I really liked how they treaded me here, and were completely honest about my actual problem.\r I thought that I needed a new water pump because my car wouldn't stop over heating, and all my friends told me it was a defective water pump I thought it would be a couple hundred dollar's. had my car inspected and they told me it was just a defective ""thermostat"" which all together only cost me $75.00 dollars to fix. more

Was in La Habra on a Sunday afternoon when my 2006 VW Jetta blew a head gasket. Called AAA who recommended Jax and towed the car there. Left the key in a slot and our friends brought us home to L.A. Called Mon. AM and talked to Brian. Was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Within a couple days the diagnosis was complete and I was given a line-item list of costs for parts and labor. Searching the Internet gave me an idea of what to expect. Jax was in the middle of the range, so I gave them the go ahead. Repairs were completed pretty much on-time and the car has been running flawlessly since. This was major work, and I have zero complaints. I just wish Jax was closer to my home. If they were, I would never let anyone else touch the car. more

I took my car to Jax Auto for a oil change and received great service from Kal and Jesse. I have lived in the area for a while and still haven't found a good mechanic that had good prices, good service and friendly people. I think I finally found it! They made me feel very comfortable and explained everything to me. Plus the prices were very competitive. I even got to talk to Jack, the owner, and he seemed really great as well. I highly recommend going to Jax Auto! more

The Only Mechanic I Trust 3/14/2012

I found JAX through my sister after I had spent months and a couple thousand dollars at other repair shops trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. JAX pinpointed the problem and had it fixed by noon the same day- for $600! Since then I have never taken my car to another shop, not even for an oil change. I trust JAX completely. An Honest Mechanic 8/12/2010

A friend recommended Jax. I took my car in, and they did a great repair for a fair price. I sent my wife, and without worry, she got home safe and sound without our bank account being shut down. Since then, i've sent both my daughters and know Jack will take care of them without overcharging and doing unnecessary repairs. I highly recommend his services. more

Orange County's Honest Mechanic 8/11/2010

I've had more than my fair share of bad repair shops. After searching for a new mechanic, I found Jax. I went for a smog, and came out with an estimate for some serious repairs, but I liked the thoroughness the lead tech gave me when explaining what was wrong with my car. I sent my son in to get his car fixed, and it was just a little tune up. I feel more than comfortable sending my family to Jax and know they're only going to fix what needs to be fixed. They don't make up problems. Finally an honest mechanic. more

Jax Auto Repair - Outstanding 8/5/2009

I first used Jax in 1986. Since then he has taken care of all my cars. It's the only place I can send my wife to without fear of getting something that wasn't needed. more

A nice surprise! 4/20/2007

Jax did some unusual repairs for my daughter's car last year. They charged less than other estimates and did extra repair for free.\r We went back for a couple of other things and we love them.\r I am going to them today for a transmission for my daughter's car that has 155,000 miles on it. The Ford dealer charged me money to do nothing except turn over the engine. Edgar is pleased to take care of us again and said to come on down. more

JAX is the place to take your car 3/13/2007

I recently had to have a "Smog Test Only", which I have come to find out that 60% of vehicles fail! I took the car to JAX Automotive Repair and discussed the problem with the lead mechanic, whom I have known for some time. He told me that it was a simple repair and fixed it promptly, and at a fair price. The car passed the "Test Only" with flying colors! The dealer wanted over twice as much to do the same work (I checked), and the car now runs perfectly. Edgar, the lead mechanic, is honest, reliable, and I have no problem sending my wife to him for auto repairs, and have recommended him to several friends, who also agree with me. Even on a new vehicle, once out of factory warranty, I will rely on JAX and Edgar to keep it running in top condition. more

Seemed friendly 3/12/2007

Had a problem with my car stalling....they said they couldnt find the problem for days.....then they told me it was some control valve and all they had to do was clean it.....they cleaned it....i drove off and my car died at the red light....i had it towed to another shop and they said someone unplugged all my hoses.....WOW....considering the area they worked on wasnt even close to my internal hoses.....\r \r F---- DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!! BEWARE! more

Highly Reccommended....outstanding service 1/20/2007

We have been taking our cars to Jax Auto for over 20 years and have NEVER had one problem. We even sent our teenage girls with their cars knowing that they would not be taken advantage of. We have always totally trusted JAX with our cars and have never been disappointed. I will say that if their prices are higher on some things (you can always find a coupon for an oil change) it is completely worth it, knowing the care and type of service they have given to our cars. We have referred many people to JAX and every single one of them has been more than happy with the service and the price. I question the first reviewer's motives in giving a negative review. If it is only about the cost of auto repair, you will always be taking a chance going with the lowest price over the best service. Our entire family feels very comfortable in taking our cars to JAX Auto and telling them to "Do whatever it needs." and never having to worry about unnecessary repairs/charges or being overcharged fo more

unfortunately, I have to disagree with these people I have been a customer of Jax Auto for 3yrs, they do reliable work, technician know there German cars like back of hand, and there prices are little bit higher compare to others that?s because they do quality work and there in downtown Brea, I would highly suggest this place if you own a German vehicle. more

Be wary 12/8/2006

Here's my opinion: i agree with Sasha D. It is AAA approved, etc. BUT, they do not follow proper procedure, their story changes constantly, they do not do what they say, and they are incompetent. It used to be a good place but it is now run by a man that you can't trust - because of the above.\r \r i would encourage you to stay away from this place as long as he's there. more

While he does satisfactory work, his prices are quite high and he loves to act as if he is cutting you a great deal and not making much money. His whole act is very annoying and he does not seem very trustworthy. Go somewhere else if you are looking for someone to trust. more
