Funny how so many positive reviews come from the same person (Bruce G). I do not recommend this repair facility. My vehicle wasn't repaired properly and after fixing it myself and asking for a reimbursement, they refused. I will never go back. more

I have been taking my cars to Independence Auto since they opened several yeas ago. The guys always take time to explain the repairs and have them done in a timely fashion. I would and have recommended this place to many people. more

There is NO rating bad enough for these scammers!!!! Just got ripped off a couple hundred bucks! These people claim they are "honest people and don't believe in scamming people" so they claim. What a complete Joke!!! On 2/25/11, my engine light came on, ended up taking car to Independence Auto. Chris informed me that I had ONE spark plug that was cracked. I drive a 2007 car and at that time I had 45,583 miles on it. Then he also tells me "The other 7 don't look so good either". Well me (being a female) said "Oh ok you better replace those as well". Then of course, they had to do a tune-up. Well, huge lesson learned! After I picked up my car, I looked in my manual only to learn that GM has a guarantee of 100K miles for spark plugs and tune-ups on my vehicle. I went back and picked up my "bad spark plugs" from Independence and went to 2 different dealers and they both told me "there is nothing wrong with these spark plugs". In fact, one dealer told me he would of replaced the "defective" one for FREE. Go figure! I called Independence Auto and told them what I had discovered and that I was coming in and wanted these spark plugs put back in my car and get a refund. OMG, Chris freaked out, ended up talking to Brandon. Brandon continues to defend himself. He says "Well if your brake pads go bad on your car, you just going to replace one"? I said "that is totally a different thing". I said "I had ONE defective spark plug and the other 7 were fine". I also informed him what I found in my manual and also the fact that a GM dealer would of replaced the spark plug for free. Oh Brandon couldn't believe that. He claims he works with GM products all the time! Right! Bottom line, they refused to work with me and I'm done with these complete idiot thieves. I wish I had money to blow but times are hard and these people should be shut down. I'm not done here, I'm also calling the media and also putting in a complaint with BBB. They don't have proper people doing repairs. Only thing going for them is they can change oil, and thats even questionable. Ask around before you go to this place, as there are other and better places to go than to this place. They DON'T Stand behind there work if something does not run correctly. It's always something that was brought in that way. more

This repair shop should be ashame of the way the treat people! This place should be a quick change oil shop and get out of the repair business. Not sure where they get there mechanics, but they don't do repairs properly, at least the ones I have been given to fix my vehicle. more

Don't trust this repair shop. They do not have the proper people working on our vehicle. Again and again talking to others, they don't know what they are doing. Ask the local well repair people - see what they say. They caught fire to there vehicle. Dont trust this repair shop. more

I would give independence auto 100 stars if I could. They are friendly, honest, down to earth, and hard working group of people. I've been taking my car there for the past year and a half for oil changes and minor repairs, and they are always fast to finish and very reasonable. I trust that I always get an honest answer from them because my car is running great. My family, friends, and neighbors have all heard me preach about independence auto and have been equally satisfied. As a local to the Romeo/Armada area, I've tried taking my car to repair shop's that were miles away but nothing beats having a good repair shop around the corner. I've never had a dime missing out of my car and I've left my purse on the front seat overnight there. I would recommend them for sure!!! more

this is the worst place totake your car. they are thieves and liars especially brandon!! the guy will tell you that something else is wrong with the car and have you spend hundreds of dollars and return the car worst than when you brought in with even more issues. this guy should be closed down and investigated. the state of michigan should check and make sure they are all qualified to even look at a car. i dont think they know what they are doing and this place is a true scam. SHAME ON YOU INDEPENCE AUTO REPAIR. also make sure you dont leave any chance or stuff in your car as it will go missing in action and no one ever knows. please dont ever take your car to this place and be their victims. i learned the hard way. the guy is a compulsive liar by the way!! more
