Quietly among the best Italian in the city 6/25/2006

Wonderful dessert. Even better dinner. Had a gnocchi that could change lives. This restaurant is quietly one of the top 3 Italian places in the city. Pros: You can meet the owners, food is amazing Cons: Wish I could eat there more often! more

What's NOT to like? 6/22/2006

Everything about Iorio is truly amazing - from the atmosphere to the starters to the entrees to the desserts. I can honestly admit to having experienced all dishes at Iorio (and they have by far one of the best cheese plates around!!). Definitely a restaurant to put on your 'must try' list. I'll guarantee you'll go back for another visit after your first!! more

One of the BEST! 5/21/2006

Iorio is one of the Portland's best hidden secrets. Not only was the food amazing; but our server was friendly, and the atmosphere is warm, quiet and romantic. It's a great date spot. If you're looking for something off the beaten path, I highly recommend Iorio! more

Wonderful Experience!! 4/22/2006

Iorio's is a beautiful hidden find! Live music, easy parking, great food, great service, good prices, cozy & romantic ambiance. Starters include complimentary bread with a creamy dip similar to huumus, as well as another dish of chickpeas to nibble on while you're ordering. I reccommend duck breast--so delicious! Lamb ragu was good--no gamey taste. For appetizers, we had a delicious bowl of soft, tender mussels in a tomato stew/broth with toasted bread to soak it up. It's big enough to serve as an entree! Don't order the cheese tray--not much cheese--other options better. The prices are very reasonable, the most expensive entree was $18. Service was GREAT. The chef came out to personally check on every table. It's my new favorite place! Next time, I will go when I am very hungry and do the prix fix meal. I can't wait to try it! Pros: beautiful place, GREAT food!!, great service Cons: live music too loud more

Amazing food, amazing experience 2/14/2006

We went to Iorio for Valentine's Day and they treated us like kings! My date has a wheat allergy and they not only were able to accommodate us, but went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The chef even came out to talk to us personally. Really nice staff, VERY romantic atmosphere, and amazing food...both flavor and presentation...and I think it's a pretty good value for what it is. Great Southern Italian cooking...not the cheap stuff...for about $15 per plate. The wine list was limited to Italian, Oregon, and Washington wines, but they were very good. And I'm a wine snob. Pros: service, atmosphere, food Cons: none! more

Exquisite dining experience! 2/12/2006

REALLY wonderful! The food was a delight to the senses; pleasing to look at, with varying textures, and amazing combinations of flavors. Four of us had appetizers, dinner, AND drinks for under $100! We knew they'd only been open a month, so we didn't make reservations. We didn't know how amazing they were, but apparently other people already did; make sure to make a reservation. Pros: Atmosphere, Uncrowded seating, FOOD!!! Cons: New staff, but nice more
