Don't bother with this company 7/26/2019

I ended up selling my house and knew that I would be moving in 10 months because my husband pcs'd to North Carolina and I decided to stay in Killeen so that I could finish working as a teacher. Because we were going to have to rent 2 different places we decided to go as cheap as we could possible. I rented a place in downtown killeen for $625 a month. My first impression with the company was horrible. My husband called ahead to get the keys to look at the house and the lady he spoke with said "it's available come get the keys." When I showed up to get the keys the lady at the front said that house was not available. I was very frustrated, but thought I hadn't been quick enough. I immediately called my husband and he called JWC back and they told him the house was available. I went in again to get the keys and the same lady as before told me I couldn't have them. Long story short my husband had to come in with me and point out what she was doing and then we got the keys. I think she was trying to save that house for a friend or something. The place in downtown Killeen really wasn't a bad neighborhood. However, the house I got was not cleaned when we moved in. There were stains all over the toilets, holes in the wall, a hole punched through the door, the carpets needed to be replaced 10 years ago. There were between 50 - 100 dead cockroaches all over the floors. The carpets were heavily stained. It was clear that it had not been cleaned before us because there were small toys, hair pins, and beads all around the walls. Within the first few nights of moving in the air conditioning went out in the middle of August. They could not send someone to fix it for two days so I ended up staying in a hotel for 2 nights. It worked for a few days after being fixed and then broke again and I got to spend another 2 nights in a hotel (cheap isn't so cheap anymore). I got very very sick throughout the year. I am only 29, but I missed more days of work than I ever had in 5 years as a teacher. I believe it was mold. more

Disastrous Property Mgt 11/15/2017

The house my wife first bought together and had our first child back in 1981 while we were stationed at Ft Hood became a rental property managed by JWC. We were out of State and out of Country for many years. We were assured our property was being taken care of and looked good. We moved back to TX and drove up from San Antonio to find our house in ruins- the siding was falling off, you could see the insulation and studs. The house had windows and screens busted, doors with holes and scratches from pets, carpet stained from animal urine. The tenant had moved out suddenly and no claim was put in via collection claims for over 3 yrs. JWC only defense was that they were proud that it was rented out the entire time it was listed with them. It cost over $6,000 for new siding and thousands for new doors, carpet, paint, patching. JWC was the worst management company I have ever used or heard about. more

JWC Treats Customers Fairly - Customer since 2008 6/18/2012

I have been a customer of JWC since 2008, and I have found them to be fair and to act with integrity with all parties. I have had many residents who when they move out receive 100 percent of their security deposit returned to them. Residents are charged a non-refundable pet fee if they have a pet when they lease a property. I would recommend that any residents who have questions about the security deposits retained to request a copy of the pictures and itemized list of expenses. You have to keep in mind that JWC leases over 2000 units so lets say there are around 5000 residents in the properties they manage for owners in any given year. They could not continue to grow each year if didn't treat both residents and owners fairly. If you look at the number of customer that post something bad about this company, it is a fraction of 1 percent that have had complaints in any one year. As is always the case, there are two sides to every story. Unfortunately the thousands of satisfied customers do not post comments on these websites. more

I'm pleased to have my properties managed by JWC Property Management. They keep a fair balance between property owners and tenants with an understanding that the owners must keep their properties in good upkeep to attract and retain a good customer base. When repairs are needed, I am contacted quickly to have reepairs accomplished. The check in-check-out inspection report is very thorough and provides latest reflections of a properties condition. I am very satisfied with JWC Rentals and Property Management. more

Highly recommend 5/29/2011

Jim Wright and JWC Rentals & Property Management have provided me with rental management services for as many as 44 Fort Hood area rental units since 1978. During that time he and his company have handled tenant qualification, rental collections and disbursements, onsite inspections, maintenance and repairs, and all other local details involved in managing these units, and during that time I have never had an occasion to be dissatisfied with his property management services. As one of the larger property management companies in the Fort Hood area, he has the staff to handle all aspects of property management and I depend completely on his recommendations and services. He provides comprehensive monthly reports and yearly summaries as well as prompt recommendations regarding required maintenance. As a former Army officer he understands the importance of keeping the rentals in good condition as well as servicemember needs and issues, which I feel is especially important in serving the Fort Hood military community. JWC Rentals & Property Management have done an outstanding job managing my rental properties and I can recommend him highly for any type of residential or commercial property management requirement. more

Good Property Managment Company 10/7/2007

JWC is a good company to handle your rental property if you are deployed or move out of the area. They get your proceeds out to you in a timely manner as well as your statements and let you know when your property is coming vacant. They get extimates for repairs and most of all are honest with both you and the tenants. more

Good rental company- helpful 8/18/2005

This rental company has been helpful to us. They have been able to do fairly quick repairs and are always just a phone call away if we have a question. The office is located in the middle of town so its easy access. You can pay your rent in the office or drop it in the night drop box. The pet feeisn't high either. Currently it's $100 per pet. Overall.... good company. more
