I took my car to Jennings with what I believed was a transmission problem. JC was able to determine that it was not a transmission problem and took the time to help diagnose what the problem actually was. They gave me advice on where to take my car, what to tell the mechanic, and sent me on my way with no charge. To say that these are honest and good people does not go far enough. more

I took my 1997 Acura to Jim Jennings with a trannie that was seriously slipping. They took a look at it and diagnosed the problem for no charge. Then, they found two used transmissions with high miles and honestly told me that they would not recommend putting such an old trannie into my car. Then, they gave me a fair price on rebuilt and used units and then advised me that it wouldn't be worth doing such a high priced repair on such an old car. In addition, they allowed me to search for a transmission on my own for 2 weeks. After all that time, I called them today to let them know that I was going to simply buy another car. They completely understood and didn't charge me a dime for keeping my car on their lot for over 2 weeks. I can't begin to express how utterly impressed I am with this operation. They are friendly, honest, knowledgable and professsional. I would recommend Jim Jennings to anyone and I am VERY discriminating as to who I would recommend for auto repair; especially transmission repair. Personally, I did my homework when the transmission failed but I would recommend this establishment to anyone; especially someone who knows nothing about transmissions and relies solely on the advice of their mechanic. With my research, I knew quite a bit about the job at hand and they never gave me information or advice that wasn't fair and accurate. Just take your car to them, follow their honest and expert advice and they will take care of you. Despite the extremely bad news about my car, this was, hands down, the most comfortable and worry-free business realtionship that I have had with ANY auto mechanic over the 20+ years that I have been on the road. I want to sincerely thank everyone at Jim Jenning as they infinitely exceeded my expectations. If you take your car for transmission repair to any other place,you will regret it. more

Jim Jennings made me feel soooo comfortable with there service. They will be Highly recommended by me at any time. If you want someone who cares and make you feel like family they are the perfect place. Communication is the key and made me aware of every little detail. Jim Jennings Transmission did an excellent job. They changed the fluid and put new gaskets in the transmission. They were prompt and finished the job when they said they were going to be done. I had actually used them previously many years ago. When I was looking for someone to do this recent work, Jim Jennings was recommended to me and I decided to use them again. I cannot say enough awesome things about Jim Jennings Transmissions. Everyone in there is so nice, so honest, and they do a great job very quickly! \r I went in there a few months ago with my car that was having some transmission problems, and I asked them to check it out for me. Not only did they check it out, but they made a minor repair and added fluid for no charge. I obviously took my car back there when the transmission needed to be rebuilt, and they did it for a great price in a timely fashion. They also have a very clean waiting area with free refreshments and friendly chit-chat!\r I would recommend Jim Jennings to EVERYONE! more

I live in Parkton and work Downtown so it is a little bit of a drive to Essex to have my car serviced but I don't care I trust these guys. I did have them replace the transmission in my 1997 Chevy Suburban. I still have it...it runs like a champ!!! more

I brought my '95 Taurus in to these guys because it wouldn't shift into Park and I feared I had a busted parking gear or something worse in the transmission. I rolled in on a day they were really busy and they informed me it might be something really minor and made me an appointment to come back later that day to have it looked at. I came back at the time they set for me and 10 mins after he looked at it they informed me it was a bracket that had come loose and just needed to be reinstalled. A common problem on older Ford's he said. They fixed it, only charged me $20 and I was on my way! The car now shifts better than when I got it used. \r \r They could have jacked up the bill and said it was something really serious like the linkage but they didn't. They were honest and a bunch of standup guys. I'm a customer for life now! more
