Great Installation 6/23/2009

I live on Whidbey Island. The tech, Robert, arrived on time, did a excellent, clean install, and made sure I was completely satisfied before he left. I had a friend who also had Robert do his install, with the same results. If you live on Whidbey, ask for Robert! He's outstanding. more

Same story as everyone else. So far 3 appts no call/no show. DirectTV apologizing,offering credits. They hide behind the answering machines and automatic call forwards back to DirectTV. The worst of the worst I have ever experienced in 50 years. Will be staying with DISH, and cxl'ing my 2nd acct at another residence. Refuse to reward ANY company with my business who does not care about their own. more

HORRIBLE! DON'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR! NOT EVEN 1/2 STAR! 8/15/2008

LONG STORY! Sched. appt. 8/9/08 btwn 12-4. No show,I called at 4:30pm-they said the tech. was sick and they didn't have proper equipment. Pulled teeth to resched. 8/14/08 btwen 3-8pm. They called at 3:30 saying tech. was sick. Resched. again for 8/15/08 btwen 3-8pm; lets see if they show. From advice here, I called at 8:30am today to make sure they bring a big ladder and she (Julie) said "if they need the 40 foot ladder they will resched." NO they wont! What kind of business is this! DONT USE EVER!!!!!!! more

It was like Deja Vu reading the other reviews; I had an indentical experience: (1) No-Show, (2) No Communication from them, (3) Long wait times when calling. The day of my installation I called them almost 10 times (each time on hold excessively), and wasn't told until an hour AFTER my installation window that there was an error and the installation was never scheduled. And despite all of this there was never a tone of apology. This is a company that clearly is used to providing this lack of service, and is totally comfortable with it. Unless you want to waste considerable time, avoid Ironwood at all costs. more

Duh... 11/17/2007

You would think that they would have brought a LADDER!!!!! Guy shows up, within the install window....not in a truck with ladders and equipments, which made me suspicious. So... long story short, guy did not have a ladder long enough to reach the roof of my house (2-story). Canceled my install and going through Clover Installation, the guys who did my first two installs... They are excellent! Clover Installation : (360) 479-4507 more

Zero Integrity 7/23/2007

My Dish Network went on the fritz and after a very frusting time trying to get someone out to remedy the problem I decided to switch to Direct TV (I had heard nothing but good comments about Direct TV customer service). I set up to have my Direct TV installed on the 20th. I did receive a call from Ironwood to confirm my install date and time. I took a half day off work to accomodate the installation time. At 11am on the 20th I received a call from Ironwood explaining the technician was out sick that day and I would need to reschedule. I understand people get sick so I requested the technician (or another technician) show up the next day, (the 21st), which was agreed by the contractor supervisor. Once again I stayed home all day waiting for the installer to show up which never happened. No phone calls from Ironwood, I actually had to call them to find out why no one showed. In any case no one was going to arrive that day. Once again I was promised the install would take place tomorrow (Sunday the 22nd) so I again stayed home all day waiting for the installer and once again no one showed up and no phone calls from Ironwood. I called Ironwood around 6:30pm but only got their answering machine which I proceeded to leave a very sincere message. I also called Direct TV and talked with a very apologetic and understanding install guy who offered to give me &100 credit and assured me the installers would be there on the 24th since this time it was going through management. When I asked him if Ironwood was the only company that does their installs he stated they were the only ones they deal with. I then explained to him this is no longer about the time and money lost but more about the companies integrity and who they deal with. I will never do business with Ironwood communications no matter how much money I will save, I will get my install from from a local company who cares about keeping their contracts and their integrity intact through the community the live in. I canceled my subscribtion with Direct TV on the spot. more

Completely Incompetent--avoid using at all costs 1/15/2007

I was scheduled by Ironwood for a Sunday morning installation between the hours of 8am and noon. I skipped a day of skiing with the kids to get a dish and DVR installed. They called at 9:30 Sunday to tell me they did not have the DVR and rescheduled for the next day between 1-3. This time it took a supervisor to confirm the new time. I was told that the lead installer would be given a light morning load and I'd be the first "pm" installation the next day. At 1:30 the next day I called Ironwood to confirm the installer was still coming and was put on hold for 10 minutes. I was then told that the operator had spoken to the installer and that he would arrive at my home in 30 minutes to an hour. 90 minutes later I called again and was put on hold this time for 20 minutes before being told that they didn't know why the installer had not arrived. I then spoke to George, another supervisor, who was arguing with the installer on the phone, saying I was really "PO'ed" about the no show-- still no reason why they had failed to show. It's now 4:30 and I still have no reason for why they didn't arrive. DIrecTV is of no use, they listen, apologize, and then forward you to the installation department where you stay on hold another half an hour. I gave up two days to be here for this installation and there is nothing about Ironwood I would ever get close to. Even worse, don't expect DirecTV to take any action to remedy the situation. It is a numbers game and they really don't care if a high percentage of the installs are bad experiences for the customer. I will try Comcast but at this point it feels like I'm in a third world country. Stay away from Ironwood if you can. more

Schedule twice? Install once (hopefully anyway) 1/6/2007

01/06/2007 After 3 calls to DirecTv, they gave me Ironwood's local number (425-640-0226) & was told to call them. Called them (Ironwood) was placed on hold to wait for "Andy" who never answered. Tried calling Ironwood's corporate office (800-805-8570). Office open Mon-Fri 7AM - 7PM "Mountain Time". 2 more calls to DirecTv & they are going to have Ironwood contact me in 3 days to reschedule the "no call - no show" appointment. This is JD Power's #1??? How bad is the worst??? Follow up, DirecTv issued me a $100.01 credit & is to call me 01/07/2006 with a another install date. Still no communication from Ironwood. more

Very Bad Service - Don't give a damn! 12/15/2006

As Maureen said, they don't keep appointments, late and don't care if you are available when they think they can come. When a tech did come, he didn't want to do the install and left! What a joke this company is. more

Unreliable, Unprofessional Satellite installation 12/13/2006

You make an appointment weeks in advance for them to fix your Directv (they contract locally for Directv) Satellite. They give you a four hour window on a week day. They call you electronically two days in advance reminding you to be home. They no-show. You call at 5:00pm (after staying home waiting all afternoon) to see where they are. After a 40 minute call to customer service they tell you the driver is "running late and expects to be there by 7pm". You tell them this is unacceptable- no one called to explain they'd be late, and you have to go out for the evening. When you return home at 9pm there is a service invoice stuck in the door saying "No one home". Very, Very frustrating. We are still without satellite and Directv will not credit us for the time with out service. Two bad companies. more
