Check your Bill !! 5/6/2006

We have dined at this restaurant many times. On our last visit, the bill seemed a bit high. On examining it, we found that the Kikusui Sake was charged at $15.00 per bottle(10 oz,) even though the menu showed it at $9.00 per bottle. When questioned, the waitress explained that the $9.00 was for the 5 oz size. The menu did not specify a size- it just showed Kikusui at $9.00 per bottle. In fact, the waitress said that the restaurant did not have a 5 oz bottle ! She spoke to the manager about the discrepancy. Rather than simply correcting for the difference, the restaurant REFUSED TO CORRECT THE BILL !! They said they would instead change the menu to correct the discrepancy ! The blatant misrepresentation and refusal to make a correction was more upsetting than paying the 67% increase in price! Suggest you check the prices on your bill if you dine there. more

Great Japanese food, beautiful setting! 6/17/2005

The thing I love most about this place, aside from the good food, friendly service, and fun music, is the atmosphere and the interior. You take your shoes off upon entering and put them in a cubby by a pretty fountain surrounded by bamboo. The floors are all dark brown wide planked wood and you can either sit at the bar or on the floor. The tables are along the floor and you can either sit cross legged or put your feet in the pit under the table. They lower the lights for dinner and it's a great place for an intimate date. more
