My Fiance and I went there for a Saturday night dinner excited about trying out a new Indian place. Being Indian - we might be holding the place to a higher standard but, overall...

Disgusting experience- rip-off:\r On January 04, 2015 I have called for the food quote for 30 people gathering for Birthday party out of which food for 5 people to go. I was very much specific about the food items we were needed and the manager got that item written down, he put me on brief hold and quote me the total cost of $450for total of 30 people with 25 people dining in restaurant and order for 5 people to go, he said that this will include the tax and tip since it is a large order, Then the person name “Satish” came on phone he said if you order anything extra that will be extra charge. I also said please make sure that the food is enough for 30 people, he said don’t worry we will take care. I agreed with that.\r At the end of event, I got the bill that shows they charge 20% Gratuity ($104.98) and food/ tax of $43.30, when I went to discuss this in person with “Satish” he said my employee made mistake when he quoted $450!!! and he has to charge Gratuity and food tax regardless . I said him repeatedly that this was not quoted to me but he did not want to do anything saying you have to talk to Mr. Dube the owner.\r I called next day for Mr. Dube he never called me and later on “Satish” called me and said they cannot do anything!!!! The food was not even enough for 25 people dining so they forced us to order extra items and the tab come out to $673.18!!!\r I personally believe that this is clearly rip-off, Thy charge $148.28 which should not be at first place.\r I wanted to share this info via review so this will not happened to any one other customer.\r I don’t know how this will impact to his business when I talk to my circle which I will do loud and clear, and if it does- they deserve for it. more

Chicken Vindaloo - Best of the Best 2/19/2011

My husband and I have had Indian food in different parts of the world: France, London, Cayman Islands - to name a few. Yet, my heart and my taste buds always come back to India's. This restaurant has superb food. The chicken vindaloo is my favorite dish. The chicken is always tender and the sauce is hot. It sets your mouth on fire but you don't even care because it's that good! The spices and aroma in general are mouth watering. (Literally, my mouth is watering at the moment and I'm not even there!) The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. We have yet to walk out of there unsatisfied and we go quite a lot! We also order and pick up which is nice when we're in the mood to stay home. Excellent, excellent place!!! more

Not a good experience if you are an Indian 1/31/2011

I agree with the other reviewer. I visited this restaurant even though my Indian friends warned me of the discriminatory behavior of a couple of staff towards them as compared to Americans/non-Indians. But I had the same experience and regretted going. The manager and the waiting staff were rude to us, and didn't care that we were there and seemed excessively courteous to Americans. They probably only want to cater to non-Indians. I have never had this feeling before. Even at better and more upscale Indian's restaurants in Houston like Kiran's and Ashiyana. This is my and my many many friends' opinion, so we have decided to never go there. Ever. Good luck to them. more

Blown away by the food and the staff. 7/27/2010

I had not been here for a years. We came in with a group of 7 including my 2.5 year old son and our 6 month old daughter. The second we entered we were greeted by the friendly staff. After we sat my son in the high chair a waiter brought him a balloon which he loved. I asked the waiter to please bring out some plain rice for my son while we waited. Almost instantly it arrived. Pros: Food, wait staff Cons: Decor is a little outdated more

After we sat my son in the high chair a waiter brought him a balloon which he loved. I asked the waiter to please bring out some plain rice for my son while we waited. Almost instantly it arrived. The menu is pretty large with all the standard Indian favorites. All of our food was great. Seasoned perfectly and served very quickly. But what is amazing is the service. I think our table has 3 waiters helping us. They even used the crumb scraper you only see at 5 star places. I am glad I will be adding India’s to my rotation of Indian places to eat. Pros: Food, wait staff Cons: Decor is a little outdated more

Always Tasty 5/12/2009

I come here about once a month, and for a reason. They are always friendly. They give my son a baloon everytime. The buffet is always fresh and has a good selection. The dinner is great too, but a little pricey. By far my favorit Indian food. Pros: clean, variety, friendly Cons: dinner is a bit pricey more

Good diversity in dishes 9/27/2008

I've been in Houston for 6 years and I'm a big curry lover! India's was, and still is one of the best I've visited and still use it frequently. I'm English and have travelled to India many times. India's, to me, has fused both the British tastes with authentic Indian cuisine. They cater for your needs and will adapted dishes to your tastes and likings. The service is good and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. I would recommend India's to any person that wishes to sample Indian food for the first time. My girlfriend had never tried it, and is now hooked! Top marks! Pros: Great food, and very diverse Cons: parking more

Easily the best Indian in town 8/2/2008

I have been to just about Indian restaurant in the Greater Houston area and I have to say that India's is by far the best. The service here alone makes this place a good find. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and attentive and the managers are always around to make sure you're dining experience is nothing short of perfect. It is very reasonably priced and the food is delicious. The chicken tikka and saag paneer are my personal favorites, but it's all very good. The lunch buffet particularly is a steal - one of the better priced Indian lunch buffets in town and it has great variety! I personally love it and I would highly recommend it. Pros: service, food, price Cons: parking more

Nice CLEAN Indian restaurant with good food. 7/20/2008

I go to India's a couple of times a month, and I like it. Not it's not the most authentic Indian food, and it could use some more spices to kick it up a bit, but all in all, the food is really good. Considering the price, it's a good value relative to the other Indian restaurants around. Sure you can go to Kiran's, BB Place, Ashiani; but your going to pay 1 to 2 times the price (or more) and get a much nicer setting. Service at ALL Indian restaurants is POOR, bar none!! Kiran's is one of the best and most expensive, but the service is horrible!!! Pros: Clean, Good Food, Reasonable Prices Cons: Parking, Could use more Spices more

Kiran's is one of the best and most expensive, but the service is horrible!!! Much better food can be found off Hillcroft around the SW Freeway, but most of the places have never heard the word HYGIENE, and certain don't practice cleanliness. Every time I eat in around that area, I just block it out of my mind and NEVER EVER go to the restrooms, or you?ll never go back. The bottom-line is simple: Good Food, Clean, Fair Service, and reasonably priced. So I continue to go back. I'm not trying to be critical or ugly, but face it, most Indians are very cost conscious and they always think prices are too high. I have many Indian friends and they are all very frugal. Immigrants and their next generations are just that way; trust me, I'm Italian and we're the exact same. So when one of my Indian friends tells me ?they are kind of expensive? I take it with a grain of salt. Besides, I?d much rather eat in their homes than go to a restaurant. BTW-Their buffet price is in-line with most other Indian restaurants in town. Pros: Clean, Good Food, Reasonable Prices Cons: Parking, Could use more Spices more
