Excellant food 8/19/2010

We go here a couple of times a month. Love the smoked oysters, clams, risotto and Kent ages his own beef, so its on a par with el Gaucho etc. without the inflated price. They have just revamped their bar menu as well and if you get there before 6:30 weekdays, its half price. more

it's pretty great 7/9/2010

I generally love this place. I'm surprised by some of the reviews, but if you try the homemade sausages, gnocchi, or chop salad you""ll be in great shape. If you want a delicious and unique drink that is really hard to find, order a ""sazarac"". Give it a try and if you don't like something, tell the server. Kent (owner) is a good guy and will gladly resolve any issue you might have. Out of more than 20+ experiences there, I've only had one night where I was not totally happy with what I ordered. Enjoy! Pros: Bar is fantastic and pasta is good Cons: Sometimes that price is a bit heavy more

It was okay... 1/1/2010

Went there tonight to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. A friend reccommended it so we gave it a try. Had reservations, though none were needed since the place was 3/4 empty. Even with all the space they set us by the walkway right next to the kitchen. My hubby said I should have said something since it didn't bother him. My thinking is that is the worst table in any restaurant and why would they use it when they aren't busy? Nothing like hearing ""order up"" and pots clanging every few minutes.... The bread tasted stale and just olive oil (no basalmic or spices) to dip it in - very blaugh even after adding salt and pepper... ordered the pear salad and hubby had the spinach - they were okay, nothing special. I had the beef tenderloin and lobster which were both well prepared, mashed potatoes were fine, the veggies were great. Hubby had the beef gorganzola which was well prepared but salty. Might have been from the gorganzola or from the panchetta that was wrapped around the tenderloin. We've had a similar dish at Grazie's that was sooo much better. Didn't have dessert because we were both full and had a dessert I made at home. I don't think we'll go back - if I want to spend this kind of money and want Italian I'll go to Grazies where I know the food has flavor and I've never been put by the kitchen even when they are busy..... Pros: waiter was good, food was okay Cons: pricey, bread sucked more

Smoke Salmon Fettuccine 6/24/2009

I love love love their Smoke Salmon Fettuccine, it's my favorite dish of all times. I always get their Manila Clams and Linguine too if I want something ""lighter"". I honestly haven't tried much else on the menu (except fo the tiramisu, which is also excellent) because I always end up getting either one. It's one of my favorite restaurant to go to. It's too bad I don't drive that way anymore so I don't go there as often as I would like. Pros: Quality, Service, Price Cons: Location more

Not what we had hoped for... 4/23/2009

I was really pumped to go to this restaurant because it's close to our house and I LOVE Italian food. All I can say is that the wine and my company was the only thing that I enjoyed. My husband had the veal that reminded us simply of the Swanson's chicken dinner from the freezer and I had the pancetta wrapped sirloin with Gorgonzola...ugh. Not good at all! I was so disappointed...it wasn't even mediocre and wasn't cooked as I had asked. Our server was hovering over us like a swarm of bees and our bill turned out to be $110 bucks. (2 drinks, 2 entrees and 1 appetizer) I really wanted this to be my new ""go to"" Italian restaurant, but I'll never go back. Pros: location, wine Cons: food, hovering servers more

Something different 7/29/2008

The quality of food at Italianissimo is comparable to or exceeding the quality you'd find in the city. The portions are larger than the downtown boutique spots, the prices are lower, and you will not find a better prepared filet mignon in the area, Seattle included. The atmosphere is nice, intimate, and also approachable and comfortable if you aren't dressed up or if you choose to bring the kids. The specials are always a great choice. Suggestions: panna rosa gnocci, crab ravioli with orange cream sauce, tiramisu, filet mignon, chicken marsala, chop salad, penne proscuitto. Italianissimo accommodates custom orders. Great wine list and awesome intimate group table in their wine cellar that can be rented out. Pros: The food is the number one best part of this restaurant. Cons: Location more

Medeorcre, bland food at relatively high prices make this a good place to miss 6/22/2008

We were excited when our friends recommended this Italian restaurant in Woodinville as there are not many choices for good Italian food in the area. Too bad this was such a disappointment. more

wonderful food & wine, intimate 2/17/2008

the only reason i am not giving 5 stars is because every time we have been there the service is not the best. it is good, but there is def. room for improvement, especially is its quickness. some of my favorites are their espresso martini, their version of a chopped salad, their risottos and their tiramisu. it is dimly light and very intimate. there is a bar, but we have never sat there. call for reservations on the weekends. they had a special menu for valentine's day. Pros: high quality food. Cons: slow service more

Great service, great bar, great food 6/4/2007

Probably one of the top three italian restaurants on the Eastside. I'd forgotten how good this place was since I ate there last, at their 'downtown' Woodinville location. Went there on a Friday night, had to wait about 20 minutes because we hadn't made a reservation (I don't know if they take them). We waited in the bar where a very attentive bartender waited on us and made a few awesome drinks. I had the Gnocchi with a meat sauce. The Gnocchi was handmade fresh and the fresh bread (very important at an Italian restaurant) was very good. The wait staff was attentive and quick. Pros: food, service, bar Cons: location? more

This place is one of the best Woodinville has to offer! 6/29/2006

Just wanted to log in and say that anyone who does not absolutely love this restaurant is out of their mind. The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the food is to die for. My mom and stepdad go there frequently and are always treated like royalty....love it Pros: just about everything Cons: why can't the food be free? more

Best Food ~ Highly Recommended 4/25/2006

It always surprises me when I read ""not recommended"" for this superb restaurant... I use to live down the street and my husband and I have been eating here for years. It is by far one of the most enjoyable dining experiences... from the ambience (I love the romantic fireplace) to their extensive menu - my favorite entree is the filet with gorganzola (you can cut it with a fork) - my husband loves the veal parmesian!!! Don't miss the Shrimp Bisque Soup. They also have the best chopped salad in the Seattle area. Incredible ""wine selection"" and we love their ""winemaker dinners""!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Friendly Cons: No lunch on Weekends more

Suburban dining at its worst! 1/1/2005

Horrible food and service combined with excessive prices make this one of the worst restaurants in the Puget Sound Area! Cons: , service, prices more

fritzee 5/27/2004

My family has been going to Italianissimo for the past 8 years. It is our favorite by far, we go into Seattle but always come home to Italianissimo. The food is superb and the service is as friendly as you want or as professional. The servers always make my children feel right at home. The dishes are always prepared perfect and with me being on a diet, my dietary needs are always fulfilled with a smile. The wine list is one of the best on the East side and the food comes straight from Northern Italy. Pros: Great Food, Beautiful Building, Good Parking Cons: , No Saturday lunch more

Great meal 5/23/2003

The one time we went, we had a great meal. My wife had a tenderloin steak that melted in her mouth. And my smoked salmon pasta dish was equally good. Be sure to try the private label house wines - they're excellent. Only complaint was that they're not real kid friendly. But we will go back again. Pros: great food, easy parking Cons: not very kid friendly, a little pricey more

Off night 9/16/2002

We have had many memorable meals in the old location and tried the new location this last Saturday night. As you can see from my reviews I loved the place, the waiter, etc. but we found the food not up to the same level as the many other times. My wife and I each had the Chop Salad but it seemed old and worn out with no flavor. My Osso Bucco was nothing special and the Saffron rice lacked the creaminess of the past. My wifes Tuna was not cooked the way she asked -- medium it came very, very, rare (sushi style). Maybe it was a new chef ??? Pros: romantic, friendly waiters Cons: bland food, needed Emeril kick up more

Woodinville's Best-kept Dining Secret 7/18/2002

Consistently excellent fare, interesting specials, wonderful wines (you must be sure to sample their local-label house wines), great friendly service. Pros: Food, Service, Wines more

The best Italian food this side of 520! 6/25/2002

Well-worth the drive out of Woodinville, Italianissimo has had a face lift! In their new location (off the Woodinville-Duvall Road), this restaurant is truly at it's finest! The food is incredible and the service is amazing. Even just the salads are to die for. My favorite dish is the traditional spaghetti bolognese, but everything on the menu is great. The white table cloths and candles give the new building a more romantic feel. Visit Italianissimo to DINE and not just to eat! Plus, the new location has better parking! Now, the location has been brought up to the level of the food! Pros: Full Wine Cellar, Outdoor dining, Private Dining Room Cons: No delivery more
