Expectations Exceeded 1/3/2006

After an extensive search for the perfect vintage style engagement ring (which took me as far as New Orleans), I found a couple that were acceptable, but not perfect. I contacted Jay to discuss designing a ring that was similar - a couple of meetings later, the design was set, the diamond chosen, and the wait began. Jay was very excited when the ring arrived - he couldn't wait for me to see it. It was amazing - the attention to detail and the workmanship is first class. The ring was burning a hole in my pocket - you just can't keep something that nice hidden away. She absolutely loves the ring. It is mesmerizing. Simply put, you will not be disappointed! more

Exquisite Ring 12/19/2005

My Fiance-to-be put me in charge of all details about her engagement ring - except that she wanted platinum. Jay was recommended to me by a trusted colleague, who was very happy with his work. Jay was prompt, professional, and extremely knowlegable -no nonsense. I really liked the fact that he has a small office, essentially no overhead, and delivers a true boutique, custom feel to the experience. He helped me create exactly what I had in my mind's eye. The diamond, the engraving, the custom work were all exquisite: a one-of-a-kind hand-made heirloom. And the price was very reasonable. No need for Tiffany's - better value, artistry, and uniqueness with Jay's work. My Fiance, and everyone who sees the ring, absolutely love it. I have recommended Jay to all my friends and colleagues. more

Jay is a Godsend!!! 11/7/2005

I wanted the ring for my fiancé to be a total surprise and the most beautiful ring ever. For a 28-year-old male with little knowledge of rings, to find this ring was no easy task, until my sister who lives in Nashville referred me to Jay. To have never met in person he took so much time with me on building this perfect ring. From countless phone calls and emails, Jay educated me and guided me through styles, shapes, sizes, cuts, clarity, and all the other variables that encompass an engagement ring. Jay first found the perfect diamond for me at a diamond show in Vegas. And when I finally decided on the design, Jay far exceeded my expectations. And the saint that he is, I got the most beautiful ring ever for a very reasonable price; I feel I could not have done better anywhere else. Thanks Jay more

Jay's the man! 10/22/2005

After much searching, my fiance and I finally discovered Jay on city search. We were designing our own engagement ring and wanted to incorporate two stones from both sides of our family. While other jewelers were less than helpful (in fact, discouraging), Jay was encouraging and excited about our ideas. Jay made the whole process completely painless (I would say fun, but I don't know that I could honestly call ring shopping fun). Jay helped us find a third stone to match the other two and together we created a unique, antique style, custom made ring. The end product came out perfectly - it's exactly as we wanted - even better! Throughout the whole process, Jay was friendly, responsive, and professional. If you go to Jay, you'll be very happy. UNPARALLELED ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND SERVICE 8/22/2005

The entire experience with Jay has been incredible. I am a novice to jewelry, and wanted the perfect ring for my fiance. There was never a time throughout the whole process that i felt anything but complete confidence in his abilities. For our first meeting with him, Jay was willing to meet with us on a Saturday to accomodate our schedules! I really appreciated his time and dedication (Jay-i apologize if i just messed up your saturdays for the next year). Of course, it is quite easy to research his work and i quickly found out that his experience and credibility were of the highest caliber. In any industry i have yet to find someone with his true level of passion for his craft. He has earned the utmost respect. I recently had Jay put together a diamond ring for my wife for our son's birth. When I came in with an idea of what I wanted based on internet sites, Jay went extra miles to educate me on diamond quality, and picked out an fantastic stone and setting I would have never found on my own. Temporary bridges can last forever... 8/1/2005

My punctuality in writing this review is in no way reflective of how much of a pleasure it IS working with Jay. From the first time I met Jay I felt very comfortable and confident in his work. I wanted to give my fiance the perfect ring and Jay helped me decide on the design of her ring. And let me tell you....it is a beaut!! It truly is a one of a kind and that's what I was looking for on my fiance's hand. And she has been so proud of it and its uniqueness ever since she accepted in on a temporary bridge in Venice thats been standing for over 300 years... INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE 7/25/2005

I went to many other stores around town to find an engagement ring, but was never able to find exactly what I was looking for. My girlfriend described the ring she wanted and she knew that I wanted to make this a surprise for her. When I found Jay it was my last stop since he was very willing and able to work within my budget and go far beyond what any other jeweler could dream of providing. He is very eager to please and has the resources to make your every dream come true! Exceeding Expectations 7/7/2005

I was referred to Jay through my brother who is an insurer who works with Mr. Yontef. So before I ever even met with him I already had extremely high expectations. By the time I had a chance to talk with Jay and pick out an engagement ring my expectations had grown even more. And even with such high expectations, the day that I picked up the finished ring my jaw hit the floor. The craftsmanship, the quality of the stones, the way he had created a ring that was exactly what I was picturing in my head, everything was perfect. I'm sure she is going to love it. more

More than pleased with results and service! 6/15/2005

When I lost my favorite pair of earrings that my husband had given me I was distraught. Luckily I had them insured and the insurance agent gave the name and number for J. Yontef Diamonds and Custom Jewelry. I was skeptical and took my estimate to a few local jewlers and none could replace them for the amount of money they were insured for. So I took a chance and call J. Yontef and sent him the picture and quote form the insurance and he said no problem. Not only did he make the earrings like before but he made them better! Great even from out of state! 5/18/2005

My fiance got my engagement ring and wedding band from Jay and of course I loved them! I knew that I wanted to get his wedding band through Jay, but we moved out of state shortly after we got engaged. When the time came to buy, I knew exactly what I wanted. I called Jay and described what I wanted over the phone. He called me later that day with a quote (which was less expensive than other places I found locally), I sent the check the same day and I had the ring in a little over a week! It was exactly what my fiance wanted and I couldn't believe how easy it was! It was so nice to know that I could feel confident making such an important purchase over the phone. more

Exquisite work 4/27/2005

When the prong on my engagement ring broke a few months ago, I finally had an excuse to get my ring re-made. 7 years ago I found an antique setting and my husband bought the center stone. I was never happy with the way it was originally set. The ring was also about to snap because when they sized it the platinum became too thin. I really needed a new setting. J. Yontef was able to recreate the setting to what it should be and placed the center stone perfectly so that it kept that antique look but still looked like a custom made ring. He also made me a beautiful matching wedding band that fit perfectly with the engagement ring. The pieces are flawless together. J. Yontef did exactly what I wanted and now I have the rings of my dreams. I can't stop looking at my left hand! more

exceeded expectations 4/24/2005

Most reviews on here are from guys, but as a girl who had Jay design my wedding band I was completely amazed at the beautiful work he did. The shape of my engagement ring was unique and standard wedding bands did not lie well against the ring creating a noticeable gap. Jay was able to take my engagement ring and design a wedding band to fit perfectly. His new wedding band matches perfectly with my antique engagement ring making it the perfect set. Jay went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. more

Incredible Work 4/18/2005

After searching everywhere from high end jewelry stores to diamond outlets, I finally found Jay's help. From beginning to end, he was professional, kind, courteous, honest, and most importantly, the right person to build the perfect engagement ring for my girlfriend. He takes a budget and makes more than you ever though possible out of it. Working alone, Jay has no overhead and has access to incredible stones. Stones, which he, as a certified professional, examines with you under a microscope. Thrilled with her ring, my girlfriend now cannot wait to meet Jay in effort to build our wedding bands. more

Look no further! 3/15/2005

We shopped many stores for engagement rings, and knew what we saw was not what we hoped for. A friend suggested Jay and from the moment we called, he provided prompt, professional and courteous customer service. We met with Jay to discuss our budget and preferences. He was very helpful explaining our options and seemed to know exactly what we were looking for. On our second visit to look at diamonds Jay had chosen, savvy jeweler and lover of love birds that he is, Jay handed Andy a jewelry box and asked me to close my eyes. Andy placed the ring on my finger and when I opened my eyes, it was simply perfect! The most beautiful, brilliant diamond I have ever seen. You need not worry about value with Jay, he will exceed your expectations. We'll be seeing him again very soon for our wedding rings. I can't wait! more
