Does not care\r
I had gone to Dr. Iqbal for about 1 year due to low/no availability of other endocrinologists per my insurances provider list. Dr. Iqbal’s & his staff are very rude, refuse to return phone calls/ written correspondence or answer questions and only care about the co-pay. I had been seeing Dr. Iqbal for hyperparathyroidism and had diligently made all appointments for labs, ultrasound, CT, MRI’s & office appointments for that year. Dr. Iqbal and his office (run by his wife/family member) refuse to fax a request for meds to Medco (my ins. Companies medicine provider). No other doctor I have ever seen has refused to make obtaining your prescriptions easier. On one occasion I was going to go to the gym following my appointment and did not have/forgot a credit card/check to pay the co-pay and he refused to see me even though on my initial appointment they allowed me to be billed my co-pay ultimately resulting in me having to re-schedule the appt. This after a year of building a trusting relationship by paying all co-pays upon arrival at all previous appointment. The office shuts down/locks the doors during lunch time for an hour, so it is impossible to utilize my lunch break to do any business with his office (even over the phone). Their answering service on a separate occasion did not advise the office that I needed to cancel & reschedule an appointment so they charged me DOUBLE my co-pay for missing the appointment (it cost more to not be seen than to be seen) and would not even listen to me when informing them that I did follow their apt. cancelation policy. When they were advised that I would take my care/business to a different care provider if they did not remove the penalty for missing the apt. they could care less & refused to remove the fee (though I proved that I did follow their cancelation policy to the letter). Lastly after waiting in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes every visit you can expect to wait another 30 minutes to an hour in the exam room (likely due to overbooking appointments). While waiting in the exam room you will notice signs that say to “be patient” as Dr. Iqbal gives every Pt his full time & attention then spends 10 minutes with you when you are seen. \r
On the other hand I highly recommend Dr. Brian A. Berelowitz (702) 804-9486 if he has availability or your insurance uses him. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, answers questions, office staff is awesome, he even had his office fill out the appropriate paperwork to get my meds sent to me (via Medco) after my first visit to his office and without me even asking (Medco called them). \r
