We lived at two separate properties that were eventually taken over by Integrity Asset Management, and the difference of before and after is palpable. There is a common feeling among Integrity Asset Management tenants, and it's one of helplessness. We felt trapped, bullied, deceived, and many of our neighbors felt the same. Below are just a few of the many examples are this company's foul misdeeds, while we lived at Vista Village Apartments:
We had a dog addendum attached to our lease, and we paid an additional deposit to legally keep our dog on the property. A few years later, we received a notice on our door stating that the management would be searching apartments for unauthorized pets, and tenants would have the option of paying another fee or getting rid of the animal. Conveniently, the management happened to lose our addendum and record of deposit when we checked with them.
These kinds of bookkeeping ""errors"" were common. We once received an eviction notice on our door because the management had sent the payment to the wrong property. Yes, rather than call us and explain they were missing payment, they proceeded to evict us. It was only a little hell-raising of our own did the check mysteriously reappear. And even then, there was no apology for the nightmare they had put us through.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the air conditioners are poorly maintained, and rarely turned on until it has reached triple-digit temperatures. Filters are changed once a year (if that) and worn, loose belts are not replaced until they break . You will likely have to wait in the heat until they get around to fixing anything - only to have the same thing break a month later!
When we finally moved out - for no reason other than the escalating disrespect they showed the tenants - they seized our deposit, fabricating a ledger of charges that we did not owe. When these charges were questioned, the manager laughed us off and said we would be sent to collections if they were not paid within a week. Yes, a week! Sure enough, a week later, they sent it to collections.
As you can see from the other reviews, these are not isolated incidents of bad managers misbehaving; this is the corporate philosophy of Integrity Asset Management. Upon moving out, we sent a letter politely voicing our concerns to the executives of IAM. That letter, two voice-mails, and an email were all ignored. They simply do not care, and seem to thrive on the idea that they're screwing over their tenants.
If you enjoy living in a deceitful, ill-kept, police-state like environment, by all means seek out an Integrity Asset Management property.Otherwise, there are far too many options in El Paso to get trapped under this horrid company's control.
The only positive thing I can say is that, once you move out of a property managed by Integrity Asset Management, you will truly appreciate your next landlord. We have never been happier, and I imagine a lot of that has to do with IAM setting the bar so low!
