As someone who eats halal food, I was quite excited to try out some halal Chinese. With that being said, though we got seated quickly, their quality of service quickly deteriorated and I was left with the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in my life. The waitresses were impersonal, and seemed to only want to fill our glasses with water or take our orders. Otherwise, not once did they come around to ask us if everything was going alright, or if we needed anything. The food was mediocre at best, and definitely did not seem Chinese. I get better Chinese at Panda Express and better service, and its take out. We ordered the chow mein, expecting noodles (like Chow Mein that you get EVERYWHERE ELSE). Instead, we were presented with a dish that was basically dried out and crunchy noodles, very much unlike Chow Mein. When it came time to pay, with the service being not up to par with what I receive at other restaurants, and the fact that I am a college student with lots of expenses to pay, I tipped by rounding up to the next dollar (which is quite common in fact). As we were leaving the restaurant, we were ambushed by the manager quite rudely, who questioned us as to why we were so stingy and why we didn't tip more. His tone was very accusing and seemed to imply that we OWED him money. He told us that his waitresses work hard to earn their pay and that most of it comes from tips. It is not the customer's responsibility to pay his workers. That is his. Customers are not required to tip, though it is a courtesy. I understand that my tip was quite low. However, to ambush me and to question my intentions was beyond the manager's boundary. I felt attacked and as if he tried to make me feel guilty. If that's the message that the management want to portray to their customers, then they are fulfilling their goal. I will be telling all my friends and family members about this experience. To anyone considering going here, let me spare you the trouble of wasting your money and the terrible experience by advising you go to Haiku, Panda Express, or somewhere else.\r
