Fresh ingredients. Cute and informal. Very very noisy and un-peaceful. Families with small children, plus the western music added to the chaos. Non Japanese clientelle. Pros:...

Its a hard place to find because it kind of looks like a house. But inside is very cozy and I think one of the \r Best place in the valley for sushi. more

Best food in town 7/7/2011

Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood. The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you. The appetizers are delicious. Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance. Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived more

Excellent sushi...great service! 3/27/2008

My husband and I go out for sushi all the time. This was our first time at Iroha and we loved it. This is going to be our go-to sushi place from now on. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Excellent food, Wonderful experience 3/9/2008

A group of us went to Iroha Sushi last night and experienced nothing short of excellent food and service. Every selection that we ordered was delicious and the fish that was used was extremely fresh. I highly recommend asking your server or chef for recommendations as we did. Their menu offers a variety of special dishes that are not typical of a ""typical"" sushi restaurant, but are absolutely delicious. One dish we ordered, I can't remember the name, combines a crab and shrimp salad sitting on little pieces of toast, topped with sliced jalape?os. Who would have thought this could be so good? Needless to say, we were not disappointed with anything we ordered. I also highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation as this is a small place that fills quickly. I called earlier the same day we went and had no problem getting a reservation at my desired time. We were seated promptly and the service was great. Be sure and try some tempura ice cream for dessert if you're able to save room. Pros: Menu Selection, Service, Quality of Food Cons: Nothing more

Best Sushi in SoCal 11/1/2007

Forget Katsuya, overpriced corporate sushi, this place is the real deal. The Sushi chefs here are experts and so attentive. Jose cuts paper thin sashimi that is simply AMAZING. Even the waiters remember my boss and I's favorite sake and bring us out a bottle before we've even sat down. This place is the BEST, and the chef recommend's are melt in your mouth amazing. Make sure you try the albacore with crispy onion, and the special #3 with the cucumber wrap. If you like REAL sushi, you cannot not try Iroha. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

This place is a JOKE 10/19/2007

The atmosphere is awsome - super cute BUT super decieving. When we got there they told us the wait would be 15 minutes. FINALLY after over an hour had passed we got 2 seats at the bar, only to realize that none of the chefs were Japanese. THIS IS NOT REAL SUSHI. It takes 7 to 10 years to become a Sushi Chef, not a quick course in cutting raw fish. This place is a waste of time and money, stick to Katsuya down the street. Pros: Ambience Cons: Food, Service, Everything Else more

Best Sushi in the area 8/8/2007

I have been all over the Studio City area looking for my favorite Sushi place, and Iroha has been a constant delight. I stumbled on this place once after a long day. This was the only Sushi restaurant in the area that was open, and it could not have been more of a treat. The sushi has been consistently fresh and delicious, the prices are very reasonable, the hours are convenient, and the atmosphere is fabulous. Early in the evening, there tend to be a handful of families with younger children, but later, it becomes quieter and more intimate, especially on the patio. Pros: Food, ambience Cons: Can get a little noisy if there are a lot of children more

Sublime Sushi 4/11/2007

This place never fails to serve up succulent, mouth-watering sushi from the freshest fish. Everything we've tried on the menu is supurb and tasty and expertly prepared. The specials wrapped in cucumber are excellent. Some reviewers bashed on the service -- you don't go here for the service, you go for the quality of the food which is exceptional for a moderate price. Some of the best sushi on either side of the Mulholland. Pros: food, ambiance Cons: sometimes hurried or inattentive service more

good food - BAD service 2/27/2007

I hesitated to rate this place average.....went there in the middle of the week - made a reso - seated us on time. The waiter was HORRIBLE - totally inattentive, brought the edamame AFTER the appetizer and first roll. Totally forgot about the eel sauce and the mayo. Then, to make matters worse, (1) he forgot about the second roll we ordered, and (2) he never bothered to come back and check on us. No drink refills, nothing. The food was good though - really fresh sushi, yummy and tasty. If you don't care about service, this place is great...but barely anyone speaks english and they really don't care if you are enjoying your meal. Pros: yummy fresh tasty food Cons: horrible service, rude staff, no english speakers. more

BEST SUSHI IN TOWN 2/9/2007

this is one of the best sushi restaurants in town. They have a great selection of sushi and their specials are great. You have to try the asparagus !!! The set up is really cut and the servers are always friendly. They don't close for lunch and you'll walk out with a smile on your face. Pros: variey, fresh, clean Cons: parking more

BAD EXPERIENCE 1/8/2007

I found this place on this site and decided to go there based on the reviews. I have no idea what you people are talking about? I arrived there and sat at the bar only to see that the fish was not wrapped in plastic and even worse that different types fish were slapped on top of one another. This is unhealthy and ruins the flavor of the fish. I was ready to leave right then and there but was very hungry and decided to give the place a chance since it got so many good review. The fish was mediocre at best and the rice was horrible. I love sushi and have been lucky enough to have some of the best. That place was nowhere close to that. I am amazed it got such a good rating. On top of everything they charged me 4 dollars for a tea. Unbelievable! Pros: nice setting Cons: horrible rice, so so sushi, not worth the money more

delicious food and incredible ambience 7/14/2006

This is one of my favorite places for sushi in LA. It is set in a beautiful Japanese style tea house behind an incredible world art gallery/boutique. The sushi divine, also freshly prepared and inspiring. The sushi chefs dish out a lot of their own special dishes. For example, chef Jose dishes a delicous seared tuna sashimi with heated blend of jalepeno and spices. I reecommend watching and ordering with the regulars. The garden is simply enchanting and intimate and the perfect place to go to catch up with a best friend or to impress a date. Pros: ambience, freshest sushi, innovative dishes Cons: disinterested staff, difficult parking more

indifferent service, noisy 6/8/2006

I used to like this place a lot, but lately, the service has gone downhill. Attitude is cold and indifferent, like they're doing you a favor. Patio was a good idea, but restaurant is still cramped and very noisy. Not a good date spot or romantic. Maybe a quick bite at lunch or something to go, if you can tolerate the attitude. Pros: good spicy tuna and sushi Cons: poor service, cramped, noisy more

Fresh Fish 5/12/2006

One of the best suchi bars in the valley! Some of the freshest Hamachi, Maguro, and Toro.....and sweet shrimp that they kill and clean right in front of you, still alive when you taste them. A little pricey, but well worth the sushi/sake buzz, and they're open til midnight! Pros: Fish, Service, Hot Towels more

Great sushi in Sherman Oaks 2/13/2006

Great Sushi! Large tastey cuts of sushi. The abalone special was great.. Friendly service. Pros: Sushi, Service, Fair price Cons: little loud, pretty small more

Bad edamame and beyond 9/25/2005

This place used to be a hidden gem. Not any more. We had bland sushi and indifferent service. They couldn't even get the edamame right. Don't waste your time. more

Cute little place 8/17/2005

The patio area is perfect for a summer night!!! The sushi was excellent!! There was a lot of variety to choose from, which is a definite plus for adventurous or picky eaters. The only thing that wasn't very great was their desserts. The chocolate cake and the sauteed bananas were OK. But what can you expect from a sushi restaurant...their speciality should be sushi not desserts. Pros: Great Atmosphere more

Yummy Sushi in a small place 7/30/2005

They recently added an enclosed patio which made this place much more accessible - hard to get in before. This place makes the best sushi I've ever eaten. Pros: Fabulous food, Friendly Staff more
