I'm very spoiled where my Indian is concerned! While I'm not Indian, I thoroughly enjoy Indian cuisine and have experienced it dining out as well as by Indian hosts. I know good Indian cuisine when I eat it! This establishment is, to say the least, the WORST ever! First of all, the place is not at all spacious, so seating took awhile, which I don't mind if it's worth the wait - which it certainly was not. The service was sooooooooooo slow and impersonal. Not to be judgemental - maybe because we were the only WASPS there, not accompanied by Indian people may have been odd and they had to take some time to analyze the situation...I really don't know. Since it was our first dining experience there, I tried something very simple -Tandoori Chicken, which was fine. However, my son who has an Indian girlfriend, stepped out and ordered other items, which entailed heavier sauces - the rest of my family did too. The dishes resembled mush; the ingredients were so broken down that it looked like lumpy gravy! Honestly, it was very difficult to establish whether or not meat or vegetables were really meat and vegetables! This stuff had to have been setting around and simmering for quite some time. Like I said, the Tandoori was fine, but, it too, was drier than you would expect. In short, the only thing that even resembled Indian ""fine dining"" was the fact that everything was A la Carte - even the Naan bread!!!! That was a first!!! So - fine dining? Not so much! (other than the prices and A la Carte!).
Pros: Indian ambiance
Cons: rude and impersonal service and substandard food
