Jack Powell Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

After being told by the salesman the used van we were looking at had been checked out by his mechanics and was fine, we took it to our long-time mechanic for a report. He told us not to buy the van. The engine computer had been wiped clean so no one could see any potential problems or the history of the engine's workings. It had been in an unreported accident, very apparent to our mechanic, but was not disclosed to us. The accident may have bent the frame, but without an alignment, we could not know for sure. Back bumper was loose. $1,500 of engine work needed. When we told Rick the salesman our findings, he called us liars and told us we should not trust our mechanic. We walked out. Our advice...Don't walk in. more

I read all the great reviews on this page and wonder who wrote them. Other review pages have a large number of very bad reviews so this page is suspect. We took a used van from Jack Powell's to be looked over by our mechanic. We told Rick the salesman about the findings and about the accident the van had been in and the fact that the computer in the engine, the one that does engine checks now and then and shows a history of what has gone on with the engine, had been wiped clean. Rick got mad and defensive and told us our mechanic was no good and that we were liars. Now, we know they are not obligated to disclose everything, but being attacked like that sent us immediately out the door. If Rick had been nice, even if he refused our offer of a much lower price than the asking price, we would have been fine. We would not have bought the vehicle because of the scary red flags that had come up, but we would not be warning people away from this car dealer. On the other hand, wouldn't it be wonderful for a dealer to be forthright about a used car's condition? When pigs fly. more

My SUV needed new shocks and after pricing out the parts and labor at some of my trusted repair shops, I tried Jack Powell's; with the discount coupon, my total repair was quite a bit lower than the other quotes and best of all, I dropped it off on a Friday night and it was done and ready for pickup Saturday afternoon! Matthew (my service writer) was like a magician making it all happen so magically fast, with none of that runaround upselling you get sometimes at big dealerships. He really knows his stuff and was very up-front with me about which parts to order, how much it should all cost, etc. And my shocks are awesome, I can't wait to test them out off-pavement. more

Great Customer Service I had an issue with Bob Baker Jeep/Dodge in Carlsbad, it seems that the Service Manager did not want to accept our Service Contract that we purchased for Oil Changes. We are a military family that have a lot of "dodge" friends and have always bragged about Bob Baker. However, we no longer refer them to our friends, we tell them to go to Jack Powell instead. I called them and asked if they would accept the contract and not only did she say YES...anytime, but she was upset at the fact that Bob Baker did not want my business. Yes, Escondido is a trip for us but it is worth the time for No Hassels!!!! Thank you Jack Powell more

I don't know about taking my car in for service but I do know that when I called this morning the person in the Parts Department was nothing less than friendly and efficient in looking up my part and ordering it. Very good customer service as far as I can tell. more

The car sold itself really, but the sales guy, Niel I believe, knew to let the car do the talking. The paperwork guy was nice too and he helped me find a lower interest rate than USAA - which we thought was really good. we talked about how treating people well has rewarded the car lots still hanging around - so props to Jack Powell for that. I did not negotiate the price down at all, which is my main regret. I got carried away by the 6.1 Hemi, figuratively and literally! It's just awesome. Thanks! more

I went to another dealer and they do not have service hours on Saturday I purchased a part from them which they had only one in stock. I purchased the same part at Jack Powell and it was half of the price that I paid from the other dealer. more

I was highly impressed with the staff and facilities at Jack Powell Chrysler Dodge. When my husband's car engine exploded last year we decided to purchase new (for the first time ever!) and that a Dodge Caliber would be the best thing at the time. We have been super pleased with our decision. The guys at Jack Powell were patient, friendly, and got me everything I wanted in a car, really quick! Everyone is impressed at how the Caliber looks so small on the outside but it is very roomy inside. Room enough for fatty pup Domino to be cozy and comfy in the back seat! And lots of storage too. But I digress. They were able to get exactly the color and model that I wanted in no time at all, and they have been great for services and supplies, like a snowboard rack. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! more

The work that was done was excellent, and the price was fair. I have no complaints on the work that was done. The communication between myself and Mike Patterson was fantastic. I would reccomend this shop, provided that they stop the feeding frenzy that seems to happen everytime someone rolls into the shop!! more

My latest diesel service, oil change and tire rotation, was done in a timely manner with no appointment required. The service rep was able to provide a discount for my oil change without a coupon. The windshield repair on coupon was probably done as well as could be expected and there was little or no improvement. I've gotten both my vehicles serviced at Jack Powell since the Poway dealership closed and I've been satisfied with the work. more
