent's Jimmies. I knew that the quality of the food has gone downhill over the years, but thought I would give it a try, as I was in the neighborhood. As expected, the food was alright, but nothing you couldn't get from Turks, Stowes, or even Chick's. But far more disturbing was the way the Manager berated our server right in front of customers and other employees. I have been a manager for many years, and I can tell you that this was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever witnessed. The young girl that was serving us couldn't have been nicer and did not deserve this verbal abuse. I was so upset that I couldn't even eat my lunch. Maybe that's a good thing! more

Excellent ! 4/28/2009

I live in Delaware and like Jimmies West Haven we have Our Seafood Restaurants serve fresh Sea Food. The difference here is in preparation and cooking. Here and other seafood establishments the fried seafood is breaded and deep fried. which makes them all taste pretty much the same. not bad but the same. I couldn't begin to tell you how food at Jimmies of Savin Rock is prepared. but if Jimmies were to open a Sea Food restaurant in this area or I'm pretty sure in any area of Delaware they would corner the market and put other sea food establishments out of business. I have never had sea food anywhere else in America that taste as good as Jimmies. I visit Ct twice a year and make it a point to go to jimmies whenever I'm there. OK so you may have to wait for an hour or so sometimes during the summer months for a table. That tells you that the food is that good and worth the wait. I highly recommend Jimmies of Savin Rock to anyone going through the area looking for excellent sea food. more

I will turn SIXTY tomorrow & Jimmies is still my favorite place to eat.\r \r I've been going to Jimmies since I was an infant & eating Lobster Rolls from there almost as long. I have never, ever been disappointed at Jimmies & will once again eat there for my birthday.\r \r I agree that the decor leaves something to be desired, but I've been to beautiful places where the food sucked. I've never seen it dirty & find that comment hard to believe.\r \r Awhile ago, Jimmies was going to sell there location and close down, I cried. \r Whenever my family or friends come back to CT to visit, the first place we all go is Jimmies. \r I find it hard to believe the bad reviews.\r \r ALL I CAN SAY IS JIMMIES FOREVER !!!! more

Beautiful view and location, on the water - Bland food! 7/17/2008

The sad part about my visit is that my husband and mother-in-law were so excited for me to try Jimmies because they frequently ate there when my husband was a child. I really loved the location, directly on the beach, but the food is bland and will make your just want to give it back to the kitchen. No flavor what so ever and heavily battered. I would be fine with the batter if it tasted like something. more

Gone downhill 6/13/2008

I have dined at Jimmies many times over the last Thirty years.The last three or four times the food has gone downhill. After the last time 05/20/08 i will never go back there again. You can get much better food at a roadside stand then at this restaurant.And at a much better price.The food was just plain bad,tasted bad,looked bad,and there was enough grease to float a barge.Would not recommend this place to anyone more

A MUST stop! We treated our wedding party here. It is set up on the water with a wonderful view! It is a bit pricey, but you get a lot for your money! There is a long wait, however, there are bars to sit in while you wait. It is truly worth the wait. more
