Jay and Adriane were wonderful. After several weeks of ring shopping all over Nashville, my fiance and I found several things we liked, but nothing we loved. Jay helped us combine everything we liked about several different pieces into one beautiful ring. His focus was on getting everything my fiance wanted while respecting my price range. During our initial consultation, he made sure to take the time to get to know us as a couple. He educated us both about diamonds so that we could be informed consumers getting the most out of each dollar we spent, while never sacrificing quality. Jay is timely and professional but above all, caring. He cares not only for creating the perfect ring, but the process it takes to get there. I will always come back to Jay for my jewelry needs in the future not only because of the great job he did for us, but because he is now a good friend. more

I can't imagine my experience purchasing an engagement ring could have been any better than it was with J. Yontef.\r \r Jay came highly referred to me from a friend. I'm so glad I chose to follow through with the recommendation. From the very beginning, the process was easy and relaxing. Jay has been in the business for 40+ years and was just as excited and passionate about my process as if it was his first ring ever! He made sure I recieved the knowledge necessary to build the perfect ring for my fiancee.\r I was never pressured one way or the other, because once I had the knowledge I was able to make a knowledgable decision every step of the way.\r \r I was asked once my budget, and it was never mentioned again. Jay made sure to keep it within the restraints, even coming in under my budget when it was all said and done. It was a personal experience and the ring came out better than I could have ever imagined. I cant wait to meet with Jay again, along with my fiancee. I contacted Jay and Adriene about designing an engagement ring after having gone to several of the local chain stores around Nashville (Genesis, Shane Co.) and getting tired of their sales pitches and overpriced diamonds. After going to those places, I decided that (with the help of my dad who had done the same thing for my stepmom a few years earlier) that I would buy a loose stone and then have it mounted at a local jeweler. From the moment I stepped into their office, I was treated like a member of their family. They were extremely helpful in teaching me all I needed to know about designing the perfect ring for me. The first thing we did was examine and verify that the stone I had purchased fit the specifications that went along with its GIA certification. They said that I had done well with the marquise cut diamond that I had purchased, but I know now that had I gone to Jay and Adriane from the beginning, I could have been even more selective and satisfied with my choice of stone and would have gotten a great price from them as well. They showed me how the loose diamonds that you buy from the internet are at the lower level of each grade even if they do fit the grade they are given, and that there is actually a huge window of color and clarity even in just the F VS2 grades alone. I know that for the next gemstones I buy I will go directly to Jay and Adriane to pick the loose stone from the beginning. \r \r After we verified the diamond I had purchased, we discussed a setting for the diamond. I showed them a picture of my girlfriend and they agreed that a marquise cut diamond was great for her. I then told them what I had in mind and Jay wrote down some information on my budget and design and told me he would get back to me with the design in a few weeks since I was not on a strict schedule. Within the month Jay got back to me with a beautiful design and began making the ring. It turned out better than I could of imagined; I can't wait to propose. more

When my husband first proposed to me, I was in awe of how absolutely stunning and unique my engagement ring was! He then excitedly began telling me about the process of designing it with Jay and Adriane and making it into a reality. He couldn't rave enough about how professional, educated and fun they were to work with. I could tell he was proud of the product and understandably so! It came out so beautiful. I get compliments on it all the time! When we began the search for wedding bands, we knew exactly where we wanted to go for them. It was my first time meeting Jay and Adriane and they exceeded my expectations just as they had my husbands. Not only is the work they do breathtakingly beautiful, but they are a blast to work with and talk to. They listen when they need to and suggest ideas when you want them to. It's like having a family member you trust designing the most special piece of jewelry you will ever wear. I would highly recommend them for any of your jewelry needs. I know we will be back again. :) more

I cannot recommend Jay & Adrienne enough. From the very start, they called me back right away and had great communication. So easy to work with. They're very passionate, knowledgeable professionals that listened very carefully to what I wanted and then gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. \r \r Most importantly they made me such a beautiful ring that I am thanking my lucky stars I decided to have them make it. My fiancé and I wanted to design my engagement ring together- that was important to us. And the reason that we decided to do a custom ring in the first place, was because I had my heart set on something very unique. I'm not the typical diamond engagement kind of girl. From the very beginning I told Jay that I am wanted a morganite and rose gold ring, and I brought in an example of pieces that I had put together. My fiancé take it from there and he enjoyed working with them as well.\r \r When my fiancé proposed to me I was absolutely stunned at how precise and exact the ring was to what I had asked for. I'm still in awe at how beautiful it came out and how proud I am of the fact that it's a custom design and a literal one-of-a-kind piece. I can't tell you how special it is to have a ring that was custom-made,designed by me and my fiancé. \r \r I trust J and Adrian 100%. I know they worked really hard on that and it meant a lot to me that they put so much time effort into giving me exactly what I asked for. When I called them after we got engaged to thank them for helping bring the ring to life and for how beautiful it was, Jay told me he was so happy for us and that we were family to them and if needed anything else in the future they'd be happy to work with us again. I may not have a lot of experience or knowledge in gems or jewelry but I can tell you that creating an absolutely gorgeous engagement ring with Jay and Adriane is easily one of the best consumer experiences I have ever had. After leaving a contact email I was promptly called by Adriane to set up an appointment. We talked for around ten minutes and then she asked me to bring a few ideas and some pictures of my lady. During the appointment Jay and I talked about designs, my intent and budget amongst other things. Jay and Adriane helped me refine my ideas and set up a follow up appointment after he had some stones based on our ideas. At that meeting he showed me numerous options, highlighting pros and cons without pressuring me one way or the other. Adriane is particularly keen on pairing what shapes, designs and colors look best based on the pictures you provided. After stones were picked and an estimate was made CAD designs were sent to me showing me how the final ring would look and to make any last minute changes if needed (not necessary in my experience). After that it was a short three week wait and I was able to pick up an absolutely stunning sapphire engagement ring. Now I believe it is normal for friends and family to compliment an engagement ring but you know you have done well when complete strangers go out of their way to compliment your ring. That is the type of quality and professional service you get from J Yontef and I could not more highly recommend them to anyone who wants to make a truly special piece of jewelry for someone you truly care about. more

When I began investigating ways to create an engagement ring for my fiancee, I did not think it would be as easy as it was. I had some family stones that I needed incorporated into the design, and most jewelers told me that they could take out a stone from a ring they already had and replace it with my family's stone. Well, I thought that was a rather round-about way to get things done. But that's not how Jay and Adriane operate.\r \r From the moment I walked into their office, Jay and Adriane made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They helped show me that anything was possible with what I had available, both with my family's stones and my budget. We came up with several beautiful designs from which I was able to choose, and ultimately, we came in under budget. They were willing to work with me on my terms, educate me about the process, stone quality, etc., and serve as a sounding board when I wanted to talk things through. They took the time to meet with me on several occasions in order to get to know me and understand my relationship with my fiancee. I never once felt rushed or pressured into making a decision, and as a result, I think I came out of the process with the perfect ring. (My fiancee thinks so, too.)\r \r Quite simply, we owe it all to Jay and Adriane. You guys are the best. more

The process of working with Jay was absolutely wonderful. I went around to all the antique ring shops in Nashville to try & find a specific style of engagement ring, with no luck. I brought ideas of what I wanted to Jay & before we talked about price or anything else, he sat me down & gave me a 1.5 hour lesson on diamonds - what to look for, what is important, how they're cut, etc. - and I left feeling like an expert. We then talked about what I wanted, what my budget was & the process of getting the custom ring began. 3 weeks later, my fiance (and anyone else who sees it) loves the ring. It's a truly unique, one of a kind piece. He was extremely transparent, honest & trustworthy, especially for a guy who has no clue about diamonds or jewelry. Highly recommended. Thanks Jay! more

Jay & A are absolutely incredible to work with. I knew I wanted a custom ring for my girl. After 12 years together, those chain diamond stores just aren't enough. I read many reviews before going to meet with them & never visited another jeweler. They had me from ""we'll make this perfect."" I wanted to see a couple different stones we could use for the center & Jay called to let me know they were in. I'll never forget the conversation as he said, ""one of them is perfect, you will choose the right stone."" I said to him, ""I'm sure it's the bigger & more expensive one."" His reply, ""actually, it's not."" He could have easily tried to guide me into buying the bigger diamond, but he held true on his promise to make it perfect. I know where I will go in the future! I have to recommend Jay and Adriane as I needed an engagement ring with the diamond from the grandmothers engagement ring. I was curious as to why I needed an appointment but when I realized that you get a one on one meeting with them it all made sense. I was taught how to recognize my diamond on the first visit and then got the diamond the same day so I could propose that night. The next thing I did was bring in my fiance so that she could pick out the engagement ring to place the diamond in. They sat patiently with us and worked with her to design the engagement ring that she wanted. They were able to get the diamond in the ring and have it back to me in time to surprise my fiance yet again on her birthday and was she ever surprised. He made me feel like a big spender and I can assure you I was not. We will be back for our wedding rings. more

Highly Recommended 4/18/2012

My experience with Jay and Adriane was fantastic from start to finish. Jay took the time to sit down with me on numerous occasions to discuss and design my engagement ring. The entire experience (and not to mention the ring) was custom designed specifically for me and my fiance. Jay views the entire transaction as a learning experience for the customer, and it was just that. He makes sure that you know exactly what you're buying and that you're completely satisfied with your purchase. His experience in the industry is evident, and it's reflected in his product. Finally, and most importantly, my fiance absolutely loves the ring. I was a little worried about designing it without any input whatsoever from her, but I really don't think it could've turned out any better. And that's thanks in large part to Jay and Adriane -- thank you both so much! more

Forget going to a brand name store and picking out a ring that is just like that gal who live down the street. J.
