I compared a lot of locations for my wedding. None compared with the value I got at the Ivy House. The place looks awesome. When they got finished decorating to my specifications it was unbelievable. I cried as I saw it for the first time before I got dressed. All my guests raved about how everything went. People thought I paid a whole lot more than I did. I had my wedding at the Ivy House and things couldn't have gone better. I can recommend it to others. Hector was my wedding coordinator and he did a great job. He made me feel like a queen on my wedding day. He took care of every detail. The decorations were beautiful and the food was delicious. The punch they serve is the best punch you are ever going to taste. The amount of money I paid was tiny compared to the value I received. My guests were amazed. My husband and I were both married at the Ivy House in the 60's (first marriages) when it was a beautiful, inexpensive place to get married. I still have the photos and those of friends who were married there as well. it saddens me that the business was taken over by crooks 40 years later and run into the ground. Greed being so prevalent these days, it doesn't surprise me at all. I am just sad that it will no longer offer wonderful memories for many couples as it did through the decades prior. Our wedding was in May of 2006. We picked the Ivy House because we were looking for a nice-romantic place for our wedding. The location was nice but the people were dishonest. At the begining they were nice and would bend backwards for you but once they received the money they became jerks. My husband and I were very disappointed with their service. We paid way too much money for our floral arrangements and at the end we only got half of what we paid for. They agreed to reimburse us for our floral decorations and at the end they changed their minds and decided not to. They owe us $800.00 and the jerks refused to give us our pictures as well; which we paid for. I am glad they went out of business and are being sued. I hope that others which were affected get their money back; I'm sure there were many others! It is sad for a couple not being able to get there wedding pictures - our most special memories, gone by money hungry, dishonest, and unethical people! I spent several months searching for the best location, florist, photographer and videographer at the best price. I found the Ivy House and decided in the end to go with all their services. I was not disappointed with any of the services I got. Every thing was beautiful and everything went smoothly. I was late getting ready, but still had enough time to do everything we wanted to do. Let me give some advice to people getting married. After you have found your location, the next most important thing to consider is your photographer. Think about it. Pictures are the only thing you have to keep and you will be with your photographer the whole day. If you get a grouch, he can ruin your whole day and he may ruin your pictures. The photographer the Ivy House provided us with made the day so much fun. If things had gone wrong, I don't think it would have bothered me. We had such a good feeling all day long. My pictures are beautiful. I felt awkward in the beginning. I just knew I would not look good but John kept telling me that it will look great. When I saw my pictures, it was like pictures you see in a bridal magazine. I have never had pictures like that in my life. It takes a talented photographer to make me look good!!! I hope everyone out there has as nice memories as I do. more

I attended a wedding and reception at the Ivy House recently. I was totally impressed by the beauty of the place. It was like you were in Hawaii. Lush landscaping and fountains add to the beauty of the Victorian Home. The home has beautiful antiques. You can tell that the owner must care about the property. Most people would not put that kind of money into their business. The lighting in the garden was not like anything I have ever seen. The whole garden is lit to go with the kind of music you are playing. When it is romantic music the lighting is subdued. When you play exciting music, the whole place turns into a disco. Food was good and service was excellent. My friend who got married hasn't stopped talking about how much she enjoyed it. She showed all of us at the office her pictures and they were amazing. The photographer made her look like a model and he used the location to perfection. Everyone was having a great time. There is something about those lights that make you want to dance. I will recommend it to others. Pros: Makes you think you are on a tropical island. Cons: I wish we had more time to dance. more

Our experience with Ivy House was outstanding. I can highly recommend them. They helped us plan every detail of our wedding. The decor was very reasonably priced and very creative. The photography is by far the best value we found. We spent a lot of time looking for a photographer and they were the best and charged substantially less than other photographers who were not as good. The Ivy House is beautiful, the service is outstanding. The food tasted good. Our guests have raved over our event. They think I spent a whole lot more than I did. A friend of mine recommended Ivy House because they had a good experience, so I hope I have helped someone else. very discurteous people. unprofessional business practices. They made no effort to keep my fiance and I informed about what was going on with a refund, we had to call them every time. They also gave us a hilacious runaround to see about getting our refund back which took almost six months and made us loose out on securing other wedding locations.
