I visited the restaurant in Dublin this morning for Sunday brunch. The perosn at the front was rude as heck. The atmosphere didn't improve during the rest of the visit. We visited the location in Worthington and were pleased. This location was poor. The food was OK, the price was OK, the rest of the experience was very poor. Not a good experience, we will not return. more

Excellent value if you're looking for a remarkable steak 1/14/2007

My wife and I go to J. Alexander's every year on my birthday because it is my favorite place to get a steak in Columbus. It's more expensive than Lonestar or Outback, but you definitely get what you pay for at J. Alexander's. I wish they would bring back the twice-baked sweet potatoes, but in the meantime, it's still my favorite steak in C-Bus! more

My husband & i went here on our wedding night at a friends suggestion. We look forward to going back every year on our anniversary. The food, service, & atmosphere is perfect. I always get the steak maui & it just melts in your mouth. The prime rib is another good choice. They used to have this pork dish about 8 yrs ago that they don't carry anymore. this pork chop was 1-1 1/2 inches thick & cooked to profection. We had never tasted a pork chop like that & probably never will again unless they bring it back. Overall this is the perfect restaurant for just about anything. Pros: everything Cons: it's about a 25 min drive from where i live more

Steak Maui is THE BEST 6/5/2005

I've had J. Alexander's prime rib, filet etc... and they are FABULOUS. BUT - the steak maui is to die for! It's slightly sweet and melts in your mouth. From day one that I had it - that's all I order when I go there but everthing on the menu is great and the steak is always grilled to perfection. I wish I was eating steak maui right now! Pros: food, service, ambiance Cons: Only 1 location more

Excellent FOOD! 4/26/2005

Everything about their food is excellent. I highly recommend the burger medium rare!!!! I asked the chef about their burgers and they hand grind on their beef on premises daily. No worries about ECOLI, order it rare and you won't be dissapointed. I compare it to Thurmans burgers and J's beats them easily!!!!! I had visited J Alexanders for the first time and I will, without a doubt, dine there again! They have the best service, Steak that melts in your mouth, the portions will have you asking for a to go box! It is well worth the money. Pros: Excellent service, Excellant food, No dress code Cons: , need larger tables more

J Alexander's is fasionable without being trendy, where they always cook your steak right the fist time and where the portions don't leave you wondering what you are paying for. Pros: atmosphere, portions, cost Cons: small waiting area, insufficent parking, not child friendly more

A Cut Above the Rest 1/13/2003

I grew up only ten minutes from J. Alexanders but I am now at college. So whenever I go home, my parents already know where we are going to eat. We regularly choose J.A. over Ruth's Chris and Mitchell's which are also at the same location. My parents always get the filet, which is always great. My favorite is the Lime chicken. The salads are large enough not to get an appatizer and the MayTag Blue Cheese coleslaw is a great side. I ALWAYS finish with the ""Very Best Chocolate Cake"". Forget the hot fudge and icecream that come on top, the cake holds its own. more

everything about the dinner was great. my husband even ate the tomatos in his salad even though he hates them. we asked the waiter to surprise us since we had never been there before. be brought us the filet mignon and the special of the day (also steak). We were treated well even though we had just came from christmas shopping all day. I have recomended it to our friends. more

mouth watering 10/3/2002

We have never been disappointed in J Alexander's. We travel to Columbus often and we never miss eating there. We too eat there on special occasions even if we have to wait a week or two to do so. We consider it one of the best resturants around. It is a three hour drive from our home. more
