Best

Good ice cream, lots of choices. A tad pricey, as more families could come if they could afford to get the whole family ice cream. All in all, good experience!

Worst

I grew up with Jacksons and it has always been a treat to go and have ice-cream there. I moved out of State and 20 years later came back and had to have some Jacksons ice-cream. ...

One Time 2/15/2009

Crowded, grouch for greeter. Older strip shopping center. Always being bumped into. Dirty. Stand in line outside - no room to stand inside without being run over by wait staff. Anyone that thinks that the ice cream is good here - after getting through the heaps of whipped cream needs to have themselves checked out. Food menu looked generic and right off the food suppliers inventory list. No real individuality noticed. Tables and chairs are too close together, constantly bumped into from several directions. I'd give no stars if it was an option more

Excellent Ice Cream, crammed restaurant, and dirty facilities. 8/14/2006

I grew up with Jacksons and it has always been a treat to go and have ice-cream there. I moved out of State and 20 years later came back and had to have some Jacksons ice-cream. The place had not changed. The same piano, antique nick-nacks, the atmosphere had not changed. However, I was shocked to find the restaurant so filthy. The antiques had dust and cobwebs hanging off of them. The floor was filthy with food and crumbs. The restrooms were apalling (remember the restrooms are the business card of any restaurant). To top that off, I had lipstick marks on my disgusting plastic water cup that was as old as the establishment. I think that the management must do something about the cleanliness of its restaurant before the department of health does. I was disgusted and will never go back again! YUCK!!! Pros: Ice Cream, Ambience Cons: Cleanliness, Waiting more

BEST ICE CREAM PEROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/4/2006

I was born and raised in Florida so I know Jackson's is a real treat. They have been here for ever. When I was a kid we would often go there for dinner first (ICE CREAM) then go else where for dessert which was the family joke. Their icecream is PHENOMENIAL. The BEST EVER. They are so part of Florida history. I often take my niece and nephew there so they can enjoy this landmark in our beautiful state as I did; and I know they will take their kids there too. Pros: ICE CREAM, Sundaes, Banana Splits more

A GREAT FUN PLACE FOR OLD AND YOUNG ALIKE. 5/18/2005

JAXSON'S IS MORE THAN JUST ICE CREAM (WHICH IS GREAT) IT ALSO HAS THE BEST HAMBURGERS AND SALAD COMBOS IN THE AREA. THEIR FOOT LONG HOT DOGS ARE THE BEST. THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A CHILDS BIRTHDAY AN UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE. (ALSO ADULTS) I ALWAYS BRING MY OUT OF TOWN GUESTS TO JAXSON'S YOUNG AND OLD AND IT'S ALWAYS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Pros: GOOD VALUE, QUALITY FOOD, PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE more

great place to go 4/18/2005

the ice cream is excellent and the food is great. I highly recommend this resturant. more

Awesome place for ice cream 5/19/2004

This is some of the most rich, and delicious ice ream you will every have in Florida. You can choose from so many different flavors, and the shakes are to die for! The seating was a bit slow, but overall this is awesome ice cream and more! more

Best Ice Cream in South. 3/11/2004

You just must go there! Forget dinner. Nevermind any ambience. Ice cream lovers here is the end of your creamy rainbow. (Other end falls in Sandusky, Ohio upon Toft's.) Just plan to drive up and eat outside. Parking is tight but you won't mind. You'll just wish you had another mouth to eat a second waffle cone filled generously with another of the 53 flavors. Fifteen minutes from Ft. Lauderdale Beach district. We drive 25 min from Cooper City. Worth it! Pros: Scrumptious Ice Cream, Generous Portions, Eat Outside Cons: , Crowded Inside more

The Sweetest Place! 12/15/2003

The homemade butter pecan can't be beat. The bubble gum ice cream has real pieces of bubblegum in it! The Ice cream portions are huge, so worth the price. The Mile Long hot dog is super good and so are all the sandwiches we've tried. It is so fun to come here & share the experience with friends and family. Be prepared for the crowds & parking problems but it is WELL worth it!!! Pros: Makes you Happy, Great treats and food, Great atmosphere Cons: crowded, Parking more

One of a kind 12/5/2002

Jaxson's small and crowded but well worth the inconvenience. The restaurtant is full of bric and brac, items of nostalgia, and other memorabilia. Huge servings, could easily feed 3 people of the Death by Chocalate. Pros: huge servings, great value Cons: Crowded, Poor Parking more

I've been going here for 40 years!!! 10/2/2002

I remember coming here for my birthday parties as a kid and getting ice cream and fresh whipped cream in ceramic lambs. Now I come here with my own family and eat the huge ice cream sundaes for dinner and buy my kids the same candy I used to get in their candy store. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, The BEST ice cream Cons: Sometimes crowded more

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! 9/26/2002

Jaxson's has been around for a long time and we know why. The atmosphere is ""old time ice cream parlor"" and brings people back to simpler times. The portions of their ice cream are so huge you just have to share and laugh and just have a general good 'ol time. Pros: family atmosphere, creativity, food tastes good Cons: crowded more

Different but not the Best 9/18/2002

I had heard so much about this place that we made a group of our friends and our kids go. The wait was over an hour outside in the hot FL heat. The kid's ""pizza"" was horrible and the food in general was pricey. There was also a sharing fee, granted the portions are large but you have no choice on size. The soda is generic yet it costs about $2/glass no refills! Overall it was an experince but I wouldn't recommend it. The Ice Cream was good but Frozen Hageen Daz is better. Pros: The decor is cool, kids like it interest, HUGE IceCream portion Cons: LONGGG Lines, Lines are outside, the food is BAD! & $$ more

Everything old is new again! 8/20/2002

It's an ice cream parlor...no a burger joint...wait a candy store. This place has it all! In addition to classic American food, Jaxson's has what is best described as an old-fashioned candy store up front featuring some classic candy treats that will take you way back. But it is the home made ice cream that draws the crowds and the Saturday night lines that stretch half way down the strip mall sidewalk. Whether you eat dinner here or elsewhere, save room for dessert. The adult-sized desserts can be monstrous! Have you ever tried to finish a dessert of three large brownies topped with three humongous scoops of ice-cream, a gob of fresh whipped cream, a cherry and a sidecar of warm fudge? Is it possible? Pros: Incredible ice cream, Friendly atmosphere, Old-fashioned candy Cons: Long lines on weekend more

Ambiance 8/19/2002

This icecream parlor has ambiance, and is a wonderful establishment to experience a delightful desert for the whole family, as well as for dates, or just an outing. The menu and service are excellent. The portions are very large. The interior and design creates an old fashioned icecream parlor that is just plain fun to visit, while enjoying a special treat. The music is in keeping with the total admosphere. I recommend this icecream parlor for everybody's agenda since it is well worth the trip for locals and visitors. Pros: fast service, fun entertainment, quality food more

Only one within hundreds of miles 8/18/2002

It's old, it's unique, it's the best. Old fashioned ice cream parlor, with the best homemade ice cream & gargantuan quanitites. You have to go experience it in order to understand, it's beyond words. If you don't like this place, then you just don't get it. Pros: quality, quantity, uniqueness more
